Overprotective much?

I stuffed my mouth with fries and glared at the staring people.

Okay, this is getting more annoying as the days are passing. I get it. They don’t stand me anymore because I screwed up, but they can be more subtle about it.

One week passed and things are awful. Everyone here hates me, they already did but now they’re worst then before. I’m suspended which means that I’m not leading my team anymore because I did one stupid mistake! One! And now I have to sit and watch while the others have the whole fun! I have to also take a stupid class for ‘Future leaders’ and I want to shoot myself every time I step into the classroom.

“Yo! Moonlight! Stop glaring. You’ll get wrinkles and you’re already ugly enough.” Leaf said grinning and pinching my cheek.

I slapped his hand and glared at him. “I’m not in the mood, Leaf.”

He frowned. “Come on, Moonlight. Don’t be like this. Everything will come back to normal and you won’t even realise it. Just calm down a little.”

I finished my fries and pushed the tray away. “It’s easy for you to say that. You don’t feel like the history it’s repeating itself. Now, if you excuse me, I have to be somewhere.” I got up and started to walk away.

Leaf looked at me still frowning while the others just said goodbye.

“See you at practice, Red. Don’t skip again or there will be consequences.”

“I’ll do whatever the fuck I want and you can’t to a shit about it so fuck off. You may be the new leader, but I’m not the one who likes following orders. Not now, not ever.” I growled at Sharpedon and stormed out of the canteen.

Sharpedon is the new and temporary leader and I’m completely pissed. Blast named him the new leader because ‘he’s strong and you have lots of things to learn from him’.

And what pissed me off more is that people like him more than they like me! And this stupid idiot is a hybrid too! Here are 3 hybrids and I think that we are too many. He is more liked than me because he isn’t a newborn hybrid like me. His father was a hybrid too like his grandfather and so on. And his mother was one too, this making him a pure hybrid and we all know how Elementars react at the word pure.

Since both his parents were changers, he knows how to control all his powers to perfection and this is another disadvantage for me. I can’t control my powers like him and my anger issues aren’t helping me neither.

In people eyes, I’m the bad guy and he is the good guy. He is the model of the perfect leader while I’m the bad model.

He is acting good with everyone and he’s helping everyone with everything while I’m the ‘arrogant bitch’ who glares at everyone. Yeah, he is sometimes cocky and arrogant, but ‘he has his reasons because he is so perfect’.

Wonderful I know. He is such a good person that he wanted to help me with my powers. To be honest, he really looks like a nice guy and I think that he didn’t offered me those lessons just to get on my nerves, but this whole situation is making me hate him.

Now I have another person on my hate list along with Black, Python, Calamity and all the fuckers that are talking shit behind my back.

I ran a hand through my hair as I seated down on a kitchen stool.

I’m really sorry for the poor Sharpedon sometimes. He tries to befriend me, but I snap at him and tell him to fuck off. He was all nice with me trying to make me feel better, he even suggest that I should be at last a co-leader, but I hate when someone takes what’s mine. I know that this isn’t his fault, but I can’t help it. His cute dimples and warm smiles aren’t helping me neither. He is just so damn perfect! He has perfect face, perfect personality, perfect fighting skills, perfect control over his powers and he’s a perfect leader while here I am with nothing.

I sighed for the hundredth time today and run my hands through my hair again. It’s a habit I have since I can remember. When I’m stressed and I don’t know what to do, I run my hands through my hair making it look like a mane.

“You know, I’m wondering how you still have hair on your head because you run your hands through it every time I look at you.”

A cup of hot cappuccino appeared in my face and I looked at Lincoln with a small smile. “Thanks.”

He’s been here for me since the marker incident and I’m happy to have my twiny back.

“You need to loosen up a little. All your muscles are so tensed that I’m worried that you’ll explode at some point.” he said massaging my tensed shoulders.

I sighed and relaxed as he does his magic. Lincoln knows how to do the best massages ever and I’m not kidding.

“I know, Lincoln. I know.”

He hummed. “I think that I know what you need.”

“What do I need? And please don’t tell me that I need to get laid, how Leaf told me.” I chuckled as he scoffed.

“Leaf is stupid and he doesn’t know what is he talking about. My sister doesn’t need to get laid. She doesn’t need boy when she has me. I’m all she needs.”

I started to laugh. “Overprotective much?”

He looked at me with widen eyes. “Me? I’m not overprotective! I’m just saying the truth. Anyway! I think that you need a vacation.”

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “And go where? Did you forgot that we are dead and we can’t go anywhere? And I don’t want to go in a vacation. I want to stay here and take my place back.”

He sighed and plumbed on a seat next to me. “Shadow, I think that you are stressing a little too much over this whole situation. I know how much this means for you, but if you keep going like this nothing will change and you will snap. You don’t react very well with stress and we both know it. Even your wound isn’t fully healed from this whole stupid stressing over nothing!”

