I was dreaming that I was somewhere on top of a mountain. The sun was rising behind me and the cold breeze was playing with my hair. I was smiling like crazy. Someone called my name and I turned around to see who it was. It was-

“SHADOW!!! WE ARE LATE!! WE OVERSLEPT.”

I was on my feet in less than 2 seconds. My mind is working very slow in the morning so I stared 2 minutes at Leaf before registering his words.

“WHAAAAT??? FUCK.” I ran in my bathroom to get ready.

“I KNOW. THAT’S WHAT I SAID!!” Leaf yelled back and I heard his footsteps fading.

I can’t believe that I overslept. My alarm clock rang at 7, but I pressed the snooze button and went back to sleep. Or so I thought.

God, if I’m late Blast is going to give me hell about it and he will send me to those classes about ‘How to be a reasonable leader’.

I shudder at the thought.

I ran in my walk in closet and dressed in my uniform which consists: a white slim shirt with a silver necklace with a lightning pendant, a pair of black skinny jeans, a black jacket with the emblem of the rebellion (the 3 lions), black leather without-fingers gloves and black combat boots. This uniform is made special for each team and we use this one only when we have guests. For missions we have another uniform. A more safe and cooler one.

I quickly applied some mascara on my eyelashes and made my mask appear.

“DONE.” I yelled and ran out of the house. Leaf followed me closely behind.

“I can’t believe that they left without us.” he mumbled angrily and I would too, but I was still half asleep.

“Maybe they thought that we are awake. I mean, come on. How were they supposed to know that we are going to be late for a task? We usually are on time. FUCK. It’s 7:58!!!! RUN.” I said and we started to run like mad men.

“God, they will skin us alive! And I like my natural bronze and clear skin!!”

I scoffed and dodged past a branch. “Can’t say the same thing. I’m white like fuck, but at last I don’t have acnee anymore.”

We busted through the main front doors. “WE’RE HERE!” We yelled and bumped our fists.

The new students were in front of us with Blast and our friends were in front of them. When they heard us, everyone turned to look at us.

“Here they are! How I said, always on time.” Blast said and sent us death glares since we were almost late.

I wanted to give him a good comeback, but I was froze on my spot when I saw the new students. Just now I saw how tensed Windy, Aiden, Iron and Python were. They recognised them.

My face broke into a smirk.

“Well, well, what we have here? The notorious Team Alpha? What brings you here, in our little crazy hole?” I asked and walked to my friends.

“Fate. And you should cut that attitude bitch or I’ll cut you.” Sparky threaten me and I started to laugh.

They didn’t changed one bit. They look the same, just a little older and they are the same arogant fuckers. I’m arogant too, but they aren’t in the position to be like that when I have all the rights.

“Just try to touch her and I’ll rip you into shreds. Nobody messes with my best friend.” Leaf growled at her and his eyes turned dark green.

“And you try to touch her and I will kill you.” Ash growled back at Leaf and stepped in front of Sparky.

I cached Leaf’s arm and pulled him back. “Don’t kill him, Wave. I don’t want you to get dirt on your hands. I said dirt because that’s what you all are. Little pieces of fucking dirt.” I snapped at them and they took a step back.

When I get angry, I’m very scary and I can do bad things that I won’t regret later. I’m also this scary because changers perks.

“STOP.” Blast yelled and me and Leaf went back to our places.

Windy came next to me and the boys were behind us. We were sending daggers at the new team.

“I suggest you to treat them with respect because they will guard you and show you around. If you don’t cooperate” he stopped and looked at us “You know what you have to do.”

I smirked. If they don’t do what we’re telling them, we have to make them to listen to us. With force.

“You are lucky to be here, so don’t make me rethink my decision. And you” he turned to us again and glared “try to behave as much as possible. I’m not telling you to become best friends. Just try to not rip each others throat.”

Blast straighten his suit. “Now. This is the best team we have here, Team Apocalypse. This is the once best team from an Elementar Academy, Team Alpha. My team already know you guys, so I’ll present you must team.”

We puffed our chests and waited for our name to be called. As he calls our names we have to take our masks off. Team Alpha was already staring at us, but I still couldn’t look straight at them. Or at a certain person, who’s gave I feel on me.

“My daughter which is also a psyhologist here, Windy Tornado.” she took off her mask and glared at them.

“Python Block of Blackice, a Dark royal.” he did what Windy did, but he kept his face straight. It looks like he was having a staring contest with Flame. It’s hard to guess the winner.

“Leaf Wave of Earthquake, an Elementar royal.” Hazel gasped and stared at Leaf as he took his mask off then glared at his brother.

I was getting a little anxious as Blast was getting closer to my name, but I don’t even know why.

“Iron Wolf of Greystorm, a Dark royal.” he kept glaring at Black and I wanted to laugh so hard.

“And the last one, but the most important one, the leader of Team Apocalypse. Shadow Thunder of Moonlight, an Elementar royal.” I kept a neutral face and stared at them as I took my mask down.

All of them were staring open mouthed at me, not believing what they are seeing.

“It’s rude to stare and close your mouths before your last neurons fly out of your head through your mouth.” I smirked and finally made eyes contact with Black.

He looks paler than usual, skinnier and he has dark bags under his eyes. He looks like crap.

“H-how it is possible? You died...” Lincoln muttered and I rolled my eyes.

“I’m here, ain’t I? Raven faked my death. No, actually he wanted to kill me then, but Iron saved me and my ass.” I said and smiled at Iron just to make them feel bad. Just to remainder them that this smile it won’t be directed to them too soon.

