“WHAMM!!”
The loud banging sound on the door from outside greatly startled Malti as she jolted up from her bed. Though Jasmine told her she might come late at night, that ominous loud noise made her rush towards the door, almost holding her breath.
When Malti opened the door, her eyes rolled in awe to see two scary. gigantic men immediately push Jasmine into her arms inside.
Her white arms were covered with red bruises, her cheeks were swollen red, her eyes were puffy and teary, the lower hem of her gown was torn and her whole dress was covered with dirt bearing traces as if she was dragged all along here.
“W–What happened!!?” Unable to process the terrible sight, Malti
murmured in fear, holding Jasmine tight as if she had lost all strength in her b*dy to even stand still.
But when she looked at those men, one of them stepped forward and scowled angrily at Malti, “Groom your daughter nicely tomorrow before the Carpasian Lycans come here to take her. And don’t even think of escaping with your daughter because if you do so, both of you will be punished severely, understand?”
“C–Carpasian lycans?” Just by hearing the mention of Carpasians, her voice shivered in fright when Malti confusedly stared at the man who conveyed the message. Still unable to hold a proper grip on the situation, she urged, “My daughter only went there to attend Alpha Bryan’s birthday party…why did she come back in this state? What the hell happened there?”
One of them answered in brief, “Ask your daughter for a proper explanation. However, we must say, she was adamant enough to provoke

“W–What!!? W–Wait…” Like a striking bolt of thunder, his words crashed deep into Malti’s heart making her numb for a moment. When those two men turned around to leave, Jasmine lost the strength in her legs and stumbled down on the ground.
“J–Jasmine? What is going on? What did they say? What happened in the mansion there?” However, unable to hold her emotions, Malti tossed several questions at once, looking at her daughter’s miserable lifeless ocean eyes. She grabbed onto her shoulder as she continued asking, “Y- You are bleeding! What’s with all these injuries? What happened…did you and Bryan fight?”
Jasmine slowly lifted up her other hand and placed it over her right arm which was bleeding and bruised. In a few seconds, a bluish flame emitted out of her palm and her injury healed miraculously without a trace, leaving her fair skin intact.
“Why am I like this… Mom?” Suddenly, after a long, heavy pause, Jasmine quivered to her in a pained voice. Lifting up her teary eyes, her l*ps pursed as she struggled to murmur, “Why am I different from the other females of this pack? Why did my wolf didn’t awaken like others? My outer injuries. heal automatically but my heart bleeds so much…”
Witnessing her only child to completely break down like this, Malti held onto her shoulder and tried to converse, “At least tell me, what happened-”
“If only I had been normal like other females of the pack, Bryan wouldn’t have abandoned me like this, Mom!” Crying and whimpering in pain, Jasmine struggled to breathe, “He chose another girl as his Luna in front of me. Just because I kept my ability hidden from everyone…just because I am not normal…do I deserve this pain? He rejected my entire existence for him! He discarded me, Mom!”

“HE WON’T ACCEPT ME, NEITHER I CAN GO BACK TO HIM
ANYMORE, MOM!! I AM PREGNANT!!”
Unable to withstand the weight of her emotions anymore, Jasmine screamed while shedding her bitter tears. Her shivering hands clasped over her belly, as stood up slowly from the ground sobbing, “I am pregnant…with Bryan’s child, Mom…”
“You…what?” Dumbfounded by her striking declaration, Malti forgot to breathe for a few seconds. Her face turned pale in shock and fear as she quivered, “I…I must have misheard something…No, t–this can’t be true, it
can’t-”
“I missed my period last month…but I didn’t have the hunch that something like this could happen, Mom.” Her shaky voice stiffened a little as Jasmine struggled to speak while sobbing hard.
Her tearful revelation left Malti dumbfounded as she couldn’t utter a word apart from trembling in shock and dismay. Shortly after she processed her senses, Malti rushed inside the room and brought her a small glass vial filled with a blue–colored fluid.
With a petrified expression, Malti mumbled in a serious voice, “Here… consume this. It’s Lilith toxin in purified form. I happened to secure this but never had imagined facing this awful day in my life. Consume it right now and…get rid of this child!”
“W–What?”
Jasmine choked on her voice when she heard her cruel verdict. Her shivering b*dy staggered a step back, and covered her belly as if she was struggling to accept what her mother said, “Mom, you…want me to abort my child?”
“Jasmine, we don’t have much time-”
“Mom, this is my child!!” Jasmine screamed in tears, unable to hold the

