It’s about an hour before I shift so the party is in full swing. I decided on an outdoor party, just because of the shifting. It is gorgeous.

The tent is black and when you walk in there are blue up lights against the black drapery. The tables are round and adorned with black table clothes. The chairs are black and have royal blue sashes. The tables are decorated with white roses in silver vases. The chargers are royal blue with silver flatware. The ceiling has black drapery as well and blue twinkling lights. There’s a stage where dad will hand the title over to me and a huge dance floor with a DJ off to the left.

The food will be buffet style, you know us wolves love to eat. We have several food stations: pasta, chicken, steak, salad, fish, cheese, veggie, potato, taco, and sandwich stations. Let’s not forget my dessert station: cheesecake, cupcake, mousse, cobblers, brownie, mini pie, cookie, and chocolate fountain stations. When I say I went all out, I did my thang.

Mom, Onyx, and I walk in, and my wolf is stirring. I feel like I am going insane.

“Mom, I feel anxious. My wolf is pacing in my head, and it is hard to concentrate.”

“Don’t worry sweetheart it is just nerves…. Or your mate.” She giggles.

“Wh... what? My ma... mate?” I stutter.

“Don’t worry sweetheart, when you shift you will know instantly if your mate is here.” Mom says.

All I can think of now is me finding my mate. Storm comes up and takes Onyx from me.

“I will take him for now until the ceremony is over, and once you have shifted. That way he can meet his wolf mommy and then I’ll take him to his room.” Storm says.

I nod and my dad makes his way to the stage. Just great I didn’t even get to eat!

“Good evening, everyone today I have the greatest honor of handing my title over to my beautiful daughter. Gianna would you please come to the stage please” dad says.

Mom escorts me to the stage and stands to the side of me. Readying me for the transition of becoming the Alpha.

“I have spent the last twenty years as Alpha of this pack. I took this pack over from my late father. I have no doubt that my daughter will bring nothing but greatness to this pack. She is a born leader, and I am proud to call her my Alpha. She is making history today as the first female Alpha. Now sweetheart you need to pledge yourself to the pack are you ready?” He says.

I nod.

“Do you promise to protect this pack with your life?” he asks.

“I do”

“Do you promise to stand by your future mate to ensure prosperity and strength?” he asks.

“I do.”

“With that being said. I Anton Lorenzo Federico Alpha of the Golden Paw Pack pass my title to Gianna Antonia Federico, Alpha of the Golden Paw Pack.”

I hold my hand out and dad slices my palm. My blood dripping into a bowl, he proceeds to slice his palm as well and drips blood into the bowl. I feel like I gust of wind flies into my body. I can feel the emotions of all the pack members, hear their voices. Excitement flows through me as I mind link them all at once.

“Thank you for the warm welcome as your new Alpha.”

Everyone around me goes quite, and I fear I did something wrong.

I turn to address the crowd and introduce my Beta, Gamma, and head warrior.

“Thank you for all coming. My first duty as Alpha is to elect my head team. I am sure it is no surprise to any of you that my Beta will be Sierra Rene Johnson.”

We made our pledge and I announce my Gamma.

“My Gamma shall come as no surprise as well. Storm Alvia Federico get your butt up here and pledge yourself as Gamma of our pack” I laugh.

The crowd erupts in laughter, and she runs to the stage, we say our pledge and I turn to the crowd once again. I know this will come as a surprise to everyone including my father.

“Now I know some of you are probably wondering who my head warrior will be. I have thought long and hard, I have studied numerous wolves while they trained. I quizzed them without their knowledge and trained with them. I could not have found a better wolf than my brother Aaron Ezekiel Federico, please come up here and swear yourself to the pack.”

Aaron looks at me surprised, but I have seen how much he loves to fight. How dedicated he is to this pack. He will be a great trainer and a great head warrior.

My dad also has a shocked expression on his face and my mom she just beams with pride.
