Grace seemed to have mellowed a bit, and she gestured for Sydney to sit down. “Sydney, have you had dinner yet?”
“Yeah, I did.”
Actually, Sydney was here to snoop around.
“Isaac. I heard you got hitched, how come you didn’t bring your wife to meet us?”
Sydney barely managed to say the word “wife,” without a flash of humiliation in her eyes.
Isaac, his hand holding a cup, paused slightly, giving Sydney a sidelong glance.
“That’s my business, none of yours.”
He and Sydney weren’t close at all, and he didn’t need to explain anything to her.
Sydney’s smile froze.
Grace cleared her throat. “That’s just how Zac is. Sydney, don’t take it personally.”
Isaac didn’t want to get entangled with her, so he found an excuse and left. Only Sydney and Grace were left in the yard.
“Grace, have you met my cousin’s wife?”
“I have.”
Speaking of this, Grace seemed quite Interested. “She’s a very pretty young girl.”
Sydney was startled. Grace had such a good impression of Brittany? Could it be that Grace helped set them up?
“Grace, how did she meet Isaac?”
Grace smiled but didn’t answer. Some things were not meant to be public.

Sydney noticed Grace’s bias and bit her lip resentfully. What was so special about Brittany that even a hard-to-please person like Grace would stand by her?

Sydney carefully changed the subject, but Grace wasn’t interested. After a few words, she went upstairs to rest.
Sydney had no choice but to leave. As she left Salter Manor, Sydney kicked a tire in frustration: “So annoying, who would bother with you if it wasn’t for the Salter family?”
As Grace went upstairs, the butler behind her helped her. “Should we look into what Ms. Ramsey said?”
“I’ve met Bri, she doesn’t seem like someone who would plagiarize. Find out more.”
“Understood.”
Brittany went back to the Chester family with Hannah. Hannah’s parents had always been kind to Brittany. Today. With the Dustin family scandal causing a stir in town, they were more protective of Brittany.
Hannah’s mother, Tanya, comforted her for a while, then cooked dinner. After dinner, Hannah took Brittany upstairs.
They grew up together, and the Chester family even kept a room for Brittany. After Brittany took. a bath, she climbed into bed. Hannah insisted on sleeping with her. They talked about the past. few years and received a call from Patrina.
“Brittany, it’s all because of you. Finn is still in the hospital. Why did you ruin my happiness-
Patrina’s crying was shrill, but Brittany was unmoved. “Even if he dies, it has nothing to do with me.”
Brittany’s cold voice transmitted through the phone. Finn, who had just woken up, turned pale after hearing Brittany’s words. Her indifference towards him was unexpected, yet somewhat expected. She always had a clear line between love and hate.
Patrina hung up the phone and turned to Finn accusingly. “You see, Brittany doesn’t love you at all. She already has another man. She doesn’t deserve you!”
Finn pushed Patrina away. His previous affection for her was replaced by a slight disgust. “I’m the one who did her wrong. It’s my fault she won’t forgive me.”
He believed that Brittany still had feelings for him. Once he was discharged from the hospital, he would pursue Brittany again. He would give her the best life had to offer.
They could start over.
Patrina’s face changed drastically. She clutched the bed sheet. Finn still wanted to make up with Brittany?
