Chapter Eighteen

“Do you recognise them?” She lifts their head as I gasp.

“Craig!” I cry as Elise holds me back.

“I told you she would remember him…Sebastian is probably hidden somewhere incapacitated” Isabelle smirks.

“Serena…” Craig groans in pain as Isabelle shoves him to the floor as she pours a liquid over his body as he screams out in pain…Wolfsbane…

“Stop! Leave him alone!” I scream.

“Get out! Get out of here now!” I shout through the link to my pack.

“Tsk tsk, trying to link to your pack won’t work in here love” She smirks as Elise kicks my legs from under me.

“I trusted you” Elise snarls in my ear as she binds my wrists painfully in silver shackles as it bites into my skin.

“Now you will watch your mate die in front of you” Isabelle smirks as she waves a hand and he rises.

“NO! Craig!” I scream as he looks at me with pain in his eyes.

“I love you” He cries as he begins to scream.

A whizz sound goes past my ear as a dart lodges itself into Isabelle’s shoulder as she looks at it in shock.

Craig drops to the ground as Elise flits around to her.

“What is this?!” Isabelle screams as she pulls out the dart in shock.

“That my dear is a little potion I helped the hunters cook up” I hear a familiar voice behind me.

“PAULINE!” I cry out as she smirks and heads towards Elise as she raises a hand and she rises.

“You’ll die for this” Elise snarls.

“No, I don’t think I will” Pauline smirks as she flicks her hand as Elise’s head snaps.

“That won’t kill her” I mutter.

“I know, but he wants that pleasure” she points outside to the battle raging outside as my father’s huge black wolf enters the room.

Pauline goes to help me, but I shake my head, I wasn’t the one hurt like Craig.

“Help Craig Pauline” I cry as she darts to his side as she tries to rid him of the wolfsbane covering his body.

“Alpha!” Liv rushes to my side as she hisses at the pain of opening the silver shackles but continues to do so anyway as I’m released.

“Thank you” I hug her quickly before turning to a shrieking Isabelle.

“You will all die! Humans will never let you live! Hunters will always come after you!” Isabelle screams as I pick her up by the hair.

“You hurt my mate, you thought you would get the better of me…How does it feel to be human now?” I smirk as I throw her to the floor in front of my father as he growls and pounces on her as he tears her apart, blood covering the ground.

“Craig” I cry as I rush to his side, placing my hands on his cheeks as I feel every raw emotion fill my heart as he looks up at me.

“Serena” He murmurs as he falls into my lap and passes out.

“Pauline…What’s happening?!” I cry.

“He’s exhausted…He will heal, it will take time, Sebastian was amplifying everything, it nearly tore you both apart…He’ll be ok as long as you stay by him” She kisses my head as I cry.

“OLIVER!” I shout as he darts into the tent.

“Yes Alpha”

“Go to my tent and grab the trunk inside for me will you?” I order as he raises a brow but nods and heads off quickly as Liv goes to help him.

“Serena!” I hear a cry as my mother darts into the tent and rushes to my arms as I burst into tears.

“MUM!” I cry as I hold onto her tight.

“Oh my baby girl, I’m so proud of you” She cries as she caresses my face before stroking Craig’s with concern.

I spot a vampire sneak in as I shift quickly surprising everyone as I leap over their heads and tumble into it as it tries to tear at my throat.

I am quickly joined by two wolves I recognise as we ripped it to pieces as the grounds go quiet, the battle was over quickly.

“Serena get your ass back to your mate NOW!” Pauline shouts at me.

“Good to see you guys again” I smile as I see the twins shift as we hug quickly before I leap back into the tent, curling around Craig in my wolf form as he lays shaking, cold and healing slowly against me.

“Alpha” Oliver and Liv come in carrying the trunk as my parents and Lucien look at it confused.

“What’s in it cupcake?” Lucien frowns.

“Open it…” I smirk.

My father looks at it as he steps in front of it and lifts the lid to find Sebastian struggling against his binds as I hear a series of growls.

“Clever girl” Pauline laughs.

“Do kill him slowly” I chuckle through the link as I nuzzle my mate as he groans against me.

“Serena…” he murmurs.

“I’m here baby, I’m here” I nuzzle him as his eyes open.

“You’re a fucking idiot…” He mutters as the twins begin to burst into laughter.

“I love you too Craig” I chuckle.

I close my eyes and focus my power on him, trying to help him through our bond as I feel the surge of love that floods through our hearts, an energy surging through me into him as he seems to gain some energy.

