Chapter 10 

She slowly opened the door and adjusted her emotions and expression before walking toward the gate quickly. 

Linda had opened the gate and stood at the door waiting for her when she drove into the courtyard. 

Seeing her coming, Linda hurriedly came up and said. “Ms. Swanson, you’re back! Are you all right?” 

There was a slight worry in her voice as if Aurelia’s strange behavior in the morning had not been eliminated and forgotten. 

Aurelia suddenly glanced at Linda coldly. “What do you think would happen to me?” 

Linda was petrified by Aurelia’s harsh and dissatisfied glare, causing her entire body to freeze in place. 

“Mind your own business. It’s not your place to worry or ask questions about things that don’t concern you. I’m sure you don’t need me to teach you how to be a good housekeeper, do you?” 

Aurelia’s voice was not loud, but her words were like sharp swords. She scared the woman in her forties, and the latter almost cried out. 

She didn’t mean to scare Linda. It was just that she despised the unnecessary concerns shown by others, whether genuine or 

fake. 

Being a naive and ignorant girl in her previous life, she didn’t realize that Linda’s excessive concern about her whereabouts.

Marcellus, seated at his desk in the study, furrowed his brows. The sound of Aurelia’s retreating footsteps only deepened the gloom on his face. 

For some reason, he kept feeling uneasy today. 

Especially since his call to Aurelia at ten o’clock in the morning, he had been anything but calm. 

He felt like something was going to happen. 

He had never experienced such a situation before. 

So he couldn’t suppress his annoyance, 

When he finally declined several lunch invitations and returned home, he discovered that his obedient wife, whom he had particularly asked to stay home and wait for him, was nowhere to be found, which only fueled his anger further.

Unexpectedly, Aurelia told her to go back for dinner to celebrate Melanie’s birthday in advance. 

It suddenly occurred to him that it was International Women’s Day tomorrow. 

It was not only Aurelia’s birthday that day but also their wedding anniversary. 

Marcellus suddenly felt he had chosen the wrong day to discuss divorce with her. 

He was a powerful elite in the business world. It was his usual means to negotiate under the most favorable circumstances to achieve the ultimate goal of victory. 

This time, it was obvious that he had miscalculated. 

He had himself to blame for that. He realized that he had neglected his wife in their marriage. Otherwise, he would never make such a mistake as today. 

It appeared that bringing up the topic of divorce was not something he could do at the moment. 

If the divorce wasn’t on the table, he was unsure about what he could say to Aurelia once she returned. 

Marcellus looked at his watch irritably again. Fifteen minutes had passed, but Aurelia hadn’t arrived home yet. She was five minutes away from the ten minutes she said on the phone.

He held a deep disdain for Aurelia, Michael, and the arranged marriage that his family had imposed on him. 

If it weren’t for her father, Michael, who held the position of the chief deputy sheriff, Marcellus wouldn’t have to marry such

After waiting for more than half an hour, he finally heard the sound of a car approaching, followed by the familiar sound of high–heeled shoes echoing through the corridor. 

Marcellus‘ face finally sank. He was ready to teach her a hard and cold lesson once she pushed the door open and came in, laying the groundwork for asking her for divorce in a few days. Marcellus himself also agreed that today was not the day for 

divorce! 

Unexpectedly, just as the owner of the high–heeled shoes was about to reach the door of his study, she abruptly turned around and walked away. He waited for a few more minutes, but there was no sign of Aurelia returning. 

It felt as if he had prepared himself to deliver a powerful punch, but instead of striking his target and causing damage, his fist landed in a pile of cotton, rendering his effort futile. 

Marcellus‘ expression suddenly became very ugly. 

He suddenly stood up, opened the door of the study heavily, and strode toward their room. 

He wanted to ask what was wrong with Aurelia. Didn’t she realize that he had wasted valuable time waiting for her at home? 

Without knocking, he pushed the door open heavily. 

Before he could question Aurelia harshly, he was stunned by the scene before him.. 

In the room, Aurelia, standing in front of the dressing mirror and wearing a new bra, covered her chest with a cry of 

surprise.

Marcellus didn’t speak. He just quietly looked at her smooth skin and soft waistline. 

It must be said that aside from her family background, Aurelia had an alluring figure that could captivate any man. 

It was clear to Marcellus, who had been her husband for several years. 

Thinking of this, Marcellus couldn’t help but recall the situation when he was in bed with Aurelia. Her stretchy thighs and
