Olivia sat on the couch with a satisfied nod. “The diamonds you’re wearing should be enough to cover my fee, but I haven’t done this in a long time.” 

Samantha was taken aback. Although she wasn’t wearing a lot of diamonds, they had to be worth several million dollars at least. Olivia must really be on a different level. 

Olivia spotted Samantha’s expression and misunderstood it. She quickly consoled Samantha. “Don’t worry. Kendrick can afford this, so don’t try to preserve his 

money.” 

“Why would I preserve his money? I’m not even his woman.” Samantha scowled lightly. If it weren’t for the sake of her revenge, she wouldn’t want to have anything to do with Kendrick. 

Olivia observed Samantha and smiled knowingly. Just as she was about to clarify something, Kendrick finally appeared. 

He was stunned by Samantha’s new appearance as he nodded in satisfaction. 

“Leaving her to you was the right decision.” 

Samantha rolled her eyes but said nothing. She hadn’t forgotten how she’d been forced into this. 

Olivia shot Kendrick a questioning look. 

Kendrick walked over to Samantha and began dragging her downstairs. “I’ve got things to do, so goodbye.” 

It was clear that he wasn’t giving Olivia a chance to ask any questions. Olivia didn’t try to stop them. It was just that Samantha intrigued her even more. 

Samantha was uncomfortable with the skin contact. She tried to pull her hand free of Kendrick’s grasp. 

Without hesitation, Kendrick picked her up and placed her in his car. 

He was driving a Porsche Cayenne this time. 

“Where do you plan to take me?” Samantha’s eyes twinkled curiously. Her reluctance had disappeared and was replaced by a small smile. 

“Lumaria.” Kendrick was puzzled. He was aware of how much she hated to be with him. Still, he answered her truthfully.

Samantha bowed her head, her loose hair concealing her excited expression. 

Ever since Jude brought Samantha to a makeover studio, she had guessed that Kendrick planned to take her to a dinner party. 

She noticed Kendrick’s somber expression. It occurred to her that the banquet he was bringing her to might be the same one she was planning to attend. 

Kendrick’s answer only confirmed her suspicions. Attending the banquet with Kendrick was going to be a hindrance. Still, it was better than not going at all. 

“Don’t you have anyone else to be your plus one? Why did you have to force me to come?” Though she was secretly pleased, Samantha chose to argue. 

Kendrick glanced at her but didn’t reply. He sat next to her and instructed the driver to start driving. 

He wasn’t initially going to attend the banquet. Then he realized that this would be an opportunity for him to show Samantha around. So, he accepted the invitation. 

Kendrick didn’t seem like he was going to speak. So, Samantha went silent and rested her head against the headrest. She closed her eyes, pretending that he didn’t exist. 

Kendrick couldn’t stop stealing glances at the woman next to him. 

When they finally arrived, Kendrick kept a tight grip on Samantha’s wrist. It was as though he was worried that she might run away. 

As it was usually the other way around, his actions made them stand out. The scene was especially unexpected since he was Kendrick Ford. Everyone knew Kendrick was never short of women. They had never seen him show preferential treatment to a woman before. 

Still, Samantha didn’t struggle. Instead, she went along with it. She knew that that person was bound to seek her out himself after witnessing this picture. 

Kendrick wasn’t fond of socializing, but he was still able to handle the situation with ease.

Samantha was his companion. She couldn’t avoid being included. She would occasionally join in and take a few sips with the group.

Kendrick tried to follow her but was held up when another person came over to greet him. He was forced to let Samantha go on her own. 

After sobering up slightly in the restroom, Samantha exited. She finally spotted the person she had been waiting for. He was standing in the corridor.