I shift back into my human form as he hugs into me tightly before I kiss him deeply, I felt at home once again.

“You’re never leaving my sight again” He murmurs in my lips.

“I don’t ever want to leave you again…” I smile into our kiss.

“Little wolf…Don’t do this…You know I love you little wolf…Don’t let them hurt me…” Sebastian begins to beg as Lucien takes his gag from his mouth.

“You controlled me…You tried to tear me from my mate…You caused him so much pain…You tried to take everything from me!” I growl.

“I will never get over how bright her eyes get” Daniel murmurs.

“Mate…” David murmurs as I notice his eyes are looking directly at Liv as I smirk.

“Liv” nod to him as she turns, and her eyes go wide.

“We accept her” David and Daniel smirk at the same time.

“She’s no monster, she has a little rage but she’s not a monster, I will always accept her” Craig smiles as he pecks my cheek before groaning at the movement.

“Our daughter is the bravest and strongest woman I’ve ever known, she isn’t a monster and people like you are the real monsters, it is people like you that give our kind the worst name, which is why we made a pact with the hunters, we will be working closely with them to make new rules, a new kingdom where we can work together against people who flout us and hurt humans for fun. Like you” My father looks at me with pride as a tear falls from my eyes as I look around me at the people who had become my family.

Then he looked towards Sebastian and his eyes went dark with rage as I smirked.

“Grayson try not to kill him before we get a word in” A gruff voice said as the hunter who I had met before with Lucien and Dad came in with a smirk.

“Trust me I’m not going to kill him Christopher…Not yet” Dad growls

“He’s too much of a pup to do that…SHE couldn’t kill me, and you think you will” Sebastian laughs as I growl throatily.

“You’re human now Sebastian, I could kill you with the flick of a wrist right now…But you don’t deserve death” I growl as Craig sits up and hugs me tight to him.

I heard a painful howl as my eyes darted outside.

“Oliver go!” I order as he nods, shifts, and runs out.

“Go to your pack, I’ll be ok for a moment” Craig kisses my lips.

“I told you I’m not leaving you” I reply, but my wolf wanted to check on the pack.

“Serena, go to your pack. I’m not going anywhere” He nods as I look into his eyes before kissing him deeply, getting up and shifting as I shoot out towards the painful howls.

“Alpha! We have a problem! In the trees!” Oliver shouts through the link as I look over one of my wolves, writhing in pain as my eyes then dart to the trees as I see a small group of magic wielders and vampires.

I howl calling my pack to me.

“What is it?” My father bounds to me as I growl towards the tree.

“We’ve got this” Christopher walks up with a huge gun and a few other hunters as they run towards the group.

“He can’t be serious” I roll my eyes as two of his hunters go down writhing in pain as I snort and burst forward.

I howl ordering my pack to follow as vampires flit towards us, joining in our battle.

“Go for the magic wielders” I order my pack as Oliver runs by my side as we leap into action.

He’s gone in amidst the battle fighting off a few vampires as someone calls to me.

“Hello Serena” one of them says as I recognise them as one of the guys from Thomas’s house…

“Yusif” I growl as I leap at him, he darts from me as he jabs a knife into my leg as he laughs while I howl in pain.

“Yusif! Callum! Let’s go!” Ben shouts as my eyes dart to him. The rest of the men who had attacked me years ago were all here…All part of this world.

Then as quick as they arrived, they all disappeared as Ben flicked his wrist and used magic.

I whimpered at my leg as it wouldn’t stop bleeding as I limped through the people who were around me.

“Serena! Your leg!” Daniel called out as he sniffed at the wound.

“I’m fine, go help the others” I growl at him.

“Oliver?” I link but there was no answer as I looked around in a panic.

“Oliver!” I howl.

Ignoring the pain in my leg I ran around the site as I looked from person to person, hunters were helping binding up wounds on my wolves and some of my pack were helping them get back to the tents.

“DAD!” I see my Dad helping out Christopher as he limped back to the tent.

“Serena! Thank god…Your leg!” He looks at me shocked.

“Have you seen Oliver?” I say in a panic.

“No…Have you linked to him?” Dad answers as Christopher looks confused as he was only getting half a conversation.

“What’s happened?” Christopher asks.

“She can’t find one of her wolves” Dad answers.

“Serena!” I hear Vance and Tony call out as they arrive in the clearing as I bolt to them, nuzzling into them.

