It was the next morning, I'd slept on the porch all night, was a bit risky, but I'm a risk taker at heart. I woke up and stretched and felt the warm sun on my face, lovely day , blue sky. I heard footsteps from inside the cabin, the door opened there was Emerald wearing her robe, she looked a little worse for wear to other people and creatures , but to me she was beautiful. She said sleepily "I think I'll give the weed smoking a pass from now on. I don't feel so good." I sighed and smiled and walked up to her and said "it's ok. I understand. What can I do to make you feel better?" She looked up at me and said "some water, and you." I nodded and took her by the hand and led her inside the cabin. I shut and locked the back door behind us walked to the kitchen and grabbed a glass and turned on the tap and put the glass under it, I then felt some arms running through my fur, I smiled devilishly and turned around and said "here's your water." And held out the glass for her to take she took it and gulped it down. Then she moved closer to me and hugged me. She then walked into the living room and sat down on the sofa. She rubbed her arms up and down, I followed her into the living room and asked "shall I get some wood for the fire, heat this place up a bit?" She nodded and said "yes please Cole. Shall I show you where it's kept?" I shook my head and said "no I can find it." I grabbed my lighter headed out the front door and looked down the side of the cabin and there was a big pile of wood I grabbed some with ease. I heard flapping and looked up and saw Noir he chirped at me happily, I said "Hi Noir, glad you're here I have little mission for you." I stepped inside quickly and placed the wood down in the doorway and snuck out again, I whispered to him "I need you to find something out for me, look for a silver wolf named Silver , the wolf pack is located straight ahead near the shop do you know where it is?" He chirped and nodded I then said "Silver will give you the name of the wolf who bit my brother. When you return give me the name of that wolf, do you understand?" He nodded, then nuzzled me a little, he is so cute, but don't be fooled he can take on most enemies. I stroked him gently with my paw and said "you can head out either now or tonight it's your choice." Noir smiled and then flew in the direction of the pack. All I had to do was wait. I came back inside the cabin and saw Emerald with some wood and trying to put it in the fireplace, I rushed towards her and grabbed her by the waist to steady her as she looked like she was struggling, she looked up at me and said "seems like you're not so bad after all Cole. Thank you for the help, I thought I could do it but it's harder than it looks." She stepped away and allowed me to do it. I sat down afterwards on the sofa and said "you may kill me for this but I sent Noir out on a little mission, to find out who bit Ember." She looked at me with shock and said "what? He could die, he's not fully bonded to me yet. I hope he'll be ok." I gestured for her to come and sit with me and said gently "I'm sure he'll be fine. If you want I can go and look for him and withdraw him from the mission." She shook her head and said "no it's ok, I have an ability to see through another beings eyes to see where they are and to make sure they're ok." I looked intrigued and said "well do it, I've never seen a witch do it before, your sister kept to herself with her spells, always seemed shy about it." Emerald smiled sadly and said "yeah she liked to blend into society amongst regular humans for some reason. And it's not much all I have to do is close my eyes and concentrate." And with that she closed her eyes and concentrated, a few seconds later she said softly "I can see him, talking to a light grey wolf,  he's not wounded he's fine." She opened her eyes and smiled and sighed with relief and hugged me, she said with a hint of anger in her voice "whoever bit your brother I'll make him pay. We'll do it together." I nodded and held her in my arms, if only she knew how much I truly loved her, but I worry she doesn't see me the same way, only time will tell.
