Chapter 30

Alexander's POV

I was on edge the moment I stepped inside the room and saw that she was surrounded by her doctors. I walk up to them and came beside her bed but one of the doctors had stopped me, pleading to me if I could step behind for a moment and let them take care of the situation at what was happening. My wolf let out an angry growl making the doctor whimper.

'Who do you think he was to give order to his Alpha King?' Sneered my wolf.

I glared at the doctor and walk past him. Standing beside her bed, my heart wrenched at the sight before me. Her body was shaking. The heart monitor beside her bed beeped loudly.

"What is happening to her?" I worriedly ask the doctor beside me whose checking her pulse.

"I-I...We don't know" then turns to look at his fellow doctors with a frightened look.

"What?! What do you mean you don't know?! You're her doctors! You should know what is happening to her!" I angrily spat.

"That's why we are figuring it out, my Alpha King," said the doctor across from me "We're doing all that we can."

"You better be! Or else if something happens to her, rest assured that all of you will be headed!"

The doctors' faces went terrified at what they heard and so they all rambled and quickly switched places, doing everything they can to stop what is happening to her body.

Clenching my fist at my side, hopeless for I can't even do a thing to save her. The machine continues to beep louder while her body is still shaking terribly.

"My son!"

My gaze turned toward the door and my mother came in with a baffled look behind her was my father who had a questioning look on his face.

"Mother, Father" I uttered with my eyebrows furrowed.

They walk inside and came beside me. My mother's gaze went down at the shewolf on the bed whose terribly shaking and her hands instantly went up to her chest.

"Oh my! What is happening to her?"

I didn't respond to her question because I don't know what will I say.

My mother looks me in the eyes, searching for an answer, waiting for my reply.

I just clench my jaw and avoid her eyes. I don't know if I could look straight into her eyes for if I do, I might not be able to control myself and break down. I gulp hard and sigh.

"Father, would you please take mother out. I-I'll just explain this all to you later." I sadly whispered while my eyes were fixed on my mate's face.

"But--"

"Let's go, honey."

My mother reasons out but father stops her from saying another word.

"Let's just abide to what he says. For now, just let him be. I can feel that this shewolf holds something important to our son."

I sense my mother quieted down when she realize what her mate said and turn their back on me to walk out of the room.

As they were heading out, the beeping of the machine go more wildly until the sound goes to a straight flat sound. I turn to look at the machine and the line there was just showing a straight line and instantly ask the doctors what does it mean but they only gave me a more horrified look.

My eyes move to her and saw that her body had stop from shaking.

My heart pumps fast. I feel like any minute now it will rip out from my ribcage.

"What the hell is going on?!" I bellowed "Would someone fucking tell me what is happening to her?" My anger flared out wildly making them all tremble in fear and no one dares to respond to my question. My eyes switched between the doctors. They just all had a terrified looks on their faces.

When I felt that no one wants to respond to me, I just switch my gaze to my mate.

'Do something!' Shout my wolf.

My mind is a mess right now while my heart continues to pound hard. My eyes went up again to the doctors and still they wouldn't speak. My gaze pass behind them and saw that my parents are still in the room with worried looks.

And Then the machine suddenly beep once again and instantly my eyes went to her. My gaze swept through her body, checking if her body would shake and tremble again but nothing happen. I just heard the machine go back to its normal beeping sound but my eyes continue to check her body until I saw one of her fingers move. And that's when my wolf wildly stirs inside me at what we saw.

"She must be awakening!"

Hope filled me and I went down and lean close to her. Checking, waiting for any signs that she will wake up any time now.

"Come on, mate! Open your eyes!" Hopefully cheered my wolf.

Please, wake up now.

I silently prayed.

And then her eyebrows wrinkled and move and that's when her eyes slowly opened. She squinted at first but then focus on me. My heart filled with joy when I saw her eyes fluttering open! My wolf rejoices inside my head and I just continue to stare at her wonderful eyes.

But then her eyes went wide and I gulp. Then a loud snap goes ringing in my ears.

Did she just slap me?

I felt everyone in the room had stayed still and no one moved. I heard my mother's breath hitch.

What? Why did she slap me?

I stared at her but she had this look on me that I can't explain. I backed away from her bed and was startled at what she did. She scan her eyes around and suddenly the machine goes wild again and she slowly started to shake.

"She is panicking!" Yelled my wolf but I stayed silent.

One of the doctors walk beside her and put on the oxygen mask back to her face she slowly breathed in the oxygen and then everything in her went back to normal.

I can't stand this.

And so with one more glance at her, I decided to walk out of the room while everyone was baffled at what happened.

"What do you think you're doing?" Ask my wolf.

'I'm heading out!'

"Can you tell me why are you leaving her?!"

'I'm just pissed right now, ok? So just go away!'

I continue to walk my way out and head to the office, instead.

"No!" Roared my wolf "Get back in there, now!"

'I think she doesn't need us right now.'

"What are you saying? You sick mutt!"

'What did you call me?' And stop walking.

"You're such a brat! Go get back in there! Can't you see? She clearly had no idea what was happening! Dumbass! If you had a good mind you wouldn't leave her alone surrounded by wolves that she didn't even know!" Angrily yelled my wolf at me.

