POV Gianna:

Next month is our big move to the former palace. I am packing some items in my closet, and I come across a box I have not seen in years. I grab it down and wipe the dust off.

I open the box and it is full of pictures and memorabilia of when I was younger, I sit down and go through it. I find some pictures of me and Aaron, some movie passes to some movies, then I come across something I have looked for, for a very long time. I take the bracelet out that Lucas gave me for my fourteenth birthday, my eyes glisten with tears and my mood saddens.

“Oh Lucas, I wish you could see how everything turned out. Onyx is now Alpha of our pack; I am going to be a double Queen. Life has definitely turned out not how I was expecting. I miss you my dear friend, my first love.”

A few tears escape my eyes and I wipe them away. I can smell my husband enter our bedroom and I quickly put the box back where it was.

“You know it’s okay to miss him still.” Rasheed says.

He comes up behind me and wraps his arms around me, inhaling my scent.

“I know, I just don’t want to be disrespectful to you for showing emotions for another man.”

“He was your first love and best friend; I would be concerned if you didn’t still have love for him Gianna. It is okay to have feelings my love.” He says.

I turn around and place my head on his chest and inhale his scent. I feel calmness spread all over my body.

“Now, I came up here because the kids wanted to talk with you about something. Those little sneaks won’t even tell me.” He chuckles.

I laugh and we head out to find the kids. Onyx is waiting at the back door near the pool hall. My mind is all over the place because I don’t see any of my other children. Onyx nods to Rasheed and Rasheed heads out the back doors. I am perplexed as to what is happening and I do not like it. Onyx walks me over to the lounge chairs and we both take a seat.

“Mom, I am not sure how you will respond to what I am going to tell you.” Onyx says.

Fear instantly grips my heart, followed by anger. I do not like being unaware of what is going on. I look my son in his eyes and can see nothing. Stoic expression like his father and I taught him. I try to pick his brain, but my son has blocked me.

“Calm down mom, I will get to it. Just trust me. It is about the club house.” Onyx says.

I jump up and back away from my son.

“No! No! The only thing I asked of you is to not disturb the club house. Just maintain it. Please do not tell me you are demolishing it.”

“Mom, calm down nothing is happening to the club house. It is what is going on inside the club house.” He says.

“Onyx out with it, I do not have the patience for this.”

I am angry, Onyx rubs his hand through his hair and lets out a sigh.

“I knew this was a long shot” he mumbles.

“What was a long shot?”

“Well, I thought it would be a good idea to have a going away party for you.” Onyx says.

“That’s fine Onyx, but what does it have to do with the club house?”

I see the frustration and sadness growing in Onyx’s eyes. I want to shield my heart, but I also want to make my kids happy.

“Mom can you just trust me and come with me? Promise not to be mad at Savanna, Jahziel, and Niayla, you can be mad at me after, but don’t take it out on my siblings please.” Onyx sighs.

We stand up and walk outside. It is a gorgeous June day. We walk around the pool house and towards the club house. I stop dead in my tracks.

“Onyx, no! I do not want to go in there. I have not stepped foot in there since Lucas died. Please.”

Tears pool in my eyes. Onyx comes and stands next to me and puts an arm around my shoulders rubbing my arm.

“Mom you are one of the strongest people I know, as far as I can see this is one of your weaknesses that does not need to be a weakness. You can do this; I will be with you every step of the way. I just ask that you come in and stay for a few minutes, if it is too much then we can leave.” Onyx says.

I nod my head and inch slowly towards the door, only a few people know I do not step foot into the club house out of fear. We reach the front door and I begin to sweat; my heart is beating extremely fast, and I feel like I am panting. Onyx rubs my back and opens the door.

“Surprise”

We step in and everyone that I love is here. Rasheed is standing next to Trigger and Alex. Aaron and Storm are smiling at me. I make eye contact with Sierra, and she has tears in her eyes. She mouths “I’m proud of you” and I nod my head. I see my other children running up to me.

“Mom, I can’t believe you finally made it in here, the party is in the gym, and everyone is waiting for you.” Savanna says.

“I’ll be in there in just a minute Savvy, you guys go ahead.”

Everyone heads towards the gym, and I get a chance to look around. Onyx is by my side as he said he would.

We walk through the entrance and get to where the closet to the tunnels are located. I freeze and look down.

Panic grips me and I visualize me holding Lucas in my arms as his life slipped away. I drop to my knees and rub the floor where his blood once laid. Tears are pouring out my eyes. Onyx kneels down next to me and places his head on my shoulders.

“He is okay now mom, he says it’s okay for you to let go and be happy. He will always love you and you will always be the most beautiful werewolf he has ever seen.” Onyx says.

I look at my son speechless, unsure how he would know that. As far as I know Onyx can only see the future not the past.

“The night before I shifted, the Moon Goddess came to me. She said she had a present for you. Lucas appeared. He told me to get you here one day to overcome the loss of him, it is something that you harbor, and no one knows about it. He told me to tell you that you will always be the most beautiful werewolf he has ever seen so you know he is still with you and watching over you. Lucas left and the Moon Goddess blessed me with another gift. The power to heal, I may not be as strong of a Fae and have all the powers you and Savanna have, but I was blessed to have the power to heal. I want to heal your heart mom.” Onyx says.

He kisses me on the forehead and helps me get to my feet. He wipes my tears away with a tissue and embraces me in hug. The tables have turned. I feel like I have turned into the child, and he is the parent.
