Rosanne’s point of view:

When we arrived at the vampire kingdom, Sigmund escorted me to the throne room to meet my grandfather right away.

King Bellamy was sitting on his throne. His lips curved in a smile as he saw me and Sigmund walking through the door. Rising to his feet, my grandfather approached me and engulfed me in a hug.

After we pulled away, he queried me worriedly, “Where have you been, Mirabelle? I’ve been worried sick. We’ve been looking for you everywhere, but we couldn’t find you anywhere.”

“I’m so sorry to worry you, Grandpa,” I apologized, “I—”

“Princess Mirabelle has been kidnapped, Your Majesty,” Sigmund interrupted me.

“What?!” King Bellamy’s eyes widened. “Is that true, Mirabelle?”

I nodded. “Yes, Grandpa. He’s right.”

“Who had kidnapped you, Mirabelle?” he asked through gritted teeth.

“I don’t know who they are because they covered their faces with masks,” I told him the same lie just like what I said to Sigmund.

“Are you sure that you don’t know anything about your kidnappers?” My grandfather narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

“Yes, Grandpa, I really don’t have idea who they are,” I lied again.

“You know what I hate the most in this world, Mirabelle?” King Bellamy asked me in annoyed tone. He apparently didn’t buy my lies easily.

I shook my head. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“A liar,” he answered his own question.

I gulped. 'Oh no! He knows I’m lying.'

“You’d better tell me the truth now. Because if I knew the truth from someone else, you’d be in a great trouble,” he threatened me.

Didn’t want to anger my grandfather further, I chose to tell him the truth. “I’m sorry, Grandpa. I admit that I lied to you. I actually know who my kidnappers are.”

“Who are they?” he demanded.

“I was kidnapped by the werewolves,” I replied honestly.

Hearing my answer, King Bellamy clenched his fists in anger. “How dare those werewolves kidnapped my granddaughter!”

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier that you’re kidnapped by the werewolves?” Sigmund asked me suspiciously.

“I’m sorry. I was still shocked at that time,” I reasoned.

“What is the name of the werewolf pack that had kidnapped you, Mirabelle?” Sigmund inquired again.

'Shall I tell them?' I asked myself.

Somehow, I wanted to protect the werewolves from King Bellamy and Sigmund. I just felt like they weren’t bad guys despite the fact that they had kidnapped me.

“I don’t know. They didn’t tell me about it,” I finally lied.

“I don’t think you’re being straight with me,” King Bellamy accused.

“I’m not lying. They only said that they were werewolves, but they didn’t tell me where they came from.” I was scared that my grandfather would find out that I was lying to him, but I tried to remain calm.

“I don’t know why I think that you’re trying to cover up for your kidnappers,” the king said.

“Why would I cover for someone who had kidnapped me?” I asked him.

He shrugged. “I don’t know. You tell me why!”

“I told you the truth, Grandpa. They are my kidnappers. Of course they won’t reveal their identities to me, right?” I reasoned.

“Princess Mirabelle is right, Your Majesty. The werewolves aren’t stupid enough to reveal their identities to Princess Mirabelle,” Sigmund defended me.

I was glad at least Sigmund trusted me.

“Okay, forget it!” the vampire king said, “Now tell me what they have done to you when you’re with them! Did they hurt you?”

I shook my head. “No, they didn’t hurt me. They just locked me up in a bedroom, but I managed to escape from them.”

“Did they say something to you?” King Bellamy questioned.

“Despite saying that they were werewolves, they didn’t tell me anything,” I replied.

“Okay. You must be exhausted. You’d better take some rest now,” King Bellamy suggested.

I quietly let out a sigh of relief when the king decided to end our conversation.

“Yes, Grandpa,” I responded.

“Guards!” King Bellamy called out.

Quick as a flash, two guards entered this room.

Bowing their heads respectfully, they said in unison, “Yes, Your Majesty?”

“Take Princess Mirabelle to her bedroom now!” King Bellamy ordered.

“Alright, Your Majesty,” they said at the same time.

“Please follow me, Your Highness!” one of the guards talked to me.

I nodded my head. “Okay.”

The guards started walking out of the room, and I followed closely behind them. After that, they led me to my bedroom.

King Bellamy’s point of view:

As soon as Mirabelle and the guards left the room, Sigmund came closer to me.

“Your Majesty, I think Princess Mirabelle is hiding something from us. But I deliberately pretended to believe her so that she didn’t get suspicious with me,” Sigmund told me in whispered tone.

“I know, Sigmund,” I said. “My granddaughter isn’t a good liar.”

“What must we do now, Your Majesty?” Sigmund asked for my opinion.

“Find out as much as you can about the werewolves who had kidnapped Mirabelle and report back to me immediately!” I ordered.

“Alright, Your Majesty,” he said.
