Chapter 24 

The rich woman covered the left side of her face, which was burning with pain because of the slap while looking at Elizabeth furiously. 

“You bitch, how dare you slap me! Someone, hold her down.” 

As the rich woman spoke, she pointed at a few bodyguards next to her, asking them to hold Elizabeth so she could teach her a good lesson. 

“Yes!” 

The bodyguards got the order and immediately stood up and walked toward Elizabeth. 

Elizabeth furrowed her beautiful eyebrows tightly. These bodyguards were all tall and powerful and were much more. difficult to deal with than the few useless and stupid gangsters just now. 

Thinking about it, she took a few steps back. Her brain was racing, wondering if she should take advantage of being close to the door to get out before she got into trouble. 

“Stop, let me see who dares to touch her!”

In the blink of an eye, a pair of strong and powerful hands tightly wrapped around her slender body, protecting her entire body with his armis. 

Elizabeth looked at Andrew, who had suddenly appeared at her side, with a surprised face. 

She couldn’t help but blurt out, “What brings you here?” 

“If I don’t come over to look for you, you may have been swallowed by these people. Where can I find such a beautiful wife again?” Andrew whispered in Elizabeth’s ear with a hint of playfulness. 

He lowered his head, curling up the corners of his beautiful lips into a smile. 

His voice was hoarse, deep, and magnetic, like a pleasant cello sound, gradually reaching Elizabeth’s cars. 

She froze, and the tip of the car that Andrew had gently touched with his lips began to burn uncontrollably. 

Seeing Andrew flirt with Elizabeth as if nobody was around, Katherine’s jealous face turned fierce. 

She hated that she did not have the strength to pounce on that bitch right then and tear her face off. 

“Mr. Hayes, your wife slapped me indiscriminately. So it’s a bit unreasonable for you to take her away, isn’t it?” 

The rich woman was unwilling just to let Elizabeth go like that. She walked forward, wanting to ask for an explanation from Andrew. 

She thought her brother was at least a dignified figure in the circle, and no matter what, he should be more powerful than the man from the Hayes family, which had withdrawn from the rich circle in front of her. 

But she didn’t expect that the legendary sickly man who was incredibly ugly to look at would be so tall and handsome, which simply shocked her. 

“You guys provoked her with your words in the first place. Shouldn’t you be slapped? Or do you want me to get a lawyer to sue you for slander before you stop?” 

Andrew’s sinister gaze swept recklessly over the rich woman’s face and finally landed on Katherine. 

Katherine’s face turned pale when Andrew looked at her that way. She looked away in fear. 

This was the second time. The second time he had looked at her like that for Elizabeth! 

What was so good about Elizabeth? 

Katherine was unwilling to accept the fact. She thought she should be the one who was being held in his arms and pampered by him like that! 

“I can’t just let her go like that!” 

The rich girl started to be unforgiving on the basis of her brother’s position in the business world. 

“You’re from the Cox family, right? Your brother currently has a project partner who is an old acquaintance of our Hayes family. What do you think will happen if I make a phone call now and tell your brother that I can’t help?” 

Andrew’s tone was light, as if he was joking, but every word in his words hit the rich woman’s weakness. 

Chapter 24 

The Cox family was now entirely supported by her brother. If her brother’s career was damaged and she was the culprit, then she could not have a good time in the Cox family anymore. 

At that point, no matter how much reluctance and resentment were in the heart of the rich woman, she dared not say anything more. 

“Mr. Hayes, this is all a misunderstanding. It was all my fault just now. Please don’t take it out on my brother.” 

In just one sentence, the attitude of the rich woman underwent a tremendous change in an instant. 

“I’ll think about it.” 

As Andrew spoke, he hugged Elizabeth tightly and turned around to leave the bar with a giant stride. 

He held Elizabeth in his arms until they walked to the front of the car. The car door opened, and Andrew put her into the back seat and sat beside her. 

When the driver saw that they were both seated in the car, he started the car’s engine and drove off toward the villa.

Elizabeth looked at Andrew, and there was some gratitude in her words. 

“Why don’t you ask me how I ended up there?” 

Andrew turned his face sideways and looked back at Elizabeth; a hint of inquiry flashed in his deep eyes. 

“I’m curious, but I just asked you about that, and you didn’t answer me. So, why should I make a fool of myself by asking a second time?” 

Elizabeth was a smart person. She naturally knew it would not be a coincidence that Andrew appeared there suddenly. Also, she knew there were some things she did not need to get to the bottom of 

Andrew narrowed his beautiful eyes, only to find the woman’s reaction interesting. 

He took out his phone and showed the photo he had just received before Elizabeth’s eyes. 

“As my wife, shouldn’t you explain what’s happening in the photo?” 

Elizabeth looked down and saw that she and Jerry were behaving intimately in the photo. But from the angle where the photo was taken, it was evident that it was taken by Katherine using the convenience of the angle to discredit her. 

That way, the reason for Andrew’s presence there could be explained. 

When Elizabeth thought of this, her eyes flashed with mockery. Her stepsister was really trying to bring her down by any means possible! 

It was a pity that Katherine was using unimpressive and useless tricks. Compared to her evil–minded mother, Katherine was really far worse! 

Elizabeth asked, “Then let me ask you. As my husband, do you really believe the scene in the photo?” 

If someone as smart as Andrew really misunderstood her just because of the photo, he would not have helped her out just 

now. 

When Andrew heard the question, he smiled. There was a meaningful smile flashed under his dark and deep eyes. 

He put away his phone and did not continue the conversation but turned his gaze to the scenery outside the window. 

Just then, the car passed through a few speed bumps. 

The smooth road became bumpy, and Elizabeth’s body fell uncontrollably to the side. 

Andrew quickly held her. Immediately after, Elizabeth’s eloquent little mouth suddenly pressed against his Adam’s apple. 

The warm breath and soft touch immediately emanated at Andrew’s Adam’s apple, and his body trembled. A strange look flashed through his beautiful eyes. 

This sudden kiss on Andrew’s Adam’s apple suddenly made the previously normal atmosphere in the car ambiguous. 

After feeling the strong masculine scent emanating from Andrew’s body, Elizabeth immediately felt her heart beat uncontrollably faster. She even felt a bit thirsty and tongueless.
