The news of Joie’s incarceration sent shock waves through the city. Every show Joie had ever starred in was pulled from the shelves, and her social media accounts were silenced. Her management team, quick to distance themselves at the first sign of trouble, was now issuing public apologies in an attempt to save their reputation. 

Joie’s restaurant, once a bustling hub of activity, suffered greatly. Some of the more zealous fans even vandalized the place in their outrage. The scandal quickly became the talk of the town, trending on Twitter and stirring up a frenzy of gossip.

It was a dish Brittany had always loved, and he learned to make it just for her.

When they got home, Brittany called Daniel, who was away at camp and set to fly back to Imperial City that night. 

Meanwhile, Isaac changed into comfortable clothes and started preparing the beef- cutting it into cubes, blanching it, and setting it to stew. 

The savory aroma of the braised beef filled the air as Brittany video-chatted with Daniel.

After the call, Brittany wandered into the kitchen, where Isaac was now washing crabs. “I thought you were making beef?” 

Pointing at the large, plump crabs in the sink, she couldn’t help but think how delicious they would taste. 

“I remembered you wanted to try some spicy crab.” 

Isaac meticulously cleaned the crabs, chopped them up, and dusted them with flour before frying them to seal in their flavor. Adding a variety of spices, he created a steaming dish of spicy crab, garnishing it with a handful of fresh green onions just before 

serving. 

The tantalizing scent was too much for Brittany, and she salivated at the thought of the 

feast. 

Isaac picked a particularly succulent piece, offering it to her with the words, “Say ‘ahh.” 

She did so gladly, taking in the spicy, savory taste of the crab, and smearing a bit of sauce on her lips. 

Unable to resist, Isaac leaned in with a husky voice. “Is it good?” 

Blissfully unaware of the impending ‘danger,’ Brittany praised the dish without reservation. “It’s delicious.” 

Anger could wait; she was too in love with Isaac’s culinary skills. 

After watching her devour the spicy crab, Isaac scooped her up suddenly. 

“Wait, we haven’t had dinner yet.” 

Brittany struggled. 

But Isaac was too eager, and his lips met hers, tasting the spicy flavor of the crab. He typically avoided spicy food, but in that moment, nothing else mattered. With a kick, the door shut behind them, and he pressed her against the wall. “Dinner can wait.”
