Chapter 4~Peter

By the time we had met up again, the sun was beginning to set and we had all changed out of our clothes. I was wearing black tight-fitting jeans and a camouflage tank top to go with it. I had a camouflage leather jacket to go along with. The boys were basically wearing the same thing-they each had on black combat boots, black jeans, and a black tank top. Kenzie and Kim were both wearing a tight black dress. Kenzie's stopped mid-thigh and was puffy at the sides while Kim's was a simple dress AKA minus the puffiness. Kenzie rolled her eyes in annoyance as she yanked the dress down making her breast pop out. Hades's eyes bugged out as he looked them over making Luca growl at him. I threw my jacket at her and Luca caught it effortlessly before putting the jacket on her.

“Can we switch?” She begged, looking at me. My eyes widened as I shook my shook.

“There’s no way in hell I’m wearing that.” I said continuing to shake my head. She pouted making my heart clench and I shut my eyes tightly.

The jeans fit her perfectly and she looked like a badass while I felt like a tramp. She smiled brightly and hugged me tightly.

“Thank you. I love you so much.” She said kissing my cheek.

“Whatever.” I grumbled. She held the jacket open for me and I slid my arms in it before shrugging it on. We stepped out from behind the house and the boys choked on their spit making me roll my eyes.

“Don’t say a word.” I growled. Kenzie giggled making me roll my eyes again and Mateo handed me the book. I opened it to the last page that I read and frowned when the only thing I saw was a map and a caption.

I studied the map finding where we were standing before leading the others to where the house was at.

“Wow.” Kim mumbled looking up at the house. The house was a bright white, a contrast to the black houses surrounding it, and was 4 stories high. She slowly walked up the stairs and put her hand on the doorknob. She screamed as the doorknob shocked her and she began to fly backward. Alex caught her effortlessly and she smiled at him before saying something corny making me mentally roll my eyes. I turned away from them and opened the book before turning to the page I was just on. I turned to the next page.

’Phoenix you’re the only one able to open the door-only a direct bloodline of me can open it. If anybody else tries to open it the house will “retaliate”.

I looked over at Kim as I read the last part. I walked up the house and turned the doorknob before pushing the door open and stepping inside. I flicked the light on and gasped softly as I took the room in. The outside didn’t do the inside justice at all-the inside was as big as a football field. Everything was painted a creme white which made sense. We all split up again as we explored the house.

“There’s a freaking ballroom.” Kenzie exclaimed as we all met up again.

“The kitchen is stocked up with everything we’ll need.” Kim said.

“Each room has a conjoining bathroom and closet already filled with clothes.” Luca added. I chewed my lip deep in thought and nodded my head before walking where Kim had just come from. I stopped in the kitchen and grabbed ingredients before placing them on the counters. I washed my hands before going to work. By the time I had finished everybody had finished washing up and had set the table up. The boys helped me as I set the food on the table. Everybody sat down in random seats and we all began to eat. “So where are you going to sleep Alex?” Kenzie asked breaking the silence. Alex and I tensed and Kenzie froze as she realized what she just did. She looked at me and I could see the sorrow in her eyes. I gave her a small smile telling her it was okay and turned my attention back to my food.

“Where are you going to sleep Alex?” Kim asked once again, breaking the silence.

“Wherever he damn well pleases.” I mumbled, rolling my eyes.

“Phoenix.” Mateo hissed gently squeezing my thigh. I looked up from my food and my face flushed as I realized they heard me.

“Sorry.” I mumbled, ignoring the smirk on Hades’s face and looking back down at my food.

“I don’t recall her asking you.” One of Kim’s posse barked. I chuckled darkly under my breath.

“I’m not in the mood.” I said rolling my eyes.

“I don’t recall asking.” Jocelyn spat.

“Jocelyn.” Kim barked.

“I’m not what you want.” I warned.

“I’m tired of her shit.” Jocelyn said glaring at me.

“I didn’t ask any of you to show up or put your lips on my mate or tag along to this mission.” I said crossing my arms over my chest. The hurt was evident in Kim’s eyes and she visibly flinched as if I dipped a belt in silver and used it against her skin. Jocelyn’s eyes darkened in anger and she slowly stood up. I stood up making Mateo grab my arm just as Kim grabbed Jocelyn’s arm. The room broke into screams as Jocelyn and I tried to get at each other and the rest tried to keep us apart only doubling our anger. Hades remained silent as he watched us amusement clear in his eyes.

