Chapter 23 

I watched her like a hawk as she moved about,oblivious to the pair of eyes that watched her every move. 

She had no reason to suspect me,after all she knows me to be her ally,one of Lucien’s people. 

Lucien smiled as she whispered something to him and giggled like a child. He saw me watching and I smiled. 

‘She wants to go back to human territory,they need her there. You know She’s an incredible doctor” he said as he walked to me,she was standing by his side. 

She hadn’t told him that she used tinctures from the wolf world to treat humans. She was good,but it was what she used that helped her. 

He noticed the surprise on my face and smiled, 

“I know, I know..But she’s insisting and she’s stubborn” he looked at her and she smiled at him,leaning on his huge frame. 

“But Raven will be there to protect her in case there’s any trouble” he completed. 

I sighed in relief,it was an act to make Lucien believe I cared. 

I did care anyways, I cared about her leaving Silverpine. She was stronger than she knew she just had to leave and everything will be fine. Her being by Lucien’s side made him stronger. 

If she doesn’t leave, Rielle will find ways to kill her. I wondered how she survived the poison that was injected in her,it should’ve killed her. Except her powers were already awakening. It couldn’t be!,it was too soon. 

Rielle acted on her own,she didn’t even consult me before attacking Amara!. She’s just too stubborn for her own good. 

Lucien muttered something along the line of going to shoot arrows alone before wandering off. 

I strode out of the mansion,careful not to be noticed by anyone. It wasn’t like anyb*dy would pay any attention to me anyways,i lived in the shadow of Lucien,

I walked briskly,my bones crunching and changing as I ran to the hideout. It was funny that We were Right under Lucien’s nose and he didn’t even know it. 

Immediately I got there, I saw Rielle looking at me with smiles, I quickly changed. and she flung a robe at me. 

“What have you done!!,” I questioned through gritted teeth. 

“Calm down!” She said,passing me a drink and I sighed and took it from her,gulping it down in a single shot. 

“What did you hope to achieve by killing her?” I raked my hands through my hair as I sat down. 

“She has to leave silverpine and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure of that”

My gaze met hers and I was suddenly afraid to say the words. 

“She’s becoming her” I breathed out and Rielle took my hands and covered them with hers.

She dropped my hands and stood up, “if killing her will prevent the prophecy,so be it!.”

“No buts. If you don’t have the guts to do what needs to be done, then I will. At least now she knows she’s not safe in silverpine. If she were smart, she’d leave” she bit. out firmly and I sighed. 

She was right, Amara in silverpine beside Lucien will make Lucien untouchable. She had that power but she didn’t know it.

Rielle cut in, “wonderful!,she finally decided to go back to where she should be“. She turned to me,beaming with smiles. 

“Lucien is vulnerable now,more than ever,we have to act quickly before it becomes. too late” she said,taking a sip of her drink. “And we will never know unless we try!” 

“We have to act quickly then,she left to treat a sick person as a Favour to her human friend…” 

“Sherry did it!!” She yelled,interrupting me and smiled widely. 

Who the hell is sherry?, I thought as Rielle laughed throatily,bringing out a phone from the bag lying on the table. 

She dialed a number and after a few rings the person on the other end picked as I heard her speak into the phone. 

“You did it sherry!. I owe you a big one…Of course I will……don’t worry,consider it done….keep her there for a long time,do what you have to…I know…keep me posted…alright” 

The call seemed to have ended as she kept the phone on the table. 

“That was one of our allies in the human territory” she said turning to look at me. 

“Ally?,in the human territory?” I asked scrunching my brows together in confusion. 

“Sherry is a wolf too. She’s just been in the human world for too long. But she still recognizes her own and is still loyal to the one true Alpha” she drawled out and I looked at her in surprise. 

“She is a wolf?” I questioned in surprise,I had heard of Sherry from Lucien. He said she was Amara’s best friend. 

“She knew who Amara was all these years?,who she really is?” I asked again. 

“She did. She knows about the prophecy too. She knows about you,about us. It was her who came to me first,informing me of Lucien’s children and the prophecy. It’s why I decided to help you” she narrated and I stared at her in awe.

So this supposed friend had been watching her for a long time!. 

“She isn’t from silverpine pack. She’s from the original greyvine.” 

I was about to say something when two men,my own people dragged someone into the room. 

“What is this?” I thundered,pointing at the person they dragged who had a sack. over his head. 

“I ordered them to bring her” Rielle said and I turned to stare at her in shock. 

“Her?,who is this?!” 

“Agatha or the crone rather“: 

I growled and gritted my teeth. Rielle keeps doing things that infuriated. me,without asking for my permission!. 

“Take her to the cell,make sure she can’t get away. This one is one sneaky old b*tch” Rielle said to the men and they dragged the crone out. 

“What did you do?” I questioned breathlessly as I clenched my fist. 

“I brought the crone here, I kidnapped her rather or should I call it a jail break?,since they broke her out of the “well guarded” cell” 

I stormed down to the room,punching the wooden door aside as it gave way. 

Rielle trailed behind me, “we’ll need to fix that door“. 

I sat down on the bed, forcing myself to take a few slow deep breaths as I thought about the current situation. 

“You’ve jeopardized our cause,you’ve risked our safety!. This is the height of it!!” 

She yelled back, “I am doing what needs to be done!. Everything I’ve done has been for this cause!. Everything!. I’ve risked my life and that of my family!. She inhaled deeply, “My grandfather!, my poor grandfather rots in a cell in silverpine and I can’t do anything about it!. Lucien hunts me and is after my blood,the little wolf wills me dead and is gaining strength day after day and what happens when she finally becomes her?. The people of silverpine sees me as an evil Luna“,I glanced at her.

“Everyone wants me dead!. I can’t be with the man I love for fear of risking his life. and you dare talk to me about risks. I have risked my life more than anyone pledged to this cause” she breathed out. I held her palms tenderly,mine covering hers.

“She will If we do it right” she said and didn’t give me time to say anything as she scampered to the room where the crone was tied up. I followed behind her briskly and Rielle removed the sack over her head and her blindfold and the gag on her 

mouth. 

She didn’t seem surprised when she saw me. She just smiled crookedly.
