Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

“Cyra, it’s me, Vi! Are you descent? Can I come in?” she asked through the door.

“Violet! Of course, we’re descent! And don’t you dare say shit like that in front of my dad,” I shouted at her.

She giggled while coming in.

“Oh please, obviously I won’t. I’d like to see my jiju in one piece,” she giggled.

Kabir, Vi’s fiancé/mate too came in.

“Hi Damon, I’m Kabir, Vi’s mate,” Kabir shook Damon’s hand.

“Hi Kabir, I’ve heard a lot about you,” Damon said, slightly glaring at me from the corner of his eye.

Violet snorted.

“Anyways, Cyra, your guest is here,” Violet said.

Oh right! I almost forgot about that. This is purrfect!

“Oh my god! Damon, I have a surprise for you!” I exclaimed and dragged Damon out of the room.

“What’s this all about?” Damon asked.

“You’ll see,” I giggled.

I led him down the stairs and through different corridors when I finally reached my garden. Before opening the door, I stopped and turned toward Damon.

“Why’d you stop?” he asked.

“My dear mate, he’s your gift,” I said opening the door.

Damon gave me an amused look and went outside. When he saw her sitting on the bench, he stopped.

“Damon? Is that really you?” she whispered.

“This isn’t real, is it?” he gasped.

“Yes, it is! Happy birthday,” I said walking up to him.

Damon ran to her and hugged her. A smile graced my lips.

“Damon, my son, you’re actually here,” she gasped hugging Damon.

“Yes Mom, I am,” he choked on a sob.

A happy tear rolled down my cheek and giggled looking at them. They look so happy.

After some time his mom turned to me.

“Thank you so much Princess Cyra!” she smiled.

“No need for thank you Mom, and please don’t call me princess. I think of you as my mother. I don’t like you calling me princess,” I smiled back.

“I’ll leave you two alone now,” I said and walked back inside.

I walked into the dining room where I saw Vi, Kabir, Mom, and Dad decorating. Vi saw me and smiled.

“Are they catching up?” she asked smiling.

“Yup! They both were so happy,” I replied.

“Okay now help me with this,” my Mom said.

“You sure we have to do this for a guy we just met? I mean I could…” my dad started.

“Cyrus! Would you rather have Cyra and Damon go on a date alone?” My mother cut him off.

“I’ll just continue decorating,” he mumbled and we laughed.

We continued decorating the place and I told Caroline (the head chef) to make his favorite food. While we were doing the final touches, Uncle Aaron, Aunt Amara, Alex, and Aiden came into the room.

“What’s happening here?” Uncle Aaron asked.

“And what smells so good?” Alex and Aiden asked.

“Damon’s back!” I exclaimed.

“Oh, that’s amazing!” Aunt Amara exclaimed and hugged me.

“Hi, princ-” his mom started but I gave her a pointed look.

“Oh please stay! You can even stay here for the night and I can arrange for someone to drop you off tomorrow,” I offered.

“I don’t want to be a bother,” she said hesitating.

“It’s no bother at all! Please join us. We’d really like it.” I said.

“Okay, fine,” she said.

I led them both inside to the dining hall. I opened the door and Damon gasped.

“Happy birthday!” everyone exclaimed.

“How did you do this so fast?” Damon gasped.

“I had a lot of helping hands. Damon, you must remember Uncle Aaron. This is my Aunt Amara and their sons, Alex and Aiden. The only people in my close family that are left are Aunt Val and Uncle Elliot but they won’t be here until tomorrow morning because of some wedding work,” I introduced him.

He greeted everyone.

“Okay now cake-time everyone!” Vi exclaimed.

“Yes!” the twins exclaimed.

“How are you all still so obsessed with cake?” Uncle Aaron asked chuckling.

“Duh, it’s cake!” we all replied in unison.

Damon went to the center on the table with me by his side and he cut the cake. We all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for him. After that, we partied, talked, and ate all day long.
