I opened my eyes groggily,my head felt like it was splitting into two and I groaned. Wondering why the room seemed so unfamiliar. 

It wasn’t the peach painted room with an amazing bed frame that smelled like Daisy nor was it my white painted room in Vegas that smelled like jasmine. 

I sat up quietly,taking in the very unfamiliar scene. I know this smell…I gasped. Ketamine. 

The events of the previous night suddenly came rushing back to me. 

Flashback 

“This is a mistake,” I groaned as I stared at the crowd in the club dancing to the loud upbeat music that threatened to rupture my eardrum. 

“No…please. Come on,for me,” Sherry pouted. She wanted me to feel better and her idea of feeling better was clubbing. 

I was able to save the patient. I used that tincture anyways because without it,he was as good as dead. So the clubbing was a way to cheer me up about the unfortunate events and congratulate me for a job well done. 

I have always hated clubbing,but Sherry kept bugging me and now Here I am, in a tight red dress that was like a vacuum,sucking the oxygen out of my b*dy and a five inch heels that gave me a backache. Courtesy of Sherry. 

I scrunched my nose as the mixture of perfume combined with strong smell of liquor filled the air. My head was spinning terribly even though I haven’t even had my first drink. 

I gasped as someone slapped me on my ass and glared at the culprit in disbelief as he winked at me. I looked at my outfit and groaned, of course I looked like a hooker!. 

Alright, I’m getting out of here, this isn’t my thing. I thought as Sherry pulled me inside,leaving no room for protests. 

Sherry left me alone as she hit the dance floor and I took that as my cue to leave. Raven must be worried by now. I told him not to follow me as I was going to Sherry’s apartment.

I should be looking for my boys,not partying. I brought my phone out and was about to send Sherry a text when some people rushed in and I collided with them. I groaned as I saw my phone smash to pieces. 

“Hey hey Jessica,” I heard someone call out and I turned and then smiled when I saw a familiar face. It was Raymond,a fellow doctor. 

“You don’t look okay,” he said and I sighed. 

“I shouldn’t be here“, I pointed at Sherry. She dragged me here. I’m supposed to find my boys” 

“I’m sorry about that. Haven’t they asked for ransom?,” 

We sat down behind the bar and I sighed. “There’s been no information at all. But my cousin who is a cop said he has some leads now” 

“The one you went to meet?,” 

“Yes,” I had told him when he called that I went to see my family and my cousin who was a cop has been helping with the case. 

“You’ll find them soon. I hope you do,” He said and I smiled. I really hope I do. 

“Care for a drink? Or do you want to get out of here?” He asked and I sighed. 

I don’t do well with crowd. I just wanted to leave. 

“I don’t want to get drunk or stay here either” 

“Well then,let’s get out of here,” 

I should’ve asked where we were going to but I just wanted to leave the club that I didn’t care. 

We ended up going to a hotel,and I objected,I didn’t want to stay in a hotel with a man,not when I now belonged to another. 

“I’m sorry,I can’t…” 

“Relax,I won’t do anything you don’t want me to,I just want to keep you company. I don’t want you thinking about anything. There is a double bed in the room if that’s what you’re worried about…I could change it to separate room if you’re still worried”

He sounded like he genuinely did care and I decided to go with him. It’s not like anything will happen anyways. 

“It’s fine,” I said as I followed him inside.. 

It was a harmless conversation at first until he brought out ketamine. He told me to try it once and I don’t know how once became too many that I blacked out. 

Present 

I groaned as I went to the bathroom to have a shower quickly. I should be lucky I wasn’t stupid enough to have S*x with him. 

I flagged down a taxi as I got out and went straight to my house. Immediately I entered the house, I knew something was very wrong. The hairs on my back stood. up and my heart began to beat heavily in my chest. 

“Raven!!!,” I shouted his name. He was supposed to be here. It was then I saw the trail of blood. I walked swiftly towards where it was coming from and I gasped as I fell to the ground sobbing. 

“No no no no!” He was supposed to look after me. This isn’t supposed to happen. again. More importantly, I needed to get out of here fast. Why is this happening 

now?!. 

I went out quietly and put the key in the ignition, then I went back inside and quickly dragged Raven to the car. I didn’t know where the strength came from for someone my size against a dead man who weighed about 70 pounds. I quickly went to work cleaning the house,to get rid of any stain of blood. After then, I drove 

off.

There were still tears on my eyes when I entered Silverpine community. I drove straight to the mansion. The atmosphere was tense but I had more pressing matters than whatever was wrong here. 

“What are you doing here?, it was Giselle,she looked like she’s seen better days. 

“What happened here,?” My eyes were still glossy. 

“I ask the question here Woman!. What the fuck are you doing here?!”

I was shocked with the harsh tone of her voice. “Where is Lucien?,” 

“He doesn’t want to see you” My expression was beyond shock. 

“Raven’s dead” 

“Roland’s dead” 

We said simultaneously and gasped. 

“How?,” 

“The Crone has been kidnapped too. You were wrong. She’s not who we’re looking for” Giselle said as she took a step forward. 

“And while my brother is taking care of the mess in Silverpine, you were busy having a good time!,whoring around with a human!” 

My eyes widened in shock and I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. 

“How did you know?,” I asked,shaking my head in denial. 

“You weren’t counting on us to find out,were you?,you thought you could just lie your way and get away with it..Get out!. Get out!!!” 

“I…I….please let me just see him…I can explain…it’s not…” 

“Not what I think?,” it was Lucien’s voice and the tears came out freely now. 

“I’m so sorry Lucien…I…I…I didn’t mean for this to happen..” 

He cut in, “you didn’t think I’ll find out..” 

“No no no…” I broke down in tears… “Please,let me explain..” 

“Get out. Get the fuck out of here” he thundered. 

I was on the floor,in tears as I thought about what to do. I couldn’t just leave like this. If I do,Lucien looks pissed off and I know he would never let me see my boys again. 

“Where is Raven?,” He questioned and I glanced up at him,the others were coming out of the house now because of the noise.

“Dead,” Giselle said as we answered at the same time.

I saw Eve in her black and red polka dot dress with her black l*pstick looking at me from afar,her eyes portraying her disappointment as she turned her back on me,going back inside. 

Greyson came out with some others again as they went to my car,opening it and carrying a dead Raven inside. 

Lucien looked at me for a while before speaking. “I don’t want to see you here again” 

“I am your mate!,” I almost yelled in between sobs and he chuckled. 

“I rejected you before and I can still reject you again.” 

I winced at his words,but it was possible. He could still reject me again and I felt Nova’s sadness as I closed my eyes, anticipating his rejection. 

He turned his back and walked back inside and I was left on my own with tears in my eyes wondering what I was going to do.
