Chapter 39

Chapter 44 

Before Nadia had heard the noise which sounded like sobbing was been lost in her 

mind. She had beey, 

she in her thoughts thinking of something which she had no answer to. 

It might have come out as a single question but it was quite confusing and frustrating to think of. The question was.. 

“Why had I been reborn?” Nadia muttered under her breath. She scratched her head with her claws as she thought about it. Suddenly, Nadia saw blood roll down her shirt ast she wondered where it had come from. She looked up the tree and saw nothing. But it still rolled down her shirt. 

It took her a while to figure out but as soon as she took her hand off her head, she soon realized that it was her claw that had given her the wound that leaked blood on her shirt. 

Nadia tried to wipe the stain off but it still laid there. She got fed up and immediately. turned to go home. Still wondering why the moon goddess, perhaps, had brought her back to life but in another person’s b*dy, she walked away from the water and as she made her way back into the woods. She was deep in her thoughts and had not seen the tiny branch that laid in front of her when she mistaken stepped on it with her last toe. A little of wood must have gotten into her skin as Nadia feel to the ground, holding her linle toc. 

She held her toc as she tried her best not to scream out in pain but it was near impossible as she let out a little squeak after. 

She sat there to recover and was about leaving when she heard someone sobbing. 

Nadia thought ahe had been hearing things as she wondered why she would have heard someone crying in the woods. She dusted herself as she stood stood erect and then started movin 

She was halfway past where she had been standing before she heard it again. She stood to listen and this time, she was sure her mind wasn’t playing tricks on her, surely, someone’s sobs were echoing through the woods that she was in. 

Nadia carefully traced where the sound was coming from as she made her way up. ahead. She went a little further and found its source. “It’s coming front behind that tree,I’m sure of it” she whispered to herself. 

Nadia took one step further as she thought about it again. What if the person sobbing did not want to be disturbed? 

She wondered if they needed solitude. She took one step back and she turned her back. to leave. 

Chapter 44

Yeah, maybe they had no intentions of wanting people to see them, that’s why they are all alone in the woods in the first place” she said as she smacked her hand on her forehead. She had already left when she heard the sobbing again. This time, it came with a loud cry. She could tell that whoever it was, was female and they were in serious pain. 

Ofcourse it was none of her business, she said to her self as she walked away trying to churn out the noise she was hearing but then, she heard something tell her to go back and find out who it was. 

“You’re the Luna of Oakland. You’re suppose to find these kinds of things out. Besides, if you were to rescue someone, it’ll add to you as Luna. Whoever it is can stand for you when you need them. It’s an honorable thing to do. Turn your back and head there the voice inside her said. 

Nadia wasn’t sure if it was her conscience or maybe Iris‘ inner wolf but it’s voce was very loud and audible. She tried to ignore it but it spoke again and so, Nadia was forced to turn her back and head back. When she got there, the same voice whispered up ahead” to her as she nodded and followed up ahead. She looked down occasionally as she tried. to watch her steps. The fall from last time was still hurting her rear end and her tiny toe. She couldn’t afford to make the same mistake again. 

Nadia was almost there when she heard the person crying speak. 

“I’ve suffered for her. I’ve suffered with her. I’ve been with her through thick and thin. I nurtured her into the woman she became and now, she can’t even recognize me. It said. as she heard it immediately burst out in tears. Whoever it was msut have really been hurt by whatever it was was making them cry. 

“I have been best friends with her for so long but she forgot me so easily!!!” She heard the voice say again as it paused to talk to itself while crying. She had almost pitied it as she stood by the tree. Her hands had started to scratch on the tree while she stood there. crossed leg. listening to what the voice was saying. She planned to turn and go to it afterwards as she imagined she would give whoever or whatever it was a hug and maybe a pat on the back. She would remind them That they were awesome too and tell them to leave whoever made them cry. Nadia leaned as she listened more. 

“I took care of her and her child and loved her child as if she was my own. And even when her husband had lost hope. I was there to comfort him, but now that she’s back, guess who she decided to discard first?” The voice said with a cry to end it. She coughed and choked in between as she tried to clear her throat. 

Nadia stood there listening to the story. It was a good story but it was beginning to sound familiar. 

“How could Iris do this to me? After all I did for her. How could she pay me that way? 

Chapter 11
