19. Halloween Part 2
I nodded in response.
"You should never be alone. Not even for a second. Do you understand?" He said again, still holding my cheeks in his hands, staring down into my eyes.
I nodded again.
"I don't want to lose you Xayla." He told me, a pained expression come across his face.
I reached out and I rubbed his cheekbone with my hand. Looking at every inch of his face before resting them on his eyes. Only his eyes didn't meet mine.
His eyes were on my lips.
I looked at his.
Before I knew it, he pressed his lips against mine.
The kiss started off slow and pleasant but intensified within the minute. I drew him in closer with my hands around his neck and his hands fell, gripping my waist. He slid his tongue in mouth and I accepted openly. Our lips moved against each other in sync and I've never ever felt this way kissing a guy before. Well, I've only kissed one guy before, and that was my ex back in Florida.
We stopped to get some air because our breathing was getting pretty shallow. His forehead rested on mine and the only sound that was around us, was the music from inside and our heavy breaths that came out as pants.
Do I love him? I'm not sure but my body felt pretty heated against his body.
"I think we should go inside." He sighed breaking the silence.
I just nodded in response and broke away from his hold on me, slightly disappointed.
"Remember what I said. Don't walk around alone. Stay with Jake or come find me. " he ordered.
"Okay" I sighed.
I walked inside having Mason follow behind me.
I quickly found Jake still sitting by our table with his hands cupping his chin.
I walked over to where he was and sat in the chair beside him.
"What's on your mind?" I asked him.
He looked up startled. Apparently he didn't see me sit down.
"Oh I was worried that.....never mind." He said looking nervous.
I read his mind and realize that he felt like I had abandoned him and he had a feeling that I liked Mason.
I did like Mason but I liked Jake as well.
"Jake.."I sighed taking his hand.
He looked up to at me and at our hands. He wanted to ask me something but he was afraid of the answer. Just ask me Jake. I mentally pleaded.
"Do-do you like me, Elena?" He finally asked looking up expectantly.
"Yeah, you know I do." I replied smiling at him.
"Okay. Do you wanna dance?" He had another question on his mind but he didn't ask.
"Yeah sure. " I stood up and walked to the dance floor hand in hand with Jake.
The previous song had just finish and a song that I know began playing.
Jake held me close and I rested my head on his chest as we swayed to Ed Sheeran's song, Kiss Me.
"Elena?" He whispered.
"Yeah" looking up at him.
"Do you like me....like, as a friend or something more?" He finally asked what he had on his mind.
Okay so I did like Jake more than friend but I liked Mason also.
"Ohh umm I do." I confessed.
"I like you too Elena." He sighed smiling down at me.
"But, I like Mason too." I added that since we're both confessing.
His body stiffen and he pulled away to look at me.
"What? How can you like both of us?" He demanded looking hurt.
"I...I...Jake...its complicated. " I'm still confused to what exactly I was feeling for both of them.
"How is it complicated Elena! Its either me or Mason. Choose. Its simple " and with that said he walked off leaving me on the dance floor.
I've never seen Jake this upset before. He was always the one smiling and joking around.
I stood there alone with my thoughts wondering what I should do. I looked to my right and I saw Mason dancing with Mikaela but he was looking directly at me and not paying her any mind. I looked to my left and I saw Chloe and her date, Jackson. Chloe was smiling resting her head on his chest while he was staring right at me with a blank expression.
A panicked look came across my face and I looked back to my right to where Mason was and I saw that he was walking right towards me leaving Mikaela scowling at him from behind him.
Another thing that I saw was that Mason was bloody mad. I guess he saw Jackson staring at me and I was alone.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me with him , walking to where Jake was and not once did Mason look me in the eye.
"Why the fuck did you leave her alone there?!" Mason shouted at Jake, furious.
"Why do you care Mason! She's very capable of walking by herself without you dragging her " Jake had stood up and was now facing Mason.
"Why the hell are you mad?" Mason asked , irritated.
"Oh wow. You are so clueless." Jake said scowling at him.
"What the fuck are you talking about!" Mason yelled getting even upset by the minute. He does not like being yelled at.
"Mason..." I squeezed his hand in the attempt to calm him.
"Really Elena? So you're choosing him? He has a girlfriend. I don't" Jake said to me, a hurt expression across his face.
"I can't choose." I gritted between my teeth.
"What is he talking about ?" Mason asked me looking at me confused.
"Oh she didn't tell you? " Jake said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
"Jake..please don't" I begged.
"Elena here has a crush on both of us and I told her to choose. Apparently she can't with you in the picture. So i'll get you out of it." And with that said, Jake threw a punch and it landed on Mason's face making him stumble.
Mason regained his balance and gave Jake a punch to his nose making it bleed.
"You son of a bitch." Jake muttered, wiping the blood from his nose.
"Just stop it please! Both of you" I screamed. A crowd had gathered around us but the music was still playing. How Deep is Your Love by Calvin Harris was now playing.
They both stood there staring at each other scowling. It made me sad that I turned two best friends against each other in one night.
With that, I ran away crying from all the mess, and into the bathroom. I heard Mason calling after me but I didn't turn to look at him.
The second I was around the corner from all eyes to see, i saw a shadow to my left and then I felt someone hands cover my mouth holding my back to them lifting me up. I screamed against the person's hand but it was no use.
Now, I really wished that I hadn't run away from the catastrophe that involved both Mason and Jake.