“Shh.” He said softly. Everybody ignored him as I pushed Mateo hard enough to loosen his grip on me and leaped onto the table only for my body to freeze midair. I looked around the room to see everybody frozen along with me. Hades rolled his eyes and walked up to the window.

“Listen.” He said ignoring our glares.I tried to open my mouth to curse him out but to no avail. I sighed deeply before doing as he asked. I could hear footsteps coming from outside and I frowned. Hades turned to face us again and he rolled his eyes as he noticed the confused looks on our faces.

“This street is supposed to be abandoned.” He hissed rolling his eyes. My eyes widened as I realized he was right. He freed us from his spell and I landed delicately on the table. My eyes landed on Jocelyn and I felt my blood begin to boil again.

“Not now love.” Hades said picking me up effortlessly and putting me on the ground. I rolled my eyes and began to walk away when a knock on the door caught my attention. The others looked at me and I sighed deeply before walking to the front door.

“What are you doing?” Mateo asked, grabbing my arm and turning me around to face him.

“Going to ask who it is.” I said jerking away from him. I walked up to the door and pulled it open before he could say anything else. My breath caught in my throat as piercing grey eyes locked on mine. We both stood in silence as we took each other in. His hair was messily tousled to the side and was pitch black. He stood at about 6′2 and had a scar going straight through his left eyebrow. I balled my hand tightly into a fist as I swallowed down the need to reach out and trace it. His eyes continued to slowly look me up and down before they settled on my eyes.

“Hello.” He said smiling. He had an accent that I couldn’t place, only adding to his mystique. He had one of those smiles that were mischievous but was also soft and welcoming. He had deep dimples on either side of his cheeks and I blinked rapidly as I realized I hadn’t responded to him and I was just staring at him.

“Hi.” I said softly.He smiled again and looked past my head-his smile immediately dropping.

“Who are you?” Mateo asked harshly.

“My name is Peter.” He said, turning his attention back to me.

“And?” Mateo asked.Peter ignored him and kept his eyes on me.

“I’m Phoenix.” I said softly.He smiled again making me blush and I looked down.

“Snap out of it.” Hades said appearing in front of me.I blinked rapidly as I took him in and took a step back.

“What the hell was that?” I asked to making sure to keep my eyes on Hades.

“A little something called Lust.” Hades said turning his back to me and turning to face Peter.

“Lucifer.” Peter said, sounding extremely bored.

“You know him?” I asked Hades.

“Of course I know him.I’m the one that gave him the bloody thing living inside of him.” Hades responded.

“I’m sure you heard of me.I’m Peter-Peter Pan.” Peter said trying to get a look at me.Hades blocked his every attempt making Peter groan in annoyance.

“She’s gorgeous, why can’t I have a taste?” Peter asked groaning

“You can try but by the time you reach me you’d be dead.” I said stepping to Hades’ side.Peter threw his head back and laughed.

“I like her.” He said smiling at Hades.

“Why are you here?” Hades asked bluntly.

“Well I was hired to kill you-all of you.” He said, shrugging.

“What?” Kenzie asked from somewhere behind me.Peter’s interest peaked and he took a step inside.He smiled as his eyes landed on Kenzie and I watched as she slowly licked her lips.I rolled my eyes and walked up to Peter before smacking him in the back of his head.He spun around and grabbed my wrist tightly.

“Don’t do that again.” He warned lowly.

“Or what?” I challenged.He smirked evilly and chuckled.

“Now because I like you I’ll give you 2 minutes to get the hell out before I have to start ripping you all apart.” He said before walking into the den and taking a seat.We looked around at each other before our eyes landed on Hades waiting for him to tell us what to do since he was the one who apparently knew Peter.

“He’s a skilled hunter-I should know considering I trained him myself.He’s the best of the best and so I say this with extreme confidence when I say let’s get the fuck out of here.” Hades said before turning and walking out of the door making me roll my eyes.
