I don’t know who said or created this quote, but for the moment I found it scribbled on a table from the library, I knew that this will be my quote. I spent the last 2 years trying to make myself a better me and the only thing that kept me going was this quote. I want to be find my right time so I could say ‘I did it. I’m here, I’m all good and I have everything I could ever wish for.’ Even if I have the perfect friends, the perfect life and the perfect job, I’m still feeling like this isn’t my time. Of course, it’s hard to live a life like mine, but I never said that it’s a perfect life for everyone. It’s perfect for me and I would never change it. But something is still missing.

Two years passed and Bolt is the same annoying shit. And I’m still my grumpy self in the morning.

I shoved the spoon with the Strawberry Minis in my mouth and kept cursing this indecent hour of the morning. It’s fucking 7 AM and as always I’m tired as fuck. Sometimes, actually it sucks all the time to have insomnia.

After I completed the bond between me and Bolt, my insomnia kicked in along with other things. I have some meds to help me sleep at night, but I’m not taking them because if I sleep I’ll have nightmares so no, thank you. And it already sucks that I have to take 2 other pills for my ‘not very normal’ angry issues. Yup, I have anger management issues and if I get very angry like crazy angry, I turn psychotic. My final diagnostic is criminal psychopathy and severe angry issues, but since I started to treat them since they were at the beginning stage, you can’t see any signs of my psychopathy. If I take my meds, but it never passed a day without me taking them.

I looked up and saw Aiden munching half asleep at his waffle while Windy was happily making some coffee. Python was still sleeping, but this is just a temporary thing, until Aiden observes this. He can’t stand when someone is sleeping while he is awake, so if he wakes up at 5 AM, he will make all kind of sounds in the kitchen to wake us up. Once he was beating with a wooden spoon in a pan and when we asked him what the fuck is he doing, he shrugged and said “I was trying to kill a mosquito”. Riiight.

Leaf was in the living room watching the morning news. I don’t understand how can he look at that shit every single morning. It makes me feel bad when I see what awful things our kind can do.

Iron was already in the main building because Blast wanted to talk with him in private. Which is very weird since he usually talks with us all, but Iron has another job except this team. He has to escort the new students from the airport to the main building of H.I.D.E.

“SHADOW!!! AIDEN!!! COME HERE! I THINK THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED BY THIS NEWS.” Leaf hollered from the living and me and Aiden shared a look.

I shrugged and went in the living with a sigh. “What?”

“Shhh. Shut up and listen.” he motioned for me to sit and raised the volume.

“A potential conspiracy was found between the famous Elementar Academy for the gifted elementars walls. Once their best team is suspected to be part of a rebellion that wants to destroy everything our kind built in the past 1000 years. Now, the suspects are arrested and at 10 AM the process will be held and we will be back with the verdict: Traitors or A misunderstanding.”

On the screen appeared pictures with all of them and I averted my gaze. It passed 2 years, but I still have a grudge on them and I don’t want to see them.

Huh. They screwed things up big time if the judge will find them guilty and he will. Probably they will be sentenced to death or exiled, in the best case. I can’t believe that they were this stupid.

“Sucks for them.” Aiden said from behind me.

Leaf nodded. “Yup. But wait. You don’t know what happened.”

“And you know?” I asked in disbelief.

“Nope. But I know someone who can find out.” he said and we both turned to Aiden.

He is the big gossip boy or girl, I have seen in my entire life. He knows what happens around H.I.D.E and the latest news and monden gossips.

“No. Nup. Nu-uh. Not gonna happen. I’m not going to investigate this for 2 reasons. One: I don’t fucking want to. They don’t deserve to have a proper investigation and Two, I’m sure that Blast already knows and is trying to cover their asses if they really were part of a rebellion.”

“Come on Aiden! Just ask Blast.” Leaf whined, but I know that this won’t work.

Aiden shook his head. “He won’t tell me. He never does and I’m not a leader so I can’t ask him. And if Shadow asks him about them, again, he won’t tell her. There are some gossips that even I can’t reach.”

I groaned and took my seat at out table at the cafeteria. “I hate teenagers. The ones with mental problems the most. I don’t understand why your father made me to talk with the ones that refuse to come to your therapy! They are getting on my nerves!” I said annoyed and glanced at Windy.

She shrugged from across the table with fighting with her pastas. “I don’t know. He never told me. Sometimes he does things like this.”

“Come on, Moonlight! You were once an annoying mental sick teenager. Don’t be so harsh with them.” Leaf said as he throw a fry at me.

I cached it with my mouth and smirked as he rolled his eyes.

“GUYS!! I have news!! Guess what!” Aiden yelled excited as he seat down next to Windy.

She kissed his cheek and chuckled at his excitement.

