My Grandfather and I went to the dining room with the guards in tow. After we reached there, King Bellamy sat at the head of the table. Meanwhile, I sat down at the right side of my grandfather.

On the table were set various types of food and drink. There was also a glass of blood especially for the vampire king. When my eyes landed on a plate of omellete, I suddenly remember Adolph’s words:

'Imagine this egg is you, Rosanne! The egg white is your human side and the yolk is your vampire side. If there is only your human side, can it be called as you? No, it isn’t you, right? “It’s not your world; it’s mine,” he interrupted again, “I am the one who makes the rules. And no one will object my decisions.”

“I understand, Grandpa. But I think I am not ready for it yet.”

“Mirabelle, your wedding has been arranged perfectly. And we can’t cancel it.”

“I don’t ask you to cancel it; I just want you to postpone it for a few months. Please!”

“Mirabelle, I am not on the mood to argue with you about it. I’ve decided your wedding with Prince Maximilian will be held on your seventeen birthday which is in two weeks. And no one can change my mind. Do you understand?”

I heaved a long sigh. “Yes, Grandpa. I understand. But…”

“What else?” he snapped at me.

“To be honest, I don’t mind about the wedding time. But I am actually worried about something else,” I told him.

“I heard that you’re going to transform me into vampire after I and Maximilian get married. I mean, you’ll turn me into full vampire because I’m already a half-blood vampire now. Is that true, Grandpa?” I wanted to confirm it.

“Where in the world did you hear that?” he asked, annoyed.

“Who was it?” he queried.

“Never you mind from whom I heard about it. I just want to know, is that true that you want to transform me into a full vampire after Maximilian and I get married?” I demanded.

“You’re right. After you and Prince Maximilian get married, I have to turn you into a full vampire in order that all the vampires can accept you as their future queen,” the vampire king admitted.

I gasped. 'So Adolph Wolfgang didn’t lie when he said they’re going to transform me into full vampire? Does it mean he also tell me the truth about the impossibility of turning a half-vampire into a full-vampire?'

'I have to ask King Bellamy myself,' I said to myself.

“But Grandpa, since I’m already a half-blood vampire, is it possible to turn me into a full-vampire?” I questioned.

“But the person who told me about the transformation said that it’s impossible to transform a half-vampire like me into a full-vampire. “Where did you pick up that idea, Mirabelle? I’m your grandfather; I will never wish you any harm. I wouldn’t want to do it, if I knew it would endanger you.”

“Okay, maybe you’re right about that. But Grandpa, I just don’t want to be changed into someone I am not. I am happy with who I am now. I am proud to be a human, or at least half of them. So, if it is possible to change me into a full vampire, it means it’s possible to change me into a full human too, right? Then, instead of transforming me into a full vampire, why don’t you transform me into a full human?”

“What are you talking about, Mirabelle? You know, it’s impossible to turn you into a full human.”

“But you said that you could transform me into a full vampire. If you could do it, surely you can also turn me into a full human, right?”

But I have been destined to be born as a half-human and a half-vampire. And as my granddad you should accept me the way I am, right?”

King Bellamy didn’t respond.

“Good night,” I mumbled and finally I stomped out of the dining room.