I shift painfully as Tony stares at my leg.

“Your leg Serena, we need to fix that now!” Tony says.

“Never mind my leg, one of my best wolves are missing” I growl.

“Pauline!” Vance shouts as he bends in front of me as I howl in pain as he touches my bleeding wound.

“It’s infected with wolfsbane, it needs to be cleaned or you will die” Tony says as he picks me up suddenly, flitting to the tent.

“Alpha!” Liv looks at me in shock.

“Liv, find Oliver…” I hiss as Pauline comes to my side poking at my wound.

“Serena, baby, oh my god, are you ok?!” Craig kneels beside me as I see the worry in his eyes.

“No worse than you baby” I hiss as Pauline pours a liquid over my wound as she had Craig.

I scream out in pain.

“Alpha…No one has seen Oliver since the fight…” Liv darts into the tent once more with David by her side.

“Sebastian is gone too…” My mother mumbles with a sigh as I look at her in shock.

“What…No…No…No…” I scream in anger.

“We’ll find them, they won’t stay hidden for long” Christopher walks in being held up by my father as I scowl at him.

“So I’m just supposed to sit and wait? One of my wolves is out there with a group of monstrous men who made my life hell! They’ll do anything to get back at me, including killing him or using him!...Oh god…Carla…”

“Carla is safe…We found her, and I undid the spell that they had on her. She’s at The Pit, her and her family are in your flat right now.” Pauline smiles.

“Thank you” I murmur as I nod to her, Tony, and Vance.

“We’ll get Oliver back” Liv says timidly as she hugs into David who can’t keep his hands off her.

“If we don’t then it is just one casualty of war” Christopher says as I growl and limp towards him angrily.

“WOAH! Serena calm down” Craig steps in front of me as his hands cup my face.

“He is not just a casualty of war, he is one of my pack, part of my family. He is my BETA!” I growl as people gasp.

“Damn…You decided…” Liv smiles.

“We WILL find him Serena, I promise” My father puts a hand on my shoulder as he looks me in the eyes before glaring at Christopher.

“Boss won’t like this” Christopher rans a hand over his face as he glares at me.

“I won’t like what…” An older man, maybe seventy-years-old walks in, in a tidy grey suit, everything about him screamed power and well-groomed.

“Sir, this girl wants to go on a suicide mission to get one of her wolves back” Christopher bows his head at the man.

“Missing half the story there…” Lucien grumbles behind me.

“This…Girl…Christopher I have no doubt I know exactly who…this girl…is and you will show the proper respect!” The man snaps as he glares at Christopher as I try to hold in the giggle at his shocked face but wasn’t able to as I heard Lucien snigger behind me.

“You find this funny?” Christopher snaps at me as I feel Craig hold my hand tightly.

“Yeah, why don’t you go run behind your master” I snigger.

“She’s definitely your child Grayson” The man laughs.

“No doubt about it Calvin, she’s the spitting image of me and Cassandra. My wife’s looks and my personality” Dad smirks.

“SERENA!” I hear Oliver shout in my head painfully as I groan, my hand to my head.

“Serena! What is it? Baby…” Craig cups my face once more as he looks at me concerned.

“Oliver…He’s…He’s trying to link me…It hurts…” I cry at the pain in my head.

“Someone explain to me right now everything that has happened” Calvin demands as my father, Lucien and a few of the others go into detail of everything that had happened in the last few hours.

“Oliver! Can you hear me? Where are you?” I try to link back through the pain.

“Wolfsbane…Hurt…Dark…Bait…Leave me…” He says in short bursts as I only catch a few words.

“Serena, give me your hands, let me help you” Pauline says as she takes my hands and floods my body with power.

“OLIVER! Where are you?!” I call again.

“Serena…how are you so clear?” He sounds like he’s in so much pain.

“No time, where are you Oliver?” I ask again.

“I don’t know, they knocked me out and it’s dark down here…They want to use me as bait to get to you Serena, don’t come” He murmurs.

“You’re my beta, of course I’m coming” I say back.

“Beta?”

“Yes” I can feel the connection begin to ebb.

“Alpha, please just leave me” he sobs.

“Not a chance. I will find you Oliver, I promise, we’re coming, just hold on” I say before the link disappears.

“Did it help?” Liv asks.

“I got to talk to him, but he has no idea where he is, just that it’s dark, they knocked him out and want to use him as bait to get me” I sigh.