Iron smiled back at me and we both turned back to glaring at the idiots in front of us.

“I have to leave for a meeting, so I’ll leave Team Alpha in your hands. Don’t do anything stupid. I’m talking with you all except Windy and Iron because I know that they won’t do anything irrational. Show them around and then their rooms.” he said and he was ready to leave before Iron stopped him.

“In which house they will live?”

“Inn yours duuh. I can’t let them unsupervised right now, so they will stay with you until I’ll decide that they are good on their own.”

My head snapped to Blast and I glared at him so hard. My fists clenched by my sides and I was trying not to kill someone.

“Fine.” I said through clenched teeth and he left. “Show them around because I had enough for today. I’m going to take a nap.”

I walked to the exit with confident steps when Black tried to catch my wrist.

“Lighty-”

“Don’t.” I growled out at him and ducked my wrist. “Don’t try to touch me ever again, Black. Or you will regret it so much, later.”

“Stupid Blast. Stupid Team Alpha. Stupid insomnia. Stupid TV!! Why I can’t find a fucking decent show! Or better, a penguind documentary!” I mumbled angrily as I stuffed more cips in my mouth.

I’m sitting on the sofa in the living room, wrapped into my dark blue blanket with snowflakes, trying to find a decent fucking show! I would watch Netflix, but Iron deleted it because we spend too much time on it. Jackass.

Finally, I settled for cartoon network, where Tom and Jerry was playing.

What? You’re never too old for Cartoons and I have to distract myself with something.

After 4 episode of Tom and Jerry and 3 of Scooby Doo, I was almost falling asleep, but nooo. Someone has to ruin everything.

Iron walked in with the rest of the idiots and I could barely look at them.

“Those are cips?” “That’s my hoodie?” Iron and Leaf asked at the same time and I quickly hide the hoodie and the empty cips bag behind the blanket.

“No is the answer for both questions. Now, let me sleep.” I groaned and turned my back to them. Too much attention is on me.

“Go to your room and sleep. Maybe some of us want to watch a movie in the living.” Iron said and I brushed him off.

“Can’t. I don’t have a sofa in my room.”

“That’s not possible because I don’t have the necessary disposition and I don’t anything to tell you.”

He looked at me with his sad puppy eyes. “Two minutes. Please, Shadow.” he asked softly and I bite my lip.

I hate when he uses that face and that tone because it makes me give in to his cuteness.

“Two minutes. Start talking or I’m leaving.” I mumbled and he smiled happily before he became serious.

“I’m sorry for everything I did. I-”

“I don’t need your excuses, Black. Keep them and shove them in your ass for all I care. What is done is done and you can’t do anything to change it.” I cut him off.

“I know and I wish I could travel in time back to that moment and change everything. I thought that if I tell Raven he will put you in some kind of program and we will see you again after 2 months. I tried to help you, but I screwed it up big time and I’m sorry. That wasn’t my intention.”

I was dandling my feet staring at the floor and playing with my ring. “Why none of you was there when I left? You know how bad I felt? No, of course you don’t. I felt like the latest and the shitiest person from this entire world. You didn’t gave 2 flying fucks.”

My chest tightens with the feeling coming back. I felt un-fucking-wanted.

He shook his head and tried to take my hand, but my glare stopped him. “None of us was there, because we didn’t know that you’re leaving in that day. We didn’t know where you were or what’s happening to you. Raven refused to tell us.”

“What about the pictures, the pack of jellies and the ring? How you put them if you didn’t knew when I was leaving?” I asked this time staring right in his beautiful eyes.

They are as beautiful as I remember them to be. They look a little more tired and empty, but that’s all.

“I thought that he would do something like that and I placed them there to be sure that you will so them.” he stopped and looked like he was debating something. “W-when I saw at the news that you died in an explosion, I felt guilty and miserable. At first that this must be a sick joke. Then reality hit me. You may not believe me, but I cared about you when I did what I did and I still care about you. You don’t know how happy I am too see you alive. I thought that I lost you forever, but you’re here, next to me being your sarcastic self.” his eyes were shining with honesty.

My lips twitched a little at the corners, but I refuse to smile. I’m still angry and disappointed. I understand what he did and I feel somehow better to hear that, but that’s me. My heart warmed when I heard that he cared and still does, but I won’t forgive him. At last not yet.

“I understand, but I can’t forgive you. You did a lot of stupid things and you hurt me in many ways.”

“I know and I regret every single one. Please, Lighty, forgive me.” he pleaded and I shook my head.

“Let me tell you something. Life is like a card game. You are given the cards and you must know how to play them. Yes, you need a bit of luck too, but like in any kind of game, you need to think and play your cards well. Now, you just lost a stuck of tokens in this game where the stuck is me and the game is your life. Good luck in the next round, Black.” I said and hopped from the counter ready to leave.

A hand grabbed my wrist making me to stop dead in my tracks.

“Okay, I understand that. But I won’t give up until you’re mine. I lost you one time and I’m not going to lose you the second time too. I’ve learnt how to play my cards and now it’s time for the final game. Push me away, hate me, curse me, beat me, but I won’t give up on you. Not this time.” he was looking at me and I realised how serious he is. How he means every single word.

I stared at him unable to say anything. His face and eyes says that he’s serious, but I still have my doubts. Is this for real? Am I dreaming or something?

He hopped on his feet and stopped at the kitchen’s door before he left. “I mean every single word and I won’t stop until I make my dream come true. That’s my mission for now. Night, Lighty.”

He left and I was standing in the middle of the kitchen like an idiot not knowing what to do. I’m still shocked by him confession and my stomach was still doing flips from his nickname.
