'I have to meet Ivan, Adolph, and Randolph,' it was the first thing I thought when I woke up the next day.

Getting out of the bed, I went to the bathroom. After having a quick shower, I exited the bathroom with only a white towel wrapped around my body, and then I walked into the walk-in closet.

I pulled out a pair of black jeans, black tank top, pink hoodie, and also a pair of matching underwear. I quickly put them on and didn’t forget to slip on a pair of black sneakers too.

Leaving the walk-in closet, I headed for the door. Fortunately, it was unlocked. I opened the door slightly and stuck my head out. To my surprise, there were no any guards or maids who were waiting in front of my bedroom as usual. And the hallway seemed to be empty too.

'They all must be sleeping by now,' I thought.

Taking advantage of the situation, I stepped out of my bedroom and hurriedly slipped out of the palace before the vampires were awake.

As I left the palace gates, I was faced with a dense forest ahead of me. Without a second thought, I made a run for the forest.

I didn’t know which way that would get me out of the forest. I just kept running straight as fast as I could. After what felt like hours, finally the trees dispersed and I found a road.

Unfortunately, there was no sign of cars or people around here. So I had no choice but to walk down the road under the blazing hot sun.

After walking for a few hundreds meters, I lastly reached a nearby town. I hailed a passing taxi. As soon as the car came to a halt, I hopped in and told the driver to take me to the café where Ivan said that he and the others would be waiting for me until sunset.

The sun was just setting when I arrived at the café. It meant the vampires would wake up any time soon and they would eventually realize that I was gone. Therefore, I had to hurry.

I quickly entered the café. My eyes swiped around the room. My lips curved into a smile when I found the people whom I was looking for sitting in a table at the corner of the room. Without wasting time, I approached them.

“Ivan, Adolph, Randolph,” I greeted them.

At the same time, those three werewolves turned to look at me.

“Ah Rosanne, I’m glad you finally decide to meet us again,” Alpha Adolph Wolfgang stated.

“You know why I return here. So now tell all you know!” I demanded.

“Sit down please!” Adolph motioned to the empty chair beside Ivan.

I took a seat soon.

“Before I tell you what I know, you have to tell me first what you’ve found out so far!” Adolph said.

“I’ve found out that you are right. King Bellamy has a plan to turn me into a full vampire after I and Maximilian get married. The king admitted it himself,” I told him.

“And do you believe he can do that? I mean, transform you into a full vampire?” Ivan posed me a question.

“Of course, I do. He’s my grandfather. He will never wish me any harm,” I answered without doubt.

“That’s where you’re wrong, Rosanne,” Randolph said.

I furrowed my eyebrows. “What do you mean?”

“Have you ever wondered how your mother died, Rosanne?” Randolph asked.

I shook my head. “No, I never think about it.”

“What did your grandfather say about her death?” Ivan inquired.

“He never said anything about it,” I responded.

“Since you don’t know, let me tell you about it!” said Alpha Adolph. “Princess Claribelle, your mother, died after she got a death sentence from King Bellamy.”

“What?! You can’t be serious!” I said in disbelief.

“I’m telling you the truth, Rosanne. Your mother was executed by her own father, King Bellamy, because she had broken the law not to marry a human,” Adolph explained.

Ivan added, “King Bellamy actually could save your mother. But she preferred to kill her rather than forgive her, only to save his face from his people and the vampires from other kingdoms.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“He’s right,” Randolph chimed in, “King Bellamy chose his throne over his own daughter.”

I shook my head in disbelief. “No, you must be lying. How could my grandfather do that to his own daughter?”

“You don’t know King Bellamy well, Rosanne. King Bellamy is a man who is willing to do anything for power. Even if he has to sacrifice his dearest ones,” Ivan said.

“No, I don’t believe you,” I scoffed.

“It’s up to you if you want to trust us or not. But I’m warning you, Rosanne. King Bellamy will do the same to you just like what he had done to your mother,” said Adolph.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

He asked me back instead, “Do you know why King Bellamy wants you to marry Prince Maximilian in your 17th birthday?”

“I’ve ever asked my grandfather about it. But he didn’t explain why. He only insisted that I had to marry Maximilian exactly at my seventeenth birthday,” I replied honestly.

“Do you want to know why he insisted that you and Prince Maximilian must get married exactly at your seventeenth birthday?” he inquired.

I knew his words couldn’t be fully trusted, but I really wanted to know the reason even though it’s only from his side. So I nodded my head to say yes.

“The answer has something to do with the blood running in your vein,” Adolph said.

I frowned. “What’s wrong with my blood?”

“Well, since you’re half-human and half-vampire, your blood is quite special. Unlike vampire blood which cannot be drunk by other vampires, your blood is drinkable by them,” he explained.

“In your seventeenth birthday,” he continued, “your vampire power will be activated. And because of that, your blood can give power and immortality to every vampire who drinks it. Therefore, on that day, your grandfather is planning to sacrifice you for his immortality.”

“No, it’s impossible. I don’t believe you. My grandfather will never do that. He loves me. He loved my mother,” I yelled, didn’t care if I attracted the attention of the people in this café.

“King Bellamy neither loves you nor your mother. The only thing he loves in this world is his throne,” Ivan accused.

“No, you—”

“Shush!” Alpha Adolph put his index finger in front of my lips, automatically silencing me.

“What’s the matter, Dad?” asked Randolph.

“Sigmund is here,” he answered under his breath.

“Are you sure, Alpha?” Ivan asked.

Adolph nodded briefly. “We have to go now.”

Before I could respond, Adolph stood up and walked away from our table towards the back door of the café.

“See you later, Rosanne,” Randolph said as he got to his feet and then followed his father.

“I’ll catch you later, Rosanne,” Ivan said with a smile before finally rose to his feet and was after his friends.

“Wait, Ivan!” I shouted after him, but he ignored me and kept walking away.

Getting to my feet, I was ready to run after him. But suddenly someone grabbed my arm from behind.
