Chapter 39 

The gasps and shocked whispers from the guests echoed in my ears, propelling me forward. My instincts kicked in as I hurriedly ran forward determined to rescue my child before she did anything.

The three of us screamed simultaneously as Rick ran into my arms and I held him tightly,my voice trembling with emotion as I whispered, “I love you” in a mixture of relief and joy. 

I pulled out and pulled him behind me,determined to not let anything happen to him anymore. 

“Take her to the cell and make sure she doesn’t try to leave this time,” Lucien growled at the guards. 

There was something different about her,a certain vulnerability and I remembered the last time I was here with her,she was in my position then. I felt pure rage as I watched her try to speak. 

“What have you got to say?How not guilty you are?you tried to kill me!!,” I said,stepping closer and jabbing a finger to her face. 

Her head was bent, “No,I deserve whatever punishment anyone deems fit for me,” She said,her voice sounding remorseful. 

“Take her away,now!,” Lucien barked, turning to Greyson. 

“Please, I’m still the Luna,” she said and I scoffed. 

“Yea..a killer Luna,” I gritted my teeth as I willed myself to not attack her. 

“Where is Kai?,” I asked her again and I swear I could see her eyes glimmering with 

tears.

“Where is my baby?,” I asked,my fists clenching as I felt Nova about to emerge. 

“He…please I tried. I promise I did,” She said and started sobbing.

I felt strong arms pull me into a hard chest and I sobbed as I smelled the familiar scent of sandalwood and citrus, Lucien. 

I felt all eyes on us and as he pulled away I felt a certain kind of emptiness.

“No!!!” Someone shouted and we turned. It was Rielle and she was struggling to get away from the guards who had restrained her.

I pulled out of Lucien’s grip and step forward. “Rielle Archer, traitor of Silverpine community. Do you have any objections?,any valid objection?,” I asked through gritted teeth.

“What do we do to people who tries to murder the Alpha?,or hurt and kidnap little. children? or hurt the Alpha’s mate?,” I paused and then lowered my voice a little. 

“Normally, we’d behead them.” 

Lucien beckoned to Greyson to get her out of his sight and as he was dragging her out,she kept shouting, then she said something that made Greyson stop. 

“I’m carrying your Child Lucien!,” she blurted out and I saw the guards dragging her left her. I shook my head in denial and faced Lucien. 

“You can’t possibly believe her. She’d say anything to get out of this mess,” I said,tightening my grip on Lucien’s arm. 

She began to walk towards us and when she wanted to step onto the dais,the guards restrained her and she looked at them, then at Lucien. When she saw that he wouldn’t make any attempt to let her come close to him,she began to speak

“I..I still have your mark..our bond is still there..,” she was saying and with every word coming out of her mouth, my rage intensified.

Today is supposed to be a good day but the only thing good that has happened far is that she brought Rick which began to make me wonder why she brought him. Lucien who had been silent all the while finally spoke. 

“You said you’re with child,” he stated and I held his hands tightly. This woman is messing with his head.
