Chapter 40 

After Rielle’s confession,everything changed. She told us she was forced by Norman and that he made her murder Rolan to prove herself. 

I didn’t believe her one bit. But Lucien seemed to as he didn’t put her in the cell or throw her out. 

I was in my room with Rick, he hadn’t spoken about Kai since his return,which was almost 3 days now. I didn’t want to pressurize him as I knew he’d speak when he was ready,but I couldn’t wait!. I need to know how my son has been. 

Lucien went to the hideout and came back with no result. Norman and his other rogues had found out about Rielle’s escape and must have decided to change location.

I bit my lower l*ps and inhaled deeply. “I’ll figure out what to do about that. Right now,I need to meet grandma,” I stated and she nodded.

I didn’t realize that I had been crying.

I dug into my bag and removed my EarPods,making sure it was playing the theme. of his favourite Nickelodeon show. After putting them on his ear and making sure his eyes were still closed, I shifted,noticing how easy it was this time. 

I walked towards the scene,careful not to growl. My grandmother was on the ground in a pool of her own blood. I stood beside her and began to sniff around. 

I knew she was dead,the stench of blood was still fresh,it couldn’t have been more than an hour since she died.

Maybe I wasn’t as careful as I thought. Maybe this ‘power‘ of mine was something important,but how?. 

If Eve could find out about it,then someone else could. Maybe Rielle and her spies. I was already convinced that Rielle had people working for her in the mansion. It’ll make sense,to understand what has been going on.