emotional turmoil, “How can I kill my baby when it had nothing to do with all this!? How can you ask me something so cruel!? You are a mother yourself!”
“THEN DO YOU WANT TO END UP LIKE ME!!??”
This time, Malti yelled out tearfully with immense pain in her voice.
“DO YOU WANT TO LIVE WITH A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH!!? YOU
WILL BE THE NEXT OFFERED MAIDEN TO THE CARPASIANS, HOW
ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE THERE!!? NONE OF THE MAIDENS
EVER CAME BACK ALIVE IN THESE 10 YEARS!! HOW ARE YOU
SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE THERE WITH THIS CHILD!?? AND HOW
SHOULD I ACCEPT ALL THESE!!?”
As soon as Malti conveyed her bitter grunt, she started weeping helplessly, covering her face. Watching her mother suffer like this, Jasmine gritted her jaws with the bitter rage in her heart flared towards Bryan.
She walked closer to Malti and embraced her weak trembling b*dy as she mumbled, “Mom…even though my father’s identity was always unknown to me, but you have always given it your all to raise me alone, without anyone’s support. That’s why, I promise you…I will also survive in the Carpasian kingdom. I am not going to get killed next like all the previous maidens…
“But how? How are you supposed to avoid this inevitable fate!? No one could ever…” Her whimpering words trailed off as Malti couldn’t stop sobbing.
But realizing that she needs to muster her courage for the sake of her unborn innocent child, Jasmine declaimed, “Don’t forget Mom, I am not just an ordinary weak woman! I still have the divine ability that I had to keep hidden from everyone here. Now that I have reached the dead–end, we can’t run away from this fate.”

“I won’t care anymore if my ability is being abused by those lycans…but no matter what happens, I will survive, protect my child, and seek my revenge from Bryan as well as this whole pack who has hurt us so bad! And…I promise you…that Hideous Lycan Prince will help me survive… Please trust me?”
Watching Jasmine try hard to stay strong even in this grave moment of danger, Malti couldn’t help but sob painfully, hugging her tight.
Shuddered by so much distress, pain, and anger all at once, soon it was the time of dawn as well as time for Jasmine’s departure.
Seated before the giant mirror, Jasmine was dressed in a soft white silk- laced gown, Malti quietly continued braiding her long brown hair.
When Malti almost finished braiding, the screeching sound of a horse carriage being pulled over near their house suddenly flinched both of them. Within a few minutes, the door was knocked. Jasmine stood up first and walked to open the door, and found three giant royal armored guards standing before her.
“Are you Miss Jasmine Wood, the next offered maiden to our Carpasian kingdom?” One of the royal guards stepped forward among them, asking. her in a sturdy voice.
His question almost hitched her breath as for a brief moment, because at part of her broken heart had still hoped that Bryan would forbid to send her away as the next maiden even at the last minute.
But as once again her heart was brutally crushed, she pursed her l*ps with a nod, “Yes, I am.”
“Alright,” the royal guard sternly commanded her, with his cold glare
fixated. “We have come to take you along with us. Get on the carriage, we don’t have much time to waste.”

Hearing his sharp voice even Malti came to the doorstep, when she saw the horse carriage, she shook in fear and started crying again.
“Mom, I have to go now. Promise me, that you will take care of yourself.” Jasmine mumbled with a sad smile on her face as she hugged her mother one last time. Her eyes were glistening in tears but she was trying hard to
stay strong.
“W–Wait… Sobbing helplessly, Malti took out a beautiful white moonstone ring from a small pouch and handed it over to Jasmine, as her teary voice shivered. “This is the only keepsake I have of your father, so take it along with you, Jasmine. Our blessings will be always with you, no matter what happens. Forgive me for being such a helpless mother.
Holding her tears with a pained smile, Jasmine wore her father’s keepsake ring in her left hand, giving her a little nod. She hugged Malti one last time before she was taken along with those guards towards the carriage.
“Wait!”
Suddenly, a voice startled all of them.
