Aku's POV

She is so beautiful. My lune,my U-da-li-i. She was too tired and slept to realize that, we're sitting near the fire, cuddling in each other's arm. Her one hand on my bare chest and the other, intertwined with mine. Is this how everybody felt around their mates. Thank-you! O moon god,for bringing her back to me. What I'll not do for her to cuddle with me willingly.

Not that I'm complaining now. But hoping,she won't try to run away,once she knows her value in my life. So far so good.

Baku came towards me with a happy face and crouched infront of us. He was happy for me. I can see that. “Nina agreed for Waya to claim her. Tomorrow is the wedding ceremony. Your Hé'e needs to be there too, Grandmother said.”I nod in understanding. Our claiming ceremony are very sacred and no outsiders are allowed but, as Jaci is my mate,she has to walk with me and stand by my side throughout the ritual.

Baku smirked with his eyebrows wiggling. “On full moon, it's your turn. I hope she gives you a hard time.”he said chuckling. I offered him a fake glare and smiled. I looked down at my sleeping moon. How am I going to explain her about our rituals and customs. Will she except me as her Hetane her U-ye-hi ? “Don't think too much Misun. She is destined to be your soulmate. The sprits have united your souls again after 20 years, for a reason.

“Believe me Aku, your bond is stronger than you think. Everyone is talking about how they have never heard the moon god communicated with us directly to save an outsider. Trust me,no one can separate you two. She's your's and your's only. And by the way,we are Hetane. We are supposed to win our bride's heart. You have to woo her Misun. Be a man.”he said,nudging my stretched leg a bit. I nodded my head and looked at the mother of my future children.

A smile kept on my face,when Baku laughed,knowing how whipped I'm already. “There you go. I got food for you guys.”Malia said,bringing two bowls of food. She smiled at us,but when her eyes fell on Jaci in my arms,she frowned. I can understand her pain. I unnecessaryly lead her on,even though,I didn't make any false promises. I never thought,I would find my mate ever and that is why,I never stopped her advances on me.

She looked at me hurt,then turned around and left. I sighed as Baku started eating,not at all bothered of Malia's presence. I wish,I was a little bit like him. Carefree. But I'm the Chieftain of my clan. I can't ignore my people, when they are in pain. I'll talk to her later,after the ceremony. Jaci stirred in my arms. Baku paused his eating and looked at her blinking. She opened her beautiful hazel eyes to meet mine.

Jaci's POV

I was startled for a second,when I opened my eyes and was met with the forest green one. I tried to think of an explanation,why I'm in his arm. Then relaxed after I recalled the past events. I turned to my side and found another man,with long black hair and dark eyes. He looks very friendly. He stopped mid eating and said something in his dialect. I turned to Aku to ask him what he said. Suddenly the man laughed and sign talked, while speaking his dialect.

“I heard that,you could sign like us. It's good to know. I'm Baku,his friend and brother in law as well.”he gestured at Aku. I smiled at him, and signed back. “Its nice to meet you too. I hope, I'm not troubling your people,with my presence. I don't like to be a burden.” I said smiling,but Aku stiffened behind me. They both exchanged a look but soon laughed it out. Did I crack a joke?

“Dont worry. You're just like my little sister. And sisters are never a burden to their brothers. Emese.” he said handling me a bowl of food. I was totally wrong about them. I thought they are barbarians but they are just like us. Different face, different race but same thinking. “Thank you”I said,looking at both of them. “What is this? This smells delicious.”I asked Aku. He smiled and took the bowl from my hand and said. “It's fish,some herbs and rice. I'll feed you,if it's ok with you.”

“My hands are perfactly fine. Thank you.” I said taking the bowl from him. I didn't notice,his face fell. I was starving and when I took the first bite,I moaned at how good it tasted.

“Ummmm. It sooooo good.”Aku stirred behind me. I think he is very stiff, because he was sitting,holding me in the same position, for god knows how long. I tried to moov away,but his hold on my waist titened. I looked at him confused. “Don't move”he said with his jaw clenched.