I rolled my eyes. “Just tell us already. We never guess what your new gossip is.”

“I know and the last one was simple.”

Leaf rolled his eyes. “How we were supposed to know that Knot set on fire Blast’s cat? Even Windy didn’t knew that he had a cat in the first place!”

Aiden sighed. “Sometimes I think that you live under a rock.”

Me and Leaf shared a look and yelled “I’M PATRICK!!”

“Back to my gossip!!! Tomorrow we will have new students.”

Both of us turned our attention to him.

“Students. At plural.” I said and he nodded.

“Moonlight, you know what it means?? New hotties!!! This time I’m searching for a brunet. I’m over blond guys. They are too weird. And fucking jackasses with perfect smiles that break your heart by yelling at you that ‘You are fucking annoying’.” Leaf rambled angrily and I patted his arm.

He has a big crush on Python since he came here, but we are talking about the reptile here. Poor Leaf tried everything to gain his attention but he would call him annoying and leave. Me and Leaf groaned. “But tomorrow the new hotties are coming! We can’t miss them!” Leaf said frustrated and I agreed with him.

Python glared at us and sometimes I think that he gets jealous when he hears me and Leaf talking about hit guys, but I’m not completely sure.

“Idiots.” Iron muttered. “Our task is to guard them and show them around because it seems like they are pretty dangerous. They tried to kill their last guards and escape.”

I snorted. “So lets sent Team Apocalypse because they can’t die. Really? I don’t think that they are so dangerous and powerful.”

“Mrrr. I bet that all of them are tall, dark, dangerous, mysterious and handsome. Just how I want my man.” Leaf said with a dreamy face and I chuckled agreeing with him.

Come on ladies! We all want that kind of dude! But some of us, *cough* me *cough*, will die alone with 4 dogs, 3 cats and one owl.

Iron glared at us for interrupting him. “And we have to meet with them and Blast at 8 AM.”

We all groaned and I banged my head on the table.

“But tomorrow it was the only day when we all could sleep until 10. He can’t do that to us!” I whined but stopped when Iron sent me a no-more-arguing look.

“And we have to wear our uniforms.”

“Come on you have to be motherfucking kidding me!!” Python yelled angrily and pushed his plate away.

Iron shrugged. “This are the orders. They can’t see our faces until Blast is not sure that they are trustworthy.”

“Whatever. We will just do it and after that I’m leaving to get a lunch nap. I don’t care what he says because he can’t get between me and my naps.”

“Get rid of those sad faces and let’s go and practice.” Iron said and we all got up and went to the training fields.

The cool thing about this fields is that here is always warm, no matter how cold is outside. It’s the end of November and the first snow is threatening to fall, so you can figure out how cold it is.

“Everyone go to your place! Let’s get started.” I yelled and went to my place too.

We aren’t just Team Apocalypse that fights with Darks and Elementars to make peace. We are also the Dodge team. Here at H.I.D.E, you can practice any sport you want because they have them all. From football and volley to dodge and horsemanship, but dodge is the main one. Every year all the academy’s participates at a big dodge tournament. We are the winners from the last 2 years and we are going to win the next year too.

We have 3 throwers: Leaf, Windy and Knot. Shocking, but that pyromaniac is very good at setting people on fire. The sneaker is Python with his water element. I’m the runner and the catcher since we don’t have enough people and the judges are fine with it. And the flyer is Aiden, obviously.

At each match we have to wear our black gears and wear our usual masks because we can’t risk to be discovered. If someone would find one if we are alive....I don’t even want to imagine what will happen. The masks are covering only our eyes area and we made them to appear with our mark. All our masks are black, but it looks different for each of us. The edges of the masks are different because mine has sharp edges like how a lightning looks and the rest have the edges regarding with their element.

After 5 hours of intense training, our personal trainer, Aiden, decided that we had enough. This fucker won’t let us go home before one of us is panting on the ground, almost fainting.

We have our own house in the residential area. This area is at a 10 minutes walk away from H.I.D.E. It’s all hidden between the woods and it’s reserved only for teams. Also, at a distance of almost 1 km it’s a small town with all kind of shops, cinemas and 2 malls. The town is called Phantasma because you can’t find it on any map or GPS and it’s owned by the rebellion.

I dragged myself out of my bathroom after a very long shower and jumped in my comfy bed. My room is all decorated in black and white except the carpet which it’s a dark purple. Above the bed, I placed pictures with me and my friends. I even put those with my old friends there. Sometimes I kind of miss them and look at those pictures, but then the nostalgia is replaced with anger and hatred.

What they did this time? Would they be okay? Wait. Why I even care? Why I’m even thinking about them?

I sighed and turned in my bed. I have a feeling that tomorrow will be a very long and dammed day.
