Chapter 9 

This time, Jacob was putting everything on the line by using his car as a stake. 

“What do you think, Hayden? I’ve made a big wager. Do you dare to take up my challenge?” 

“Jacob, don’t regret what you just said.” 

“Ha! Why should I regret it? It’s just a Mulliner 728. I can afford to lose this car, but you must be capable enough to win it. Tell me, Hayden, what will you do if you lose?” 

“Me? Lose? She’s just an ordinary woman. I can easily win her over. It’s impossible for me to lose.” 

After speaking. Hayden took off his sunglasses and cast a sidelong glance at Aurelia’s car. At the traffic lights, the two cars. were positioned side by side, waiting for the signal to change. 

Hayden could tell the woman’s beauty was unmistakable even through the window. 

Since Jacob had issued a challenge, Hayden gamely accepted it. 

“Wow! That’s arrogant. How can you not lose to me? Don’t try to go back on your word.” 

“Damn it. What do you want?” 

“Well, I’m not greedy. Isn’t Logistics Team A planning to replace a batch of military supplies in the second half of this year? I want you to assign the job to me.” 

Jacob spoke so nonchalantly that all Hayden could do afterward was roll his eyes. 

“I know you won’t be so generous. Wait for me here if you dare.”

“Don’t try this trick on me. How can you have no money? If you lack money, then no one can live.” Hayden rolled his eyes again. 

Jacob ignored Hayden’s remark and laughed. “How’s it going? Do you dare to take up my challenge?” 

Hayden smiled faintly. “Why not? You need to give me all the information, though. Don’t expect me to pick up a girl when I know nothing about her.” 

“Of course. Don’t worry.” 

Jacob was thrilled to take on the bet, so he agreed without any hesitation. 

On the other hand, Hayden was suspicious and wondered if this was a trap that Jacob had set up for him. 

Just when they agreed on the challenge, the traffic light turned green. 

Aurelia’s BMW drove off slowly. 

Jacob drove his car at an equally leisurely pace. It followed Aurelia’s BMW closely in the next lane. 

Coincidentally, Jacob was also driving a BMW that day. 

However, it was an SUV model. 

Aurelia soon took notice of the BMW SUV in the lane next to her. 

She was deliberately driving very slowly to make Marcellus wait for her. However, she was puzzled why the imported luxury.

She then guessed that the BMW SUV must belong to some rich man’s son who wanted to chat her up. 

Aurelia gave a snort of contempt. 

Winding down the car window, she cast a sidelong glance at the driver of the black BMW SUV and pointed her middle finger upward. 

Under the startled gazes of Jacob and Hayden, Aurelia stepped on the gas pedal. Her BMW surged forward with an electrifying burst of energy and sped away. 

Jacob’s BMW SUV was trailing behind. 

Jacob laughed out loud, looking smug. “Wow, did you see that, Hayden? This woman is really interesting. 

Hayden’s lips curled up into a smile, although he did not say anything. 

Aurelia’s sudden and provocative gesture exuded an alluring charm that ignited an innate desire to conquer and tame this 

Woman. 

Meanwhile, Aurelia did not think much about the incident. 

Her mind had been preoccupied the past two days, as she had too many things to do. 

Besides, she had to finish all the tasks within a short period. She had no time to bother with these hedonists. 

After shaking off Jacob’s SUV, Aurelia turned into another main road and picked up speed again.

When the car approached the Francois residence, she received another phone call. 

It was Channing. 

He told Aurelia he had already contacted the person she wanted to meet. That person was now in Navarre. However, he did not have time to meet her during the day. 

Channing had already arranged for Aurelia to meet him at eight o’clock that evening in Room 718 at Navarre Hotel. 

He told Aurelia to make her way directly to the hotel room for the meeting-

Aurelia was delighted at the news. She expressed her gratitude to Channing for his help over the phone. 

Channing did not feel comfortable that Aurelia was going to the hotel room to meet that person alone. He asked Aurelia if it was necessary for him to rush back to Navarre from Xandenia to go to the meeting with her. 

Aurelia turned down his offer. 

She was going to discuss some family matters with this person that night. Channing had helped her a lot. If they were meeting in Xandenia, she might have accepted Channing’s offer to help. However, she could not let Channing travel from Xandenia to Navarre to attend the meeting with her. 

In addition, she knew that the person she was going to meet that night was not a simple person. There was a possibility that he might make unreasonable demands on her. 

Aurelia was prepared to pay a price for her plan to succeed. 

Channing would definitely disapprove of such shady deals. 

After hanging up the phone, her car came to a stop in front of the gate.
