Jaci's POV

Everything seems dark. Where am I? I remember getting hit by Tsunami waves and drowning in the water, before darkness took over. Am I dead? I better be because,I have no desire to live anymore. I lost everything. Dad, Mom, Friends, Sam. What do I have left now to live for? I looked around and found myself laid on someone's lap. Curious,I looked up and found mom smiling at me.

“Mom,you are alive? How? I saw you..”I stopped mid sentence, when I saw dad sitting beside her too. “Dad?”O my god. I must be dead then. They say your last wish is always fulfilled by god. I remember wishing to see my parents soon. O thank God. “Mom Dad!! you are here? I can't believe this. Are you guys really here?”

“Yes,we are here sweety. But you are not. We are dead already,but you still have a very long life to live. You are born with a purpose sweetheart. You belong some where else. You belong to someone,who is waiting for you for a long time. He is your solemate. You both need each other. We are here to say our final goodbye to you, before we send you to your safe heaven sweety.”said mom.

“Mom,I don't want a safe heaven. I want both of you. Please mom,tell me where we are?” They both smiled at me, sadly. “People need you Jaci. Our purpose was to bring you into this world. You are destined to lead people. You are their only hope for survival, Jaci. You will do great things. Have faith in yourself baby girl. Dad and mom will always be with you in here.”my dad said, pointing towards my heart.

“Open your eyes sweetheart. Your new life is waiting for you. Don't get afraid of what you see. Don't hesitate to trust. Let your heart lead you. We'll leave you for now sweety,but don't forget,we will always love you and stand by your side, whenever you need us. I love you.”said mom and before I could say it back,the darkness started to fade and the silence was filled with noises.

I slowly opened my eyes only to screem at the sight infront of me. I was inside a tornado,along with lots of other fishes? I closed my eyes again, terrified of the scene. This is no safe heaven. This is worst than hell. I want to hold onto something, but the only thing closer to me was a baby whale. When I looked into its eyes,it was more terrified than me. How do I know?Don't ask.

I tried to reach it. Maybe it will calm it down, because it was screaming like a banshee. “Hey,hey,can I hold you”I yelled through the noise.” As if it can hear me,it stopped screaming. After a lot of difficulty,I caught hold of his fin. I hugged it tight, because my life depends on it. I felt it getting calmed down.

After a few moments,we were throwed outside the tornado. I landed on something not very hard. When I slowly turned my head,I could see,it was the sand. Maybe a shore. Thank God. But my head is spinning like a roller coaster. This ride was more adventurous than that. Note my sarcasm.

Then I turned my head towards my new friend. “hey blue,you alright there?”I asked the baby whale. It made a notice like,'what do you think genius?'.“yae,I know,sorry.” I said. I felt better with my eyes open,than closed,so I kept it that way. “I think,we are stuck here for a while han? Is the water enough for you to survive?

I really hit my head hard. I'm talking to a fish. Yae whatever,who is listening anyways.” I sighed. “Hey did you...l..loose your m..mom too?”I asked with tear filled eyes. It's grunt sounded like cry,as if saying 'yes'. “Me too blue,me too. She left me to fend for myself, alone,in this world. Does it make any sense?” I scoffed.

“If you don't mind me asking,are you a male...Or female?”it made a sound like....'fuck you'.“Ok no cursing, didn't you parents teach you that? I guess you are a male then? I'll call you blue. Is that ok with you?” I didn't hear any answer.“ I'll take that as a yes.” We kept quite for a while and closed my eyes. I think nobody is coming to rescue us untill this storm is over.

Then,I heard people yelling. Really? Who is brave enough to walk into a storm. Maybe the nearby residents. I'll be tanking them,once I recover,if they rescue me before dying,ofcource. “Blue,thanks for being with me,for a while. I think,this is it. We have to part ways.”Blue cried out a loud noice. He is going to miss me too.

“I'll miss you too”I said smiling at him. Then I was pulled by my back pack,by someone. They kept dragging me,untill I can't see blue any more. I closed my eyes in Relief and let the darkness engulf me again, but not before seeing the green eyes of my saviour,upside down. Green . Green eyes.

I could hear voices,some loud,some wishpering and some very loud. God who is that. Can't they talk softly. I slowly opened my eyes to find a lot of people in the room. Wait...It's not a room. What is it? “Ugh,this migrane is killing me” I grunted with pain. “Aluli ! gah-hoo-jah is awake!” what now? What language is that?

My eyes widened,when I looked at the girl,who was yelling just now. She was very beautiful curvy girl,we might me of the same age. She was giving me a genuine smile. “Osiyo. I'm Nina. Dohitsu?” she said excited.“What?” I asked confused. “Nina,she can't understand our language,or did you forget? Go call Uncle Aku and your grandmother.” said another woman, attire just like the girl.

They are wearing very less clothing,with their private parts covered. Top is like a sports bra,with no strings and down is like a mini skirt. But they look decent,if you ask me.“Fine I'm leaving. Didanawisgi,said to give her something warm to drink,as soon as she's up and that medicine.”she pointed something on my left. It's a small clay cup. What's in there?