Yeah, the burn isn’t completely heal, but it’s almost gone even if it should have been gone until now.

“And do you think that I don’t know all of this Lincoln? Well, I know but I can’t help it, okay? When I see how everyone treats me and how they look at me like I killed their whole damn family I can’t help it. I hate that they think that I’m not capable of leading a team and how everything is my damn fault. I heard some of them saying that I actually did in on purpose because I’m a dark undercover.” I rambled angrily at him and I started sadly at my mug.

He pulled me into a hug, rubbing my back and I rested my head on his shoulder. “You can do this sis. I know you can. You’ve been through worst and you’re still here so you can do it. They are just haters. You know, haters gonna hate, but if you have them, you know that you’re doing everything in the right way. If you need to talk or something you can tell me right away. I may have been absent for 2 years, but now I’m here and I want to help my twiny.”

A smile spread on my face as my eyes teared up. I hugged him tighter. “Thank you, Lincoln. I love you.”

He kissed my forehead. “I love you too sis and don’t forget what I told you. Now, let’s go and train out pretty asses.”

I chuckled as I wiped my eyes. “Okay, but let me change first. It doesn’t feel so good to run in jeans.”

“I agree with you at that one and I’ll go and change too. Meet here in 10.”

We stared at each other and raced to our rooms. He is the winner this time.

I quickly changed into my usual black gym gear and rushed back downstairs at the same time with Lincoln.

We glared at each other. “Well done, Potta.”

He nodded in my direction. “Malfoy.”

I love Harry Potter and I’m Slytherin for life. This idiot is a Griffinfor and Leaf is a Hufflepuff.

But Slytherins are the best.

We raced at the training field where everyone was already there.

As soon as we stopped running, Sharpedon sent us to run 10 laps around the forest that shields the whole building and town.

We have 30 minutes to finish this laps and if it takes us more than 30, we have 5 more laps.

I placed my earphones in my ears and started to run at a perfect pace. This way it will take me 29 minutes. Not too less not to more. Perfect timing.

After the laps, we played some dodge and our usual matches. At the final of the training, everyone was wrapped with a hot blanket of sweat and I can’t wait to hop in the shower.

“Red! Wait!”

I sighed when someone yelled after me as I was heading back. “What?”

He ran and stopped when he was by my side. “So do you thought about those lessons?” he asked with hope filling his black orbs and I can’t understand why he wants to learn me something.

“No.” I replied monotone and started at him.

His face fall and sadness flashed through his eyes. “Okay.” he started to walk away and I bit my lip.

I had a weird feeling in my stomach when I saw his sad eyes and I kind of feel bad for acting rude when he was all sweet. First time we met at the party he looked all cocky and smart ass, but in reality he is really sweet and kind.

I cursed myself for what I was about to do. “Wait!”

He stopped walking and looked at me confused. “Yes?”

I scratched my head and shifted from a foot to another. “You can be my mentor and help me.” I said staring at the ground not daring to look at him.

The awkwardness was eating me alive since he remained silent and I didn’t dared to look at him, but after 10 agonizing minutes I did. He was grinning from ear to ear, his cute dimples on full display.

“So....” I awkwardly trailed off as he kept grinning and staring at me.

He shook his head still smiling. “Right. First, do you know how to balance both parts?”

I furrowed my eyebrows. “What do you mean?”

“Justin, is that you?” he teased me and I rolled my eyes.

“I’m damn serious here, Gaze.” I know how he hates when someone calls him by his middle name.

He glared at me and I smiled innocently at him. “Can you balance both sides like using both Elementar powers and Dark powers at the same time?”

So he can fucking do that I didn’t even know that it’s possibly to do that. And that’s why he is the new leader and he’s better than me.

“Obviously, I don’t.” I mumbled stumping the ground with my foot.

He wrapped an arm around me and ruffled my hair. “Come on, Red. Don’t be like that. It’s fine if you don’t because it’s my job to teach you things. I can teach you other things from other departments too.” he smirked and I shoved him away with a little blush.

“I don’t need you to teach me in others departments because I’m already an expert.”

Yeah. An expert at eating 3 different kind of ice cream with 3 bags of cips in less than half an hour.

Don’t judge me! I’m eating when I’m stressed.

“Really? I don’t believe you until you show me.” he said with his smirk intact and I rolled my eyes.

“Back to my lesson...”

He pouted. “Party popper. To be honest I don’t know how to explain this to you.”

I rolled my eyes and took a seat on the grass. It should be freezing outside, but the whole building and the fields are covered with a spell that keeps the weather warm. I kind of envy the ones who can do spells and potions because I suck at them. I tried once to make a changing spell to turn a pen into a pencil and it turned into a freaking wolf. I pulled my feet underneath me and raised my hands. Both powers appeared but not in the same time. They were changing from one to another.

