AYSU

When she came to, Aysu’s eyes could barely open. But she was able to tell that she was no longer in Nirel’s house. She was sprawled on a very cold floor and it took her some seconds to adjust to the discomfort of that moment.

Then, she opened her eyes and noted the intense darkness of t he room she was in. It was so dark that she feared that something deadly would crawl into the room without her knowing.

The only source of light was a very tiny opening at the very bottom of the wall behind her.

“Hello,” Aysu called while she got to her feet. “Is anyone here?”

It was somewhat foolish of her to cry out in such a manner, but when one is in an unpredictable situation, anything and everything has to be tried out no matter how foolish it might seem.

“Excuse me!” Aysu’s voice became louder. “Is anyone there? Where the fuck is this place?”

“Shut up!” A disgruntled voice replied from a distance. The voice was feminine and it suggested that its owner was stressed to an immeasurable point.

“You… You shut up.” Aysu didn’t scream back, but her tone was firm enough to get a snarl in response. “What is this place?”

“Our hell. And now, your hell,” the person surprisingly replied. “I hope that answers your question.”

Aysu scoffed. “No, it doesn’t.” She took a few steps closer while hoping that she would find a way out. But a blockage that seemed like a barred door stopped her. “Why am I here? Why are you here? What exactly is going on here?”

“You don’t sound like you are from this pack.”

“I am not. I arrived today with my husband.” Aysu’s eyes widened the moment she mentioned Ximun. She could already tell that he would be searching for her, so she exposed her mind link so that they would be able to communicate at any point.

“How sad. He did not let you enjoy your stay.”

“Who didn’t let me enjoy my stay?” Aysu asked, urgency in her voice while her hands wrapped the bars which she still couldn’t see. “Who is this person?”

“You really don’t know?”

“Huh…” Aysu urged herself to tone down the sarcasm that she was about to spew. “I am very new to this place, so I don’t.”

“Ah, yes. If you had known about the truth of the terrible reality we live here, you wouldn’t have come here.”

The suspense surrounding the discussion was getting too much. So, Aysu sighed and sharply asked, “Who is the person you are talking about?”

“He is the Lycan Wolf.”

“The Lycan Wolf?” Aysu asked while one of her brows jerked.

Lycan Wolves were rare to come by because the power of the lycans is gotten from the enemy of the Goddess. In short, Lycan Wolves are the epitome of pure evil and that’s why they barely existed in the world Aysu grew up in. It was certain that if the Lycans were a common feature in most packs, they would have destroyed the world and ruined all dynamics.

The voice answering Aysu’s questions resumed speaking. “Ever since that Lycan Wolf arrived in this pack, we have not known peace. He uses his power to force every lady in this pack to mate with him.”

That was disgusting to Aysu. “What? Why?”

“He wants all the women to himself, that’s why.”

“But-” The darkness was now something Aysu was getting used to. “But what’s the point of all that?”

“You are asking the wrong question, missus.”

Aysu drew a sharp breath. “Am I next in line to mate with this lycan?” The word ‘mate’ was so distasteful, that Aysu’s lips smeared in disgust.

“Yes. So, sit back, stay calm and let him have his way.”

Aysu didn’t think twice before a furrow formed on her forehead. “Why would I do that? Why would I let a blockhead lycan fool taint the mate bond I already have? I don’t fucking care if he wants to build some stupid kind of harem.” S~ᴇaʀᴄh the ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

The voice chuckled. “A lot of women have said the same thing in the past but they all ended up warming his bed in the worst way. So I will advise you to remain still and let him have his way. Once he is done, he’ll forget about you and leave you down here to live the rest of your life.”

“How can you be so comfortable with the idea of being caged down here? How can you let that monster continue to use your women in such a way?”

Something was angrily slammed against the ground in response.

And a very agitated voice responded, “Do you think we love living this way? We have families out there that are waiting for us but we can’t leave no matter how much we wish for freedom. Don’t you get that this Lycan is stronger than any of us? He is even stronger than our men. All our men have given up on saving us and-”

“Talitha,” another voice in that thick darkness spoke from another direction, “that’s enough.” This voice was calmer and somewhat soothing despite the pain in its tone. “Young lady, we were once like you. We hated the idea of giving in to the monster. But do you know what happened to those who tried to fight the Lycan?”

“Wh-what?”

“They died after mating with him. In a very brutal way, they died and we had to watch every bit of the killing. We experience these things year in and year out, and it has sadly become normal for us. We know how brutal the Lycan is, so please, hold in your pain and let this terrible fate pass.”

“I…” The very thought of giving in saddened Aysu because she could liken the Lycan to the curse that once held her bound. “I am sorry. I can’t do that. I-”

Lights came on and darkness disappeared. Aysu then realised that she was in a very small prison, like a bird in a cage.

She looked to her side and saw that there were many more cages like hers and in each one were women of varying ages and statues.

Aysu was about to attempt to find the exit while continuing the discussion from earlier when heavy footsteps arrived in that space and made the entire floor rumble. The owner of those footsteps was a very tall, burly man who maintained a mean expression even after he stopped his strides in front of Aysu’s cage.

Without much fuss, he flung Aysu’s cage open and dragged her out. Aysu didn’t get a chance to fight back. The man flung her over his shoulder and soon, he bounced out of that room after he made sure to take away the light that had barely stayed on.

XIMUN

The walk to the abode of the so-called Lycan King didn’t take up to an hour. Soon, Ximun and Nirel were walking up the metallic stairs that led to the entrance of the very tall and dramatic-looking building which had traces of Aysu’s scent.

Ximun instantly wished to follow that scent, but its direction was a little messed up, so he stuck with walking with Nirel who opened the door for him.

“We have to find the Lycan’s throne room. I heard he spends a lot of time there.”

“Hmm,” responded Ximun who was more focused on the task of rescuing Aysu.

The men continued walking and after minutes of searching rooms, they finally found a room that was tagged as the throne room. Ximun noted that there were no guards or security forces and that seemed a little strange.

True, Lycans have more powers than a hundred wolves combined, but Ximun was certain that the palatial laws would require security guards positioned at key points.

Ximun saw that his thoughts were already going deep, so he chased them away and walked in after Nirel.

The throne room was very long. The throne was too far from the entrance. But that distance meant nothing when Ximun noticed that a woman was on her knees next to the hideous seat of the Lycan. And that woman was undoubtedly Aysu.

So, he raced towards that point, his arms ready to hold and carry his mate out of that eerie place.

But when he was just a few inches closer to Aysu who appeared to be knocked out, a powerful force lifted him and flung him to the side. Thankfully, Ximun wasn’t too affected, so he was back on his feet within seconds.

But when he looked ahead, he saw that a very furry man was already towering over Aysu. That was the Lycan King.

“I love this,” said the Lycan with a voice that filled the entire space. “I love that I get to take Aysu in front of her supposed true mate. This,” the wolf turned to face Ximun, “will be very interesting.”

The eyes of the Lycan were too familiar.

“Nirel?” Ximun asked after a few seconds of inwardly wondering if he was guessing right.

The Lycan spread his arms to expose the wickedly fine details of his erect half-wolf, half-man body which kept growing in size as seconds passed. “Yes. You have guessed right, dear Ximun. It is me, Nirel.”