“What?”I asked confused. Baku burst out laughing. What is wrong with this man? “O this is fun. Our Chieftain is finally hard for a woman.” Aku pushed me aside and jumped on Baku,to close his mouth. I think,he had made some fun of him. I smiled looking at two grown up men fight like teenagers.

“Your sister is going to arrange your wedding bed,if she hears about this.”

said Baku,making Aku to chock him with his arm, ennoyed. But he loosened his hold,when I started giggling at their childish fight.

Baku thought it was his only chance to escape and slipped out of his arms, running away. “Im telling everyone!”

he yelled and run away. “Baku!You are a dead meat now!”Aku said with gritted teeth and started chasing him.

After they ware our of my sight,I sighed and resumed eating my food. When I was done,I kept the bowl aside and tried to get up to get some water. Luckily, none of my bones ware broken or any internal injuries,due to the storm,but my body has lot of bruises.

From the hits I guess,which hurts like bitch,when I move. God,if I was at home,I would have taken a hot bath,to relax my muscles,but here,not a chance. 'Be thankful,you are alive' I groaned,when my twisted leg ached, while moving. “Anybody here?” I called. Suddenly a girl,I met earlier... What's her name again? Yae Nina,came running.“Hey,hey,hey. Sit down. You're not healed yet.”she said, helping me to sit down again. “Umn,I need water and also need to...pee”I said, signing at her. “Oh ok. Let's take you out then.”

She called someone and another woman came toward us. “What is it? And what are you doing here? It's your wedding tomorrow. Go and rest.What does the princess need anyways?” I didn't understand a word she said,but it's clear,that she doesn't like me. “What is wrong with you Malia? Don't let uncle hear that tone of your's towards his mate. He won't like it. I didn't call for your help anyways.”

That woman huffed and went away. Nina looked my way and signed. “Don't mind her,she is an annoying person. Can't see anyone,who is happy.”she said while helping me walk out slowly. Then a boy of almost my age,who looks like the younger version of Baku,came running. “Nina,you need help?”he asked approaching us. “Waya,you are not supposed to be here. Call Uncle and go before someone sees you with me today.”she said blushing,which made the boy,smirk.

We both gasp,when the boy kissed her cheek and run away laughing. She looked like a Tomato right now. “you both are in love?”I asked her. She nodded her head. “We again getting married, tomorrow.”she said shying. My eyes bulged out in surprise. “Wow, Congratulations.”I said hugging her. She thanked me, giggling and told me how she rejected him once, because he has broken her heart,when they ware kids.

She explained that, 98% of the couples in this tribe,are destined mates and they find them,once they take bath in the holy water. It was all a little hard to believe,but who am I to doubt their religion, customs and rituals. I'm just a guest, that's all. We came back from our peeing trip and she helped me sit down on the same place,near the warmth of fire. “Mahpe” she offered me water and left saying that, someone will bring me the herbal drink for my bruises.

I tried to relax but the lack of proper bedding and the pain was making me restless. After few moments,Aku came back,with two mugs. One big and one small,with stream coming out of it. He smiled at me and offered me the smaller one,which was streaming hot.

“careful with that ”he gesture talked.

I ignored his gaze on me and finished the medicine. I felt drowsy. I'm fine though. Atleast, I'll be in no pain while sleeping. I didn't notice that,he had bought some hey bunch and put a made shift bed for me, little away from fire.

He gestured me to move towards it. As soon as my body hit the bed,the softness of the hey, made me go into a slumber. Before closing my eyes,I heard Aku saying “Osdausvi”. I'm sure that means,either good night or sleep well. I mumbled a good night to him too,which bought a very big smile on his face. If I was not far gone into my sleep mode,I would have also heard his love confession.

Next day...

I was awakened by people laughing and talking loudly. I groaned and tried to open my eyes. I was not alone. There were almost 6-7 women and few kids running around,near my madeshift bed. One woman noticed me and walked toward me smiling.

“Osdasanalei. You're awake. Sorry we disturbed your peaceful sleep,but Aku said to get you ready for the ceremony. Come I'll help you.”She said both gesturing and with their usual dialect.

