Chapter 45
Patrina was pressurized to drink and her cheeks were flushed bright red.
The guy started to get handsy with Brittany. But little did he know Brittany was ready for him, she kicked him in the leg. The man let go out of pain, while Brittany seized the opportunity to dash out the door and slammed it shut.
Immediately, there were sounds of frustrated yelling and a loud bang from the room.
Brittany locked the door, straightened her dress, and was about to head downstairs when she caught sight of a man. The man was tall and wore a mask, covering half his face leaving only his eyes visible.
“Who are you?” Brittany asked.
The last thing Brittany expected at such a critical time was a stranger. Where did he come from? She clutched the doorknob instinctively. Did he see what just happened?
Isaac was glad he was wearing a mask. Seeing the panic on Brittany’s face, he shifted his
gaze.
“Sorry, I’m just passing by,” he said.
He went upstairs without giving Brittany another look.
Relieved that he didn’t meddle, Brittany picked up her skirt and headed towards the ballroom.
After Isaac went upstairs, Wesley was waiting for him. “Why did you agree to attend the banquet again?” he asked.
Wesley was puzzled seeing Isaac wearing a mask.
Isaac went over to the window and looked at the open garden outside the mansion without
saying a word.
The guests had almost all arrived in the banquet hall. It was almost time for the ceremony, but Patrina was nowhere to be seen.
Mr. and Mrs. Dustin tried calling her but couldn’t get through.
Brittany came downstairs, and seeing all of this, she was filled with anticipation, curious about how the engagement ceremony would proceed.
The start time had passed and Patrina was still not there. Robert couldn’t sit still anymore, so he sent a ser vant to look for her, but the ser vant never came back..
Finn couldn’t sit still either, so he got up and went upstairs.
Mr. and Mrs. Dustin, fearing something had happened, followed him. Seeing this, the other guests also followed upstairs.
Hannah saw that Brittany had returned. “Where’s Patrina?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” Brittany replied.
“Let’s go upstairs and see.” Hannah suggested.
Hannah never missed an opportunity to watch the drama. She led Brittany upstairs. Before they could reach the door, they heard a scream!
“Patty, my daughter!” Patrina’s mother screamed.
“Mom, help me–” Patrina’s scream resonated, everyone looked towards the source of the sound.
Patrina’s face was flushed red. She was pinned to the bed, a madman was on top of her, and there was blood between her legs!
Gianna couldn’t take it. She shoved the madman off and shielded Patrina, “Patty.”
Patrina was shivering. “It was Brittany. She did this to me-
The guests were stunned, a few bold ones took out their phones and started filming. The man huddled in the corner, crying softly, apparently really hurt by the kick.
Robert was livid. What was supposed to be a perfect wedding was ruined, and he charged at Brittany.
Brittany stepped back, avoiding his slap. “Mr. Dustin, shouldn’t you be thinking about how to wrap up this wedding fiasco? Brittany countered.
Now that Patrina had lost her virginity, Finn wouldn’t marry her. Sure enough, the Boulton family declared the engagement off, Patrina was so angry that she fainted.
Robert pointed at Brittany, “You’ll pay for this!”
After Patrina was taken away, Finn stormed out of the room, and grabbed Brittany’s hand tightly, “Come with me!”
Brittany was led to the garden on the first floor by Finn, her wrist red from his grip, but she didn’t feel the pain.
“It was you, wasn’t it?”
Finn looked at her with disgust: “You knew how important the engagement banquet was, yet you deliberately ruined Patty’s reputation!”
How could Brittany do something so disgusting? Her schemes were so ruthless!
“Actually, Patrina was trying to set a trap for me.” Brittany shook her head. “From the beginning until now, I didn’t do anything to wrong her.”
“Brittany, you really disgust me!”
The Brittany he knew was not like this, definitely not!
“Smack!”
Hannah had been following behind; hearing him say such things to Brittany, Hannah slapped Finn, leaving him dazed.
“Finn, shut up, you’re disappointed? You’re disgusted? What are you disgusted with? If it weren’t for Brittany, you would have been long gone by now, what right do you have to say these things now?”
