Leslie’s heart pounded as she said, “She has a phone and a watch. She calls her mother daily, and they sometimes have three to four calls a day.”
“I think it’s best if Chris minimizes contact between Chelsea and her mother if we want Chelsea to grow up healthily. That woman is willing to betray her husband for a green card. What good intentions can she have?
“Any child she raises is sure to be cun ning and manipulative. Chelsea is still a child but will become a problem when she’s older.”
Leslie felt stressed. “Chris said Rebecca is still Chelsea’s biological mother, even though he and Rebecca are divorced. He won’t prevent them from contacting each other. He might think I’m petty if I asked him to stop Chelsea from contacting her mother.”
“Leslie, you care too much about Chris and what he thinks of you,” Lisa said disapprovingly, “Let me tell you something. You should have nothing to worry about in this marriage. Your dad is right.
“Chris has gotten divorced before, and you’re his second wife, who’s six years younger than him. Your circumstances aren’t bad, either. He’ll accommodate you if you stand firm. He’s just an associate professor. If he gets another divorce, there’ll be rumors about it.”
“Lisa, you’re something else,” Leslie admiringly said as she patted her younger sister. “You’re only twenty-two, yet you can understand all the twists and turns of marriage so clearly.”
Lisa explained, “It’s simple. Look at my mom and your dad. Your dad makes the money, so he can boss my mom around. It’s the same in a marriage or relationship. Whoever loves more is the one who makes more compromises and sacrifices.”

Leslie pursed her lips slightly. She noticed Lisa’s calm demeanor and could only sigh before patting her head, saying, Although I’m my dad’s biological daughter, I must admit he’s not a good person. He’s the type who doesn’t cherish what he has until it’s gone.”
Lisa said, “Don’t worry. I’m not that heartless. I might’ve dropped out of school long ago if it weren’t for your father.”
Just as she finished speaking, a waiter knocked on the door and asked, “Excuse me, is now?”
Lisa looked at Leslie. “We haven’t ordered yet. Do you want to stay here and eat?”

“Understood.” After nodding, the waiter took his walkie-talkie and said, “We have a vacancy in the private room.”
The manager replied, “Great, I’ll send the guest and his friends over immediately.”
Leslie and Lisa packed their belongings and prepared to leave. However, as soon as they reached the door, four men and a woman entered. It was quite a coincidence.
Lisa recognized three of the four men. One was Leonard, and another was Lucas, whom she had just met this morning- finally, Quince, who sent Leonard home last night.

The fourth man was someone Lisa did not recognize, but all four exuded an air of elegance that was hard to ignore. As for the woman, she wore a fairy-like dress with a necklace and handbag. Everything she wore and carried was from expensive luxury brands. Lisa realized she had recognized the woman all along-it was Stephanie.
The woman walked closely with Leonard, making them look like a deeply in love couple.
Lisa clicked her tongue discreetly.
‘What a coincidence.’
If she loved Leonard for real, it would have been a dramatic scene to witness a wife encountering her husband and his ex- girlfriend in a secret meeting.
Meanwhile, Leslie was just as startled as Lisa.