I nodded and she actually was very caring. She helped me take a bath. It was not much but a wooden tub filled with warm water and some kind of paste,they used as soap. It was odour less,but after taking a bath,I felt much better. They also helped me put on some clothes,which was very grand and colourful,they called Regalia. I don't have mirror but,by the wide unblinking eyes, of the women,I can say that, I'm not looking bad at all. Fhew. Tough nuts.

They all looked behind me and giggled. When I looked back,I saw Aku,eyeing me from top to bottom,

with his jaw hitting the floor.

“Close you mouth,or you'll catch a fly”

I joked and everyone in the room burst into fits of laughter. Aku scratched his head embarrassed. I noticed just now that,our attire was kind of similar. Or it was a coincidence,maybe. He looked hot thought. Did I just say that?Yup,I did. He is wearing some trousers, that looks like leather. And a furcoat,with his hair tied in the middle, leaving the rest free.

The old lady I met yesterday, Abedabun,came and stand beside him and smiled at both of us. “You both really look like the moon and the moon Lord. May God bless you. I'm dying to see your union. Aku,woo her soon. I want great grand babies.” whatever she said made Aku go red. She laughed nudging him and placed a feathers hat on his head. “Wow that's beautiful. ” I said, looking at how good it has been crafted. They looked my way and smiled. Aku walked closer to me and made me wear his hat. I could hear gasp around me.

O my god. Isn't it offensive for the chief to give his hat to others? It is like a crown,I read it some where. They only hand it over to their successor. I tried to take it out,but he stopped me. He took another one, smaller than mine and wore it smiling. Why is he doing it? Wouldn't it make his people angry? But to my surprise,they all look very happy. What the actual fuck? Whatever. If they don't mind,who cares. I wish, I could see myself in a mirror.

After that,Aku hold my hand and we all stepped out in the light to attend the ceremony. Everyone was gathered outside in a circle. When we arrived,as in, Aku, me, and Abedabun,they all looked at us in awe, like they are seeing god. O come on. This is so embarrassing. I don't like to be the center of attraction. Then to save me, Abedabun started.

“We are gathered here today to witness and bless the young couple,

who are tieing the knot finally,with the blessings of Moon god. Let the sun and the sky and the universe be the witness to their union too.”she said. “Waya,Son of Baku and Haki. Nina, daughter of Makawee and Late Nanna, please come forward.” they both look so cute in their red attire. Nina looked at me and smiled, I gave her a thumb up,which made her giggle and received chuckling from the crowd.

The ceremony took another Hour or so with Aku explaining me a lot about the different rituals and,how they are done? Why they are done? And the best part was the Vase ceremony,

in which they fill a vase with two holes on either side with water. The bride and groom drink from the water pouring from the vase as a toast to their union. They say, a couple that can drink simultaneously without spilling a drop is anticipated to have good understanding with them throughout their marriage.

Once the Ceremony was over,I was individually introduced to the elders of the tribe and they were really happy,when I could reciprocate with them. It took another one hour for the feast and introduction. Then the groom and bride left first followed by us and then the others. I was very tired. My legs are killing me. When I was thinking,where to sit, Aku suddenly lifted me bridal style and carried me Inside the cave. “stay”he gestured, making me sit on the hey bed. I took out the crown or hat carefully and put aside.

I loosened by attire. It was like an overcoat. I still have two layers inside it. So The first one has to go,If I want to relax. I so much wanted to open the second one too but, didn't feel comfortable around Aku. As I was folding it,Aku came back with a clay bowl with steaming water. There was a cloth in it too. What is he trying to do? He saw my confusion and said. “You can wipe yourself with the herbal water and later put you feet in these to relieve you ache.”

“O my god. You are an Angel,Aku. Really. You are sweet heart.” I said hugging him. He stiffened for a sec, but then relaxed and rubbed my head softly. “Anything for you my Love”I don't get the last part,but I know he said,it's my pleasure.

After wiping myself with the rag cloth,I put my feet in the water and as he said,it was really relaxing. I sat there,with by knees folded and hands placed over it. I don't remember,when sleep took over but I definitely was unaware of Aku kissing my forehead and making me sleep on his arm, looking at me all the time,while I was passed out.
