“Bri wouldn’t do such a thing.” William gently pushed Sydney away, firmly gripping Robert’s hand, shielding Brittany behind him, “There might be other reasons, Mr. Dustin, we should check the surveillance footage first.”
Robert didn’t expect William to side with Brittany, and slightly annoyed, he pulled his hand back,
“If you keep this up. I’ll have you outta here!” He didn’t care whether Brittany was misunderstood.
What he cared about was that the banquet had to go smoothly!
Sydney’s face darkened, “William, I’m cold, could you take me upstairs to change?”
She didn’t expect William to still trust Brittany at a time like this.
Brittany thanked William for his protection, “William, thank you.”
“No sweat.”
Fresh out the pool, soaked to the bone, Hannah cleared her throat, “Bri, why don’t you take William to change?”
Brittany quickly snapped back to reality and left with William.
Sydney tried to follow, but was blocked by Hannah, “Sydney, give it a rest, William’s into Bri. If you dare bully her again, I’ll have my brother sort you out!”
Sydney was furious. She pushed Hannah aside, grabbed her skirt, and chased after them.
Hannah excitedly picked up a glass of champagne. If Brittany wasn’t married, she’d have really wanted to play matchmaker and pair her up with William.
Brittany took William went to the changing room, where spare suits were available.
“William, you change first, I’ll go get you some water.”
Although the temperature wasn’t low, the pool water was chilly. He had just been discharged from the hospital. If he caught a cold, she would feel guilty.
William nodded. He picked out a fitting suit, and just as he finished dressing, the changing room door was pushed open,
“Bri, how did you… Why are you here?”
William saw Sydney standing behind him and frowned, “Could you please leave?”
Sydney wouldn’t give up, “William, Brittany’s married, why are you still protecting her?”
William straightened his clothes, “We’re friends. I can’t just stand by and watch you bully her.”
“But she pushed me into the water…”
“Sydney.” William cut her off, his eyes cold. “You think I don’t know the truth?”

Sydney was stunned. Although she was the one who started it, she didn’t think she owed Brittany an apology.
Sydney bit her lip, deciding to change her strategy. “William, I know you like Brittany, but she doesn’t like you, do you know why she quit? Because she wanted to avoid you. She didn’t want anything to do with you.”
Sydney stepped forward, expressing her feelings urgently, “William, I’m the one who really likes you, don’t you notice me?”
William knew Sydney liked him, but he had already turned her down.
“Sydney, we’re just colleagues. I have no feelings for you.”
William’s tone was as gentle as ever, but his words were cold, “Whom I like is my business. none of yours.”
Sydney froze, and William opened the door. A few steps out, he saw Brittany coming up from the first floor with a glass of water.
“William, have some water.”
William smiled and took the glass, “You’re not hurt, right?”
“Nope.”
Brittany shook her head, and a ser vant appeared behind her, who was in charge of taking care. of Donna.
“Miss Brittany. Donna would like to have a chat with you. She asked you to come with me.”
“Okay, got it.”
Brittany said goodbye to William, then followed the ser vant into Donna’s room, the serv ant. silently stepped back and suddenly pushed Brittany into the room.
“Get in!”
With a bang, the door was closed. Only then did Brittany realize she’d been set up; the Dustin family was always looking to take advantage of her.
Then, the door was pushed open. Patrina walked in, followed by a goofy man drooling non-stop. Sure enough, the Dustin family had arranged for another man to meet her!
Patrina, dressed in a wedding gown, looked noble and elegant. She took the wine from the serv ant’s hand, reached out to Brittany, trying to force her to drink.
Brittany beat her to the punch, sn atched the glass, and quickly gripped Patrina’s chin, pouring the wine into her mouth!
