Chapter 4

Jack’s p.o.v

I have to tell them.

I walked to the office where everyone was sat.

“Explain” Jaxon stated and I nodded

“Do you want to hear Emily’s story?” I asked hoping they don’t ask about me.

“Yeah” Bethany smiled slightly and I nodded sitting down on a chair.

“You can take your tim-” Cole got cut off by Jaxon shaking his head

“No! Just start!” Jaxon growled already getting angry. Bethany held his hand tightly and she nodded to me.

“The day it all started was when Emily was 6 years old. I’m sure you guys know how she had nightmares at night, and wouldn’t be able to sleep? So on a Tuesday, the day she was taken, Emily was scared to go to sleep. She was laying on her bed at 12 o’clock, when she saw something outside in the bushes. She didn’t want to sleep anyway, so she walked out of her room and outside, to the bush. Emily thought it was a bunny or something, and thats when Cameron found her. He grabbed her by the hand and quickly injected her with something. They always used a special chemical, to make her go to sleep-” Jaxon growled standing up

“Ignore him Jack” Bethany said putting a shield around him.

“That day changed Emily’s life. I was only 10 when Emily was take-”

“Why were you taken?” Ashton asked curious and I shook my head

“I was sold. But I don’t want to talk about it. Please” I mumbled and bethany nodded

“You don’t have to Jack” she smiled

“After that day, Emily was treated like a servent. When she turned 10, everything changed for her. She wasn’t allowed to wear proper clothes, she was always in her undergarments, dancing-” Jaxon growled in the shield.

“That’s what she had to do. She tried to escape, when she was younger, but she didn’t get far. Cameron found her and locked her up in a room,for a week. With no food just a glass of water everyday. After that day Emily never escaped. She listened to everything Cameron said. Emily is petrified of Cameron. She’s scared of his name, everything to do with Cameron. When she turned 18, Emily tried again. And Cameron found her again. But this time he didn’t lock her up. Cameron raped her” I whispered at the ending and bethany gasped as everyone growled.

When bethany gasped, the shield around Jaxon disappeared, and he ran towards me.

“Jaxon!” Bethany shouted but he ignored her and punched me. I fell to the floor and he grabbed me again, and pulled me up.

“You asshole! What the fuck were you doing?” He shouted punching me again

Cole and Ashton grabbed him up and pulled him away from me. I stood up slowly as bethany walked closer to me.

“Are you okay?” She asked giving me a tissue and I nodded.

“What did you do? Just state at her!” Jaxon shouted

“I tried to help as best as I could” I whispered

“You didn’t help her! You didn’t get her out of there” Jaxon shouted

“Wasn’t it your job to get her out?” I yelled and he growled

“I’m going to go see Emily” I mumbled wincing as I touched my eye

“I’m taking her home!” Jaxon shouted

Emily’s p.o.v

“I’m taking her home!” I heard dad shout downstairs. I sat up in bed and found a long red dress on the bed.

I got up from bed and looked around to see Jack not here. I went to the bathroom, had a really quick shower, and wore the red dress.

I walked out the bathroom and looked in the mirror to see it was really long in me, and big.

I put my hair in a bun and wore my slippers. I opened the door to see Jack.

“You look amazing Emily. Come on” he said holding my hand and pulling me out the room and closing the door behind me.

“Jack? You didn’t sleep yesterday. And you have have bruise on your face? Why?” I asked stopping him.

“I got hit by a door. By mistake. It’s okay.” He said not looking at me.

“Jack..” I asked again and he sighed

“Your dad was angry. So he punched me for not protecting you” he said and I hugged him.

“Don’t listen to dad, Jack. I know you protected me. As much as you could.” I said as tears rolled down his eyes.

“I could have tried more. I could have tried to stop you getting raped. I could have tried to stop them from hurting you. But no I couldn’t do none of that.” He whispered and I wiped his eyes.

“Shut up Jack. Your going to make me cry. And I don’t think I have any tears left in me. You tried and I know it” I said and he nodded

“I’m stupid. Sorry. I have to take you downstairs” he said rubbing his eyes

“Okay lets go” I said and he held my hand and we walked downstairs. We went to the living room to see everyone sat there.

“Emily. We’re going back home. Now! Let’s go” dad said walking towards me

“Okay.” I replied and hugged everyone slowly, always thinking that they are family. They won’t hurt me.

“Come on Jack” I said and dad stopped walking out the door.

“He’s going to stay here. He’s not coming with us” dad said over his shoulder and mom sighed

“You go Emily. I’m going to stay here” Jack smiled at me and I shook my head

“No! I can’t do it alone Jack. Dad. If Jack’s not coming then I am not” I mumbled and dad turned around.

“Come on princess. You have to come with us. You will more protected there and you’ll be with your family.” Dad said walking towards me and holding my hand.

“Jaxo-”

“No cherry. He didn’t protect her when she was there. I’m going to protect her” dad stated and I shook my head.

“No! If Jack doesn’t come with me, I’m staying here.” I exclaimed holding Jack’s hand.

“Emil-”

“No Jack. I know you protected me. I know. If it wasn’t because of Jack, dad, I wouldn’t be standing here. It’s because of Jack helping me, I know about the world. I was only 6 when I was taken dad. 6! I didn’t know much. It’s because of Jack, I’m healthy. It’s because of Jack I can go to school and pass an exam. All because of Jack dad. Jack” I whispered and dad hugged me.

“Okay princess. Why are you crying? Don’t cry. Jack go sit in the car.” Dad said kissing my temple and letting me go

“Okay” I said wiping my eyes

“Bye” I waved to everyone and walked outside and sat in the car next to Jack.

