Julian replied with a soft hum. Then, he looked at the kitchen and asked, “What is Grams doing in the kitchen?”
Alexandra said, “Grams says that she wants to cook something for both of us to eat. I really can’t help much. Grams forbids me to enter the kitchen
too.”
Julian turned away and looked at Alexandra, who behaved obediently. Then, he glanced at the phone on the couch.
Julian wanted to hold it but he could not take it anymore.
He stared at Alexandra’s big sparkling eyes and said to her directly, “Is your phone spoilt?”
Alexandra was confused. She replied, “Nope!”
Julian asked again, “Didn’t you see the friend request that I sent you this morning?”
Alexandra’s eyes widened. She looked so guilty now.
She could not say that she saw it but choose not to accept his friend request. Furthermore, she could not say that she was still holding a grudge against that particular phone number.
Therefore, she frowned. Suddenly, she seemed to think of something. She then said slowly, “Well, I was watching the television program the whole afternoon. So, I did not look at my phone.”
Of course, Julian doubted her!
Her expression had betrayed her when she was telling lies!
She was really bad at managing her expression!
Julian replied with a hum. Then, he said expressionlessly, “Then, take a look at it and accept it if you have nothing to do now.”
Alexandra was being driven up the wall. She shook her head vigorously and said, “Mr. Ranford, we have phones now. If I need any help, I can look for Marco or Frank. I believed that Marco will inform you too. You are so busy all the time. So, it will be better if I don’t add you to WhatsApp first.”
Alexandra could imagine Julian’s Facebook would either be blank or full of major financial news and major event of the Ranford Group.
Furthermore, she could not think of what to chat with Julian on WhatsApp.
Julian was a man of few words. With his swift and decisive manner, Alexandra bet that he would not say more than three words in WhatsApp.
Alexandra did not want it to happen.
Hence, she did not accept his friend request.
Julian did not expect Alexandra to reject him so directly.
Obviously, Alexandra was digging up old scores now.

Well, it seemed that something was about to happen again.
Julian looked at the young lady and said calmly, “It is the fifth today. It’s time for payout.”
Upon hearing the words “payout“, Alexandra’s eyes lit up instantly.
She tilted her head as she asked, “I have already given my bank account number to Marco. You could ask him to transfer the money into it.”
Julian continued to say in a serious manner, “We are not in an official employment relationship, but a private partnership. Therefore, we can’t transfer the money to you using the company’s account. Marco is not able to transfer the money to you. I will do an online transfer for you.”
Alexandra stared at him and thought for a second.
Then, she ran back to the couch to take her phone. She agreed to approve Julian’s friend request and added his contact number too.
The whole process was less than three seconds.
She was jumping with joy as she approached Julian. Then, she waved her plione in front of Julian and said, “Mr. Ranford, I have approved your friend request and added your contact number.”
Julian took his phone out of his pocket and saw the approval. A cartoon bunny popped up from the screen. He was so excited but he did not show it on his face.
Then he said, “Alright. I will transfer the money to you later.”
“Okay! No problem!” Alexandra nodded vigorously.
It was 240 thousand dollars!
When Alexandra came to think about the 240 thousand dollars that were about to be transferred into her bank account, her eyes lit up instantly.
Upon seeing the money–grubber expression showed on Alexandra’s face, Julian could not help but shake his head.
Then, he took the briefcase and was about to bring it upstairs.
Julian had not seen the things inside the briefcase yet. Therefore, he had no intention to give it to Alexandra first.
When he was about to go upstairs, Alexandra stopped him. “Mr. Ranford!”
Julian turned around and looked at the adorable young lady, “Yes?”
Alexandra lowered her gaze and hesitated for a moment. Then, she lifted her head again and pouted her mouth as she said, “Well. Since we are not in an official employment relationship, there shouldn’t be any tax deduction, right?”
Julian twitched his mouth and said, “Of course, no tax deduction. The money is all yours.”
“Okay!” A hint of excitement flashed through Alexandra’s eyes. Then, she pouted her mouth again as she said, “But if you do a bank transfer, will there be a processing fee if I were to encash the money?”
Julian was so speechless at that moment. He endured it for quite some time before he said it out. “I will pay the processing fee for you.”
“You are such a nice guy, Mr. Ranford! You are the most charming and adorable boss I have ever met!”
Upon seeing Alexandra flattering himself, Julian twitched his mouth into a smile subconsciously.
How much hardship had this young lady suffered in the past?
Looked at how delightful she was upon taking the advantage of just a few dollars!
Julian smiled at Alexandra. Then, he turned around and went upstairs.
Alexandra looked at the black briefcase in Julian’s hand and scratched her head in confusion.
When Alexandra returned to the living room, her phone rang-
It was from Peter,
Ever since noon, Peter had been calling her umpteen times.
But, Alexandra did not answer at all.
When it finally stopped, he called again.
Alexandra was so annoyed by the caller ID. She rejected the call again.
After rejecting the call, Alexandra’s phone popped out a new notification. The money had been transferred to her account.
Julian had transferred 240 thousand and 240 dollars into her account.
Indeed, Julian transferred the money to Alexandra, inclusive of the processing fee.
Alexandra was so excited upon receiving the money.
Then, she sent Julian an emoticon of a jumping bunny in his WhatsApp. The emoticon was stating the words “Thank you, Boss” while it jumped.

When she was about to put away her phone. The door of the study opened.
Julian had already taken off his coat and necktie. He walked down from upstairs and took a glance at Alexandra before heading to the kitchen,
A few minutes later, Josephine came out of the kitchen with a smile.
Among all the dishes, only scrambled eggs with tomato were made by Josephine.
The rest of the dishes were prepared by Julian,
Alexandra had been eating Julian’s cooking all these days, she was so addicted to it.
Suddenly, Alexandra realized something. It must be such a great achievement to prepare a meal for someone.
She felt that she should learn how to cook so that she could cook for her best friends or even her boyfriend in the future.
When she came to think about having a boyfriend in the future, she felt a little weird though. So, she sighed.