Once the girl left, I turned my head to the woman,who was trying to make me sit up a little. My whole body was aching. I moaned in pain. She smiled at me kindly and offered me another cup,with warm water. I drank it without thinking, because I was very thirsty. If they have poisoned it,then let's say,I was lucky to have some water before dying. After that she handed me the cup besides my madeshift bed.

“I feel like throwing up. What's is this drink?”I made a disgusted face,after having the bitter taste of the liquid. “You were in water,for a very long time. It will help you to recover from your sickness. Drink it all. Don't waste it.”the woman said in her tribal dialect,with a small smile and pushed the cup towards my mouth again. Wow,she acts just like mom. I tried to control my gaging instinct and forced it through my throat.

The room,which looks like a cave,was filled with people,all of a sudden. Everyone was looking at me, like I'm some kind of alian from a different planet. A very old lady came closer and sat beside me. She spoke something with a man, which I think is their doctor and touched my forehead with hers. What is she doing? The doctor checked my nerves and let it go slowly.

When they were having their conversation,I raised my head to look around a bit. There were lot's of man and woman of different age group, standing around us in a semi circle,but one men with green eyes caught my attention. He has his dirty blond hair tied into a bun,which is really complementing his high cheek square face,with little stubble. He has natural tan skin and well build.

He is taller than all of them. If I had to guess,may be 6'5. Suddenly his eyes met mine and my world stopped for a while. I couldn't take my eyes of him. He jaw clicked and he took sharp breath, alerting a lot of people. Is he their leader or something? Because his stance stand out among the others, around him. I think he is the one who saved me?

“u-wo-du-hi” he said, smiling at me. Whatever he said, with that god like voice,it send shiver down my body. His green eyes were looking into my soul through mine, which made me evert it unable to take the intensity of his. The old lady smiled at both of us,“Y K?”she asked me, catching my hands in between hers.

I smiled lightly at her. “I'm fine,thankyou.”

Thank God Finally someone,I can speak to? “Mee Abedabun, you?”she asked my name,with a kind smile. I returned the gesture. “Jaci”I said smiling. I can see from side of my eyes,someone nudging the green eyes man. What is his deal? The old lady, I mean Abedabun, nod her head. “O-mi-ri-canu? Ah unlaand?”she asked.

Is she asking me the place,I come from? “American or English. Is that what you're asking?” I said. She nodded her head as yes. “American, I'm from the United States of America. Have you heard about it?”I asked her. She nodded again. “Ok...umn..thankyou all for saving me. I could have died.”I said, genuinely glad for their help.

She smiled again and turned to the others,and started saying something in her tribal dialect. I guess she was conveying my thanks to them all. They all turned toward me and bow down their heads, except the green eyes man. I'm sure he's their head. The lady who served me medicine,said something pointed at my chest. What is she saying?

Abedabun turned towards me. “hurt?” She asked pointing at my birthmark under the collar bone. I shakes my head as no. “I was born with it. It's my birthmark.”I said. They all look very excited and happy about it,when Abedabun interpreted my words to them. Why are they so happy. Whatever. Or may be they thought I was hurt. Yes that might be the case.

“Aku, e-he-na, take her near the fire. She is shivering.” I panicked, because whatever Abedabun told that green eyes man,he nod his head and walked toward me with purpose. O my god, what is he doing? He lifted me bridal style, like I weighted nothing. “ree-las, you cool,”she pointed towards fire. “atsilv” she said smiling. The green eyes man took me towards the fire.

All the way there,I could feel his eyes on me but I tried my best not to cower away,from it. His touch was doing something to me. I thought,I would be disgusted,but no, his odour was very alluring. It's relaxing and I feel safe. He sat down near the fire and made me sit on his lap. Ok? Not good. What am I, three? I was about to give him a piece of my mind,when a rough but warm hand touched my face.

I turned to look at him. He was keeping his palm closer to fire and putting it against my exposed skin to warm it up. This gesture made me shut my mouth and let him do his job. He kept warming me up. I thought of thanking him again. “What is your name?”I asked him. He looked surprised that I spoke to him,bit confused because,he didn't get my question.

I gestured my hand at myself and then at him.“Jaci..what's your's?” he smiled “Aku”he said. “Thank-you,Aku for saving me from the storm.”I gestured,like I do with dumb and deaf people. And he actually understood. He gestured back with his dialect. “My pleasure,my moon”I burst out laughing. He bite his lips to control it but ended up laughing.

“How did you learn sign language”I asked with gestures. Again he replied the same way. “There are few people in my tribe, who can't speak. So most of us know how to sign” he said, smiling.“Wow nice. I thought,I have to work hard to explain to you guys,when I need something”I said. He bite his lips and pulled me a little closer. My heart started racing.

“I'm going to claim you, once things settle down. I have waited so long for this moment Jaci” he said. And turned his gaze towards the fire. It was like a promise. But do I want to know what it was. I guess not.

But it was bound to happen. I can't avoid it, can I?