“You can do it alone Emily. And you know you can. I would have stayed” Jack said and I shook my head

“Jack. You know I can only do it with you. What did you tell them yesterday?” I asked

“Everything except your powers. I think you should tell them that. I told them about you getting raped as well. That’s when your dad- you know” he explained and I nodded

“I don’t want to talk about that Jack. And I’ll tell them soon. I just want to be okay with everyone first” I mumbled just as dad and mom walked to the car and sat in the car.

“Are you excited to see Oliver?” Mom asked

“Oliver?..” I was a little confused

“Your brother?” Dad turned around to look at me and I nodded

“Oh. Oli. Yeah” I mumbled and dad smiled

“Good. Sorry about that Jack. I was a little angry” dad said and Jack nodded

“It’s okay. I have had worse” Jack said and dad nodded

“Let’s get you home” dad smiled at me and I nodded

“Oliver” mom shouted as we walked inside the house.

“Is she here?” I heard him shouted before I saw him run downstairs

He ran downstairs and hugged me tightly

I looked and Jack and he nodded, smiling at me. I wrapped my hands around him and he hugged me tighter

“I missed you Emily” he muttered and I nodded

“I missed you too Oli” I replied and he chuckled

“That’s it! Everyone can call me Oli now! I didn’t let anyone call me Oli because you used to call me it” he said letting me go

“Yeah” I said

“Amanda” Oli shouted and another girl ran to me and hugged me tightly

“I missed you” she said letting me go as Jack growled

“MINE” he shouted and hugged Amanda.

Jack is 22 years old and Amanda is one year younger than me, so she’s 18. I’m happy Jack found his mate. He always wanted to find his mate.

“Okay. I think we should leave these lot. But be careful Amanda. You know your parents are out” mom said and we all walked to the Kitchen where another couple was standing.

“Ryan, Eric. Emily is back!” Mom said and they both turned around and looked at me.

They both ran to me and tried to hug me but I moved away, fast. I tried to stand next to Jack but he wasn’t here. So I stood in the corner, taking deep breaths.

“Emily?” Dad asked walking closer to me.

“I think she’s having a panic attack” mom stated and I took another deep breath.

“I don’t know” Oli muttered and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath trying to calm myself down. When I was calm, I rested my head on the wall behind me.

“Emily?” I heard Jack’s voice and I opened my eyes to see him walking into the room with Amanda.

“I need some space” I muttered and made myself invisible.

“Where did she go?” I saw dad looking around.

“Emily. I know your here! Emily” Jack said looking around.

“What?” Mom asked confused

“I can’t do it Jack.” I mumbled and he walked closer to by voice but I opened the door and ran out the backyard.

I made my self visible again, and stopped next to a tree. I was in a clearing and it was amazing. I made a shield around the whole place so no one can enter or see inside.

I laid on the floor between the white flowers and looked up at the blue sky.

I touched the grass slowly and it grew a little. I looked at the sky, and extended my hands out and threw a small rainbow. A colourful rainbow appeared in the sky and I smiled.

“Emily” I heard a faint voice of dad around the shield.

I swiped my fingers in the air and the shield disappeared and dad walked inside.

“Emily? What’s wrong princess?” He asked looking at me. He sat next to me and I sighed.

“dad...I can’t talk about it” I mumbled creating heart clouds in the sky.

“How are you doing that Emily. I don’t understand” he said confused and laid down next to me. I moved a little to the right and shrugged

“I don’t understand as well” I whispered as I created a flower cloud

“But all these powers: invisibility, running faster than a normal vampire, and drawing in the sky? When did you find out you have these powers?” He asked as I touched the floor and the grass grew a little

“When I was 10. I was sat inside the room, and looking out the window. It was raining outside, and I didn’t want that. So I pretended to draw a rainbow, when it actually appeared in the sky. I was shocked and so was Jack. After that, I found my other powers as well” I explained

“Did you ever try to escape when you found your powers?” Dad whispered and I nodded

“I tried twice. But then I didn’t try again. Jack told yout right?” I asked and dad’s hands turned to fists.

“It’s okay dad. I try to forgot it. I don’t know why I’m different. Every time Cameron would say that he’s going to be powerful, when he drank my blood. I didn’t understand and nor does Jack.”

“He drank your fucking blood!” Dad shouted sitting up

“Dad please. I don’t want to get scared again. I get scared easily, I have panic attack, and sometimes I have random people talking in my head and it hurts. It hurts so much. It hurts and hurts and then I faint.” I whispered tears rolling down my face as dad hugged me

“Don’t worry princess. I’m here now. Tell me Emily, why are you scared if someone touches you? Why do you need Jack always with you?” Dad asked holding me tightly and I wrapped my arms around him.

“I’m scared dad. I’m scared that everyone is like Cameron. I don’t want to be taken again dad. I want to have a normal life as well. I want to have a mate as well, like Jack. I want to know what love is. But I can’t have all that. Because I’m broken dad. I’m broken” I whispered and dad shook his head

“Emily! Your not broken. Don’t ever say that okay? You’re perfectly fine. Do you really want a mate? Everyone has a mate. Some time in life everyone gets one. I had to wait years and years just for your mom to come into my life. That’s what happens. Sometimes you get your mate early and sometimes late. But you do get a mate in life. Everyone does. And Jack, Jack has to live his life with his mate now Emily. He can’t be with you. Always. But don’t worry. I will be by your side every single minute. If you don’t want anyone to talk to you, tell me and I’ll tell them to leave. Okay?“dad said wiping my tears and I nodded

“Hmm” I replied as 15 conversations started in my head.

“What’s wrong Emily?” Dad asked and I couldn’t answer
