Chapter 52

Chapter 52.

Nelly’s POV.

As I continued to read, the truth was slowly revealed. Emily had lied

her brother was not Alpha Kex’s late beta. She had lied to get close to him, to win his affection. I felt my stomach turn as I thought of the betrayal she had committed, both to Alpha Kex and to the pack.

The feelings of hurt and anger that I had been carrying around for so long suddenly seemed insignificant in the face of this revelation.

“I can’t believe it,” I whispered, the words barely audible.

I walked into Alpha Kex’s room without knocking, the diary clenched in my hand. He looked up at me in surprise, his eyes narrowing as he took in my expression.

“I didn’t invite you in here,” he said, his voice like ice.

“I don’t care,” I replied, my voice shaking.

I threw the diary at him, and it landed at his feet with a thud. “Read it,” I said, my voice shaking with emotion.

He looked at me, then at the diary, and then back at me again. “I don’t have the energy for games right now,” he said, his voice cold and hard. “Just get out.”

I stood my ground, even as my heart pounded in my chest. “I’m neither playing games. nor going anywhere until you listen to me,” I said, my voice firm. “I need to tell you. something, and it’s important.”

He let out a low groan, and I could see the frustration and anger in his eyes.

“Nelly, I don’t care what you have to do.” He took a step towards me, his b*dy tense. with rage. I stood my ground, refusing to back down. “Just leave,” he said through gritted teeth. “Get out of my sight now.”

I shook my head, my hands shaking. “I won’t leave until you hear me out,” I said, my voice shaking but determined.

“Please, just listen.” He looked at me, his eyes dark and unreadable.

Then, unexpected, he grabbed me by the arm and pulled me towards the door.

“Let go of me!” I cried out, but he only held on tighter, dragging me towards the door.

Chapter 52

I tried to pull away, but he was too strong. As we reached the middle of the sitting room, I knew I had to do something to get his attention. With all my strength, I bit down on his hand. He let out a howl of pain, dropping my arm and clutching at his

hand.

“What the hell?” he exclaimed, his face contorted in pain and anger.

I stood there, breathing hard, feeling the adrenaline coursing through my b*dy.

“You think that I was playing games with you?” I said, my voice trembling. “That diary belongs to Emily, and in it, she states that she’s not your late beta’s sister. She uses the fact that she’s your late beta sister to get close to you.”  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Alpha Kex stared at me, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. “No,” he said, shaking his head. “You’re lying. There’s no way…” he started to say, but I cut him off.

“Nelly is the liar and Emily is the saint,” I said, my voice thick with disgust. “Just check the diary, and you’ll see for yourself who’s telling the truth.”

Alpha Kex hesitated, then called to one of the guards, who was standing in the doorway. “Bring me the diary from my room,” he said, his voice tight with emotion.

The guard nodded and hurried off. As we waited for him to return, the silence was deafening. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, my whole b*dy tense with. anticipation.

He looked at me, hard, his jaw clenched. “If I find out that you’re lying to me, Nelly, I’ll have to cross a line that I never thought I would.” His tone was low and threatening, and a shiver ran down my spine.

I crossed my arms over my chest, meeting his gaze defiantly. “What if I’m not lying?” I asked, my voice trembling. “What then?”

He remained silent, his foot tapping against the floor, his eyes never leaving mine. The tension in the air was thick, suffocating.

The guard returned, bowing as he handed the diary to Alpha Kex. He kept his eyes on me as he took it, his gaze heavy and probing.

“Are you lying to me, Nelly?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous. “Just tell me the truth, and we can put an end to all this madness.”

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. “You want the truth?” I said, my voice tight with emotion. “Just read the diary.”

He hesitated, his hands tightening around the book. Finally, he opened it, his eyes. scanning the pages intently.

I watched as Alpha Kex’s eyes carefully scanned each page, his expression growing more. and more tense with each passing moment. Then, I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye.

Aisha and Harry had emerged from the stairs and were making their way towards me.

“What’s happening?” Aisha asked, her voice low.

I could feel her concern, her hand resting lightly on my shoulder.

“Emily is not the late beta’s sister,” I murmured, my gaze still fixed on Alpha Kex. Aisha’s eyes widened, and she glanced at Harry, who looked equally stunned.

“Emily!” Alpha Kex roared, dropping the book and running up the stairs.

We all followed, our footsteps echoing in the hall. He reached Emily’s room, flinging open the door. Emily lay on the bed, her face pale and peaceful, her eyes closed.

“Emily!” Alpha Kex called again, his voice filled with rage.

“She can’t wake up now,” I said, my voice shaking.

“How? Why?” Alpha Kex asked, his voice full of confusion and hurt.

“I had to drug her to steal her diary,” I said, my voice shaking.

Aisha moved towards me, taking my hands in hers. “Everything will be all right,” she said, her voice soothing.

Alpha Kex continued to pace, his face clouded with worry. “How long will she be like. this?” he asked, his voice hoarse.

“I don’t know,” I said, my heart aching for him.

“Thirty minutes? An hour? A day?” Alpha Kex asked.

I was about to respond when Harry placed his hands on Alpha Kex’s shoulders. “Be calm,” he said, his voice low and steady.

Alpha Kex shook his head, his b*dy still trembling. “I can’t be calm,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “She lied to me, and now she’s lying here, sleeping peacefully. How can I be calm when all of this is happening?

Harry’s gaze was unwavering. “I know it’s hard, but you can’t change what’s already happened. All you can do is to wait until when she wakes up.”

Alpha Kex looked at Emily and sighed, he leaned his back against the wall, his head. falling to his hands.