“I can’t do it.” I grumbled with a frown.

Stop believing that you two are different because you’re not. She isn’t a Dark and you’re not Elementar. You both are changers and you can control the both powers. If you can control this, it will be easier in battles and you’ll heal faster.”

I stared at him. He said everything with so much passion like he was living the moment and like this is a part of him. His eyes sparked as he kept going with his speech and his lips curled up in a confident smile.

I shook my head and closed my eyes concentrating again. This time I imagined how me and Bolt collide like we did the first time. The same warm feeling spread in my body and when I opened my eyes, I had in my right hand a light yellow sphere of lightnings and in the left one, a black sphere of lightnings.

A grin appered on my face and I got and started to jump. “I did it!! I fucking did it! Take that fuckers!”

He chuckled and he looked at me with pride in his eyes. He should be proud since he showed me how to do it.

“Good job, Red. I thought that this will be a lot harder, but if you keep learning things this fast, in 1 month you will be almost as good as me.” he said and ruffled my hair.

I slapped his hands and raised one eyebrow. “Almost?”

“Yes, because I’m too good and you can’t reach my standard. I’m too awesome.” he smirked and I know that he’s right.

I’ll never be as good and powerful as he is even if I try my whole life. I only can try to get as close as I can, but I’ll never be better than him.

“Hey. What’s wrong?” he asked as he placed one hand on my shoulder. He sounded truly worried.

I shook my head and forced a smile on my face. “Nothing. I just zoned out.”

“Yeah and I’m the motherfucking princess.” he snorted and I started to laugh.

“Actually, you are a prince already so you kind of are the motherfucking prince.”

He gave me a look and I raised my hands in surrender.

“Okay. Don’t tell me what’s ruining your mood. I’ll guess. I think it’s about your lover boy.”

He said and I started to laugh like the idiot I am. “You’re very funny, Sharp. I have no lover boy.”

“Then why the asshole came to me and threatened me to stay away from you?”

I stopped laughing when I saw that he was serious. “Who threatened you?”

He shrugged. “I don’t know his name. He’s a too big douchebag and he doesn’t deserves me to learn his name. And you can do better, Red.”

I rolled my eyes at him. “I don’t know about what are you talking about. I don’t have a lover boy.”

“That tall idiot with black hair. He’s a hybrid too.”

Black. I’ll kick his ass this time so hard that he every time he will seat down, he will wince and think about me.

A big scowl appeared on my face. “Next time he threatens you, please punch his so hard that he forgets his name and my name. I hate him with my whole heart.”

He raised his eyebrows, but I could see happiness in his eyes. “It will be my pleasure to put the fucktard in his place. And he is really stupid, I must say. He doesn’t even know that you’re a changer.”

“Really? But he saw me at training and my eyes changed its color. How stupid can he be?”

“It don’t know, but he said that if I keep trying to be ‘the golden changer’, he will kill me so he could be the only changer.”

I facepalmed myself. “God, I knew that he is kind of stupid, but I never imagined that he is this stupid. He does not stand a chance against you.”

“Nor against you because if he wants to be number 1 he must pass you and me. I’m more than sure that if he challenges you, you’ll kill him.” he said with a smirk.

“To be honest, I would. After everything he did to me, I’ll be more than happy to beat the crap out of him and then kill him, but if I do this now, people will hate me more. So I’m waiting my chance.” I said glaring at the ground.

He made his biggest mistake when he considered me just a challenge and a charity case. I can’t stand when people are pitying me. I don’t need their pity. I’m better than that and I don’t need their sorry looks and ‘kind words’. It makes me feel like I’m weak in their eyes and I hate to be weak.

“What he did to you?”

My head snapped in his direction. The smirk disappeared and now he looked kind of angered.

“It’s not important and I don’t want to talk about it. The only thing that matters is that I won’t forgive him, ever.” I said looking right into his pure black eyes, to show him how damn serious I am.

The anger in his eyes diminuate, but it was still there. “I won’t force you to tell me anything, but you can tell me if you want. I’m right here if you need me.”

Honesty replaced the anger from his eyes and my stomach did one of those weird flips.

I brushed the feeling off quickly and shoot him a smile. “Thanks. See you tomorrow.”

This guy is trying to get under my skin and it’s working. I have to stop this until it’s too late.

“Hey.”

I turned around and looked at him.

He smirked. “I like when you call me Sharp. Nobody calls me that, but this can be our thing, Red.”

“Whatever floats your boat, Gaze.” I said and kept walking, but a smile was placed on my face.

I heard him sigh and mumble. “This girl is impossible, I swear.”
