Josephine heard Alexandra sigh. Therefore, she asked, “What’s wrong, dear? The food is not your liking?”
Alexandra shook her head immediately, “No! No!”
“Then why are you sighing?”
Alexandra felt so embarrassed as she said, “I just feel that I am so stupid! I shall learn how to cook and prepare a meal for you in the future!”
Josephine was amused by what Alexandra said. She then said, “I appreciate your kindness, my dear. But, the Mrs.. Ranford in the Ranford family does not need to prepare the meal on her own.”
Alexandra chuckled as she said, “Grams, I admired your grandson and Frank so much. They are such a good cook. I must learn from them and cook something nice for people I love in the future.”
Julian paused for a moment. He knew what Alexandra meant by the words “in the future” and “people she loved“.
Furthermore, he knew that he was not on the list when Alexandra mentioned people she loved in the future
Julian lifted his head and looked at Alexandra with a meaningful gaze. Then, he said, “Are you saying that you want to prepare a meal for me? You’d better learn well as I am a fussy eater.”
Alexandra frowned as she looked at Julian. How could he be so shameless?
Who told him that the people she loved included him?
Josephine chuckled upon hearing their conversation. “How sweet! But, keep your sweet talk to yourself. I don’t want to be the third wheel!”
Alexandra was so embarrassed that her face blushed instantly.
Julian was in such a good mood now as he thought that he had won.
Suddenly, something struck Julian’s mind as he said, “Grams, it is Saturday tomorrow. Let’s go back to the old manor tomorrow afternoon. I have already informed them about it.”
Josephine then said, “Alright. It’s time to go back too. Since Alexandra’s leg injury has fully recovered and the school is reopening soon, it is still better to stay at home.”
Julian nodded as he said, “You are right, Grams.”
Alexandra was so excited that she could finally return to the Ranford Mansion tomorrow.

She could lie on her big bed alone, again!
Josephine then continued. “But, if both of you wanted to spend time alone, you could come back here on weekends. You could stay at the Ranford Mansion on normal days. At least, there are people taking care of you in the mansion.”
Julian nodded again, “You are absolutely right, Grams.”
Alexandra took a peek at Julian. She was thinking in her mind, “What is this guy having in his mind?”
What a nuisance!
After dinner, Alexandra returned to the room.
There were already hundreds of messages accumulated in the WhatsApp group.
it was all conversation between Emery and Yvonne when Alexandra was having her dinner.
Alexandra clicked into the chat room and sent a voice message. “Babes, let’s go out to have fun tomorrow! Who is with me? Raise your hand up high! | shall treat you to a good meal!”
Alexandra was so generous now upon receiving her salary. She had been cooped in the house for half a month. Now, she had just received her money. Of course! She wanted to have some fun before the school reopened!
Emery and Yvonne raised their hands immediately.
Both of them responded enthusiastically.
Yvonne had discharged from the hospital this afternoon too. The doctor suggested that she go home and recuperate for a few days.
However, Alexandra invited them to go out and have fun tomorrow. It was the first time Alexandra invited them on an outing.
Of course, Yvonne did not want to miss it!
Upon seeing that both her friends agreed to it, Alexandra was so happy that she rolled on her bed.
She had been suffocating for almost half a month!

Julian opened the black briefcase carefully. In fact, there weren’t many things inside the briefcase.
There was an old photo album with a few photos inside. It seemed that someone had taken some of the photos away.
The person in the photo was Alexandra’s biological mother.
Her mother’s name was Angie Doherty.
In fact, before Alexandra married into the Ranford family, Julian had hired someone to check on Alexandra’s background.
Angie was Peter’s first wife. She was also Alexandra’s biological mother.
However, when Alexandra was three years old, her mother died.
As for how she died, no one knew anything about it.
In less than half a year, Margot, who used to be Peter’s personal assistant, became Mrs.. Doherty and had been living with Peter till now.
Angie was a beautiful woman. In the photo, she looked so kind and gorgeous.
Alexandra had almost 70% similarity with her mother.
Especially in those old photos. Angie seemed to be slightly older than Alexandra now.
At first glance, one would have mistaken the person in the photo as Alexandra for sure.
Especially the crystal clear eyes that they possessed. It was so mesmerizing.
Angie was not from a noble family. Hence, there was no way to find out more information about her.
On top of the old photos, there were a few books that had already turned yellow. There was a wooden box inside the briefcase too.
Once Julian opened the wooden box, he saw a few ordinary pieces of jewelry.
One of them was a blue agate bracelet woven by a red string. There were seven blue agates on the bracelet. The biggest one was as big as a soybean.
Each of them was round, shiny, and crystal clear,
It seemed that those were good–quality blue agates.
Perhaps, it had been too long that the red string looked old.
But the seven blue agate was still as shining as new.
As the blue agates were too enchanting, Julian could not take his eyes off them.
Except for that, the rest were just random items.
Most likely, most of the belongings of the first wife had been thrown away. All these items must have been dug out son in the house to be used
to threaten Alexandra. So, she would ask Julian to lend the money to the Doherty family.
Julian put everything back in their original spots and ensured that there was nothing dangerous inside.
Then, he sent a message to Alexandra through WhatsApp. “Come over to my study. I have something for you”
“Yes, Sir!”
Alexandra had just taken her bath. She was chatting with her friends at that moment. Therefore, she s Julian’s message instantly.
Julian had just transferred the salary to her. Of course, she had to reply to his message.
Two minutes later, Alexandra knocked on the study door in her light green avocado pajamas.
Julian lifted his head and saw Alexandra was already in her pajamas. He could smell a faint smell of shower gel as she approached him.
Alexandra blinked her eyes as she asked, “What’s the matter, Mr. Ranford?”
Julian stood up and pushed the black briefcase which was already closed to Alexandra. Then, he said, “This is the thing you want. I have already gotten it back for you.”
Alexandra was confused. What was the thing she wanted?
She took a step forward and opened the black briefcase. Her heart skipped a beat upon seeing all the old stuff inside the briefcase.
She flipped open the photo album and saw a lady who looked like herself.
She knew what was going on now.
These were her mother’s belongings!
But, how did Ranford know that Peter threatened her to get money from him with her mother’s belongings?
Furthermore, how did Julian get those things from Peter?
Alexandra was touched yet confused. She felt so grateful at that moment. Then, she looked at Julian, expecting him to give her an explanation.