I guiltily bite my lips at what he said. My wolf has a point. Why did I even think to walk out on her? Why do I even have to listen to my anger instead of thinking about her situation?

'Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have done that.'

My guilty conscience was already eating me inside, stabbing my heart. And so, I turn around and head back to her.

I should be the one to understand her right now and be at her side.

I hurriedly walk back to the room. Upon nearing, I heard that they were talking to her, trying to have a conversation with her and to lighten the mood. When I step inside, everyone in the room turn to look at me and they all went silent. I saw my mother had already sat on a chair beside her, my father behind her and the doctors were at the other side of the bed. And my eyes switch on her and our eyes met.

We stared at each other for a moment while I was still standing in the doorway. I saw my father in the corner of my eye had patted my mother's shoulder and nudged the doctors to be out of the room. They all bid goodbye to her and piled out of the room. Before my father walk out he pat me on my shoulder and gave me an encouraging look and I just nod my head in response. And when they had all gone into the room, I close the door.

The room was silent, only the beeping sound of the machine can be heard. But with my super sharp senses, I was hearing all the little sounds around me. Her breathing, the wind that blew inside from the window, and her heart that was beating loudly.

"She's nervous," said my wolf.

She tears her eyes from me and turns to look at the window. I inhaled deeply, relaxing my nerves before walking up to the foot of her bed.

I put my hands in my jeans pocket. I was too nervous. I don't know where to start or what exact right words will I say to her.

My wolf pace inside me. Walking up in circles.

"What are you waiting for? Go and talk to her!"

I inhaled once again before uttering a word.

"Uhmm... H-how are you?"

My voice comes out nervously and my wolf let out a laugh inside my head.

"Did you just stutter?" He keeps laughing at me.

'Shut up!' I embarrassedly said.

Why am I stuttering?

I hate these nerves!!

"I'm fine. I guess?"

My attention abruptly went to her upon hearing her. She spoke in a whisper and it was gentle to hear.

Her eyes went to me again and said "I'm sorry about what I did earlier. I shouldn't have--have slapped you in the face. It was rude of me to do that. Ah-I'm sor-"

"You don't have to feel sorry. It's nothing, really. It's fine with me." I felt she was nervous and scared at the same time. Her heart continuously beats loudly in my ears. I look at her with concern and abruptly her eyes went down to her tightly clasped hands.

I slowly took a step beside her bed where my mother was seated earlier and sat in the chair. I was about to reach out and hold her hand but I stop when I saw that she had tightly closed her eyes. I sense the fear coming off from her and her body slightly shook.

I felt hurt to see how a simple action could affect her instantly.

"It was all because of the tragic happenings she had been through.." said my wolf "She needs us. She needs someone to get through all of these."

And that someone is us.

We are her mate. TRUE MATE.

That is why we are here to make all her pains go away. We will make her forget all the hurt and suffering she had gone through. And I will make sure that from now on, no one will ever hurt her. I will make sure those tragic memories of her past will turn into a happy wonderful thing. We will fill her up with beautiful and amazing moments. And I will make sure that her heart would be filled with so much joy.

And especially she will be filled with our love.

Not hesitating anymore, I reach out my hand towards her clasp hands and hold it tight.

"Don't be afraid. I will not hurt you. I will never do that to you."

She opens her eyes and looks up at me. I can see her tears are just on edge threatening to fall. I squeeze her hand and brought it up to my lips to lay a gentle kiss.

As her skin touches my lips, a current of electricity went through my lips and stream down all over my body. I can't stop myself to let out a low moan upon kissing her hand.

'Shit!' Screams my head.

What was that?

"It is the sensation you feel towards our mate. That is how you will feel every time you touch her" my wolf said happily "And I can't wait to see her wolf!"

I set my eyes on her and saw that she was staring back at me and she is blushing while her hands went stiff.

"You don't have to be scared. From now on you are now safe. I won't let anyone hurt you."

She took a deep breath and felt like she will cry any minute now but she is stopping herself to cry infront of me. I carefully sat beside her bed and slowly pull her head towards my chest.

And then her cries filled the room. She began to sob. Her face was buried in my chest and I just let her cry. Caressing her hair. Embracing her tenderly.

My heart aches along with her cries, how painful she was.

Minutes had passed, and we sat just like that until her cries had run out and dried out I think but she just stopped herself from crying more. Don't want to embarrass herself anymore for crying infront of me and for soaking my shirt with her tears.

She pulled away from my hold and wipe her tears. I sat back down in the chair while she compose herself.

And out of nowhere, I heard a rumbling noise. I furrowed my brows at the strange sound and I look at her where her hands is on her stomach.

And then the rumbling sound goes again and it was coming from her.

From her stomach.

"She needs food. She's already hungry. Go get some food for our mate and feed her!" Ordered my wolf.

I smiled at her and she blush embarrassed.

"It's okay. It's normal that you feel hungry for you hadn't been awake for a week and so your body naturally needs food right now to gain your strength back."

I can sense she is confused by what I was saying but I will explain it to her later. For now, she needs to eat first.

And so I stand up from the chair and excuse myself to get her some food but before leaving her, I lay a soft loving kiss on her forehead and said

"I'll be right back."
