"Do you want to answer the phone?" Ranita calmly handed the decision over to Brendon.

The ringtone kept ringing and showed no sign of stopping.

As expected, and unexpected, the phone rang. Ranita's lips curled into a sarcastic smile. "You better answer it, what if it's an emergency?" Brendon emotionlessly reached for his phone and answered. It wasn't Shannon on the other end, but Holly.

Ranita didn't hear what else was said as Brendon hung up the phone with a serious expression. "Something happened to Shannon, I need to go to the hospital.”

"I'l send someone over to take care of you."

Ranita calmly straightened her clothes and forced out a bland smile towards him. "No need, I can take care of myself."

"Miss Murphy drowning is no small matter; you should leave now." Brendon looked at Ranita with deep-set eyes before pursing his thin lips but ultimately left in haste.

Ranita felt sad inside.

Barely had Brendon left when Dylan arrived at her apartment in haste calling out her name, "Ranita! Why did you come back alone? You didn't even call me!"
