The Return of the Assassins
CHAPTER 5

Once we arrived at Chin’s house, it surprised me. The size and location of the house were secluded and enormous. It was on the North side of the forest. I guess he doesn’t like many people around him. The house was three stories high and it almost seem magical. It had a very calming atmosphere to it.

As we went into the house, I could not help but to stare at everything and touch everything as we pass by. It was beautiful. Some of the decor you could see was ancient, not part of this century. With heavy wooden doors with engrave pictures on them and big heavy curtains, sculptures of wolves and totems that I didn’t even know existed. It was like stepping into another world. It was mesmerizing.

“Scarlet, Violet, I would like to introduce you to an old friend of mine, Peter. Peter, this is Scarlet and Violet.” As we shake hands, I could not help but to sniff a little to see if I can smell him. He almost smelled of death, cold and emotionless. While his face was like a statue that was carved to perfection. He had white hair that was tied in a ponytail at the back and his eyes were a light blue colour. His face was square shaped, and he was dressed in an all black suit.

With a small smile on his face, he greeted us. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. Never thought I will meet an Assassin again.” “Good day. The pleasure is all mine. Never thought I will meet a Vampire.” As we look sternly at each other, analyzing each other. Chin started talking. “Right, Violet, he will be your tutor on all your subjects. I am sure you two will work very well together.”

“Yes, I am sure we shall. When do we start? It’s almost examination time.” As Violet said this, she never took her eyes off Peter, possibly debating in her mind if she can trust him or not. “We will start now if you will follow me to the study.” Then Peter started walking to the door on the left. Although he is a Vampire, I knew he could be trusted, otherwise Chin would have never introduced us to him.

“Right Baby girl, let’s also get started.” As he said that, I just rolled my eyes. I don’t think I will ever get used to that nickname. “Follow me… I will show you where we will do the training.” As I followed him up to the second floor, I noticed on the entire floor there was only one door, which was unusual for me. When we step into the room, it was like his training studio in town. It even had the same decor. “So, as you can see, it looks the same as the studio in the city, so you know where everything is. You can change in the ladies’ room and meet me on the mats.” I did as I was told and met him on the mats where he was already sitting in a meditation position. As I sat opposite him, he opened his eyes and informed me that the training we were starting was going to be more intense that it previously was. He will not hold back on his strength and speed any more, as I need to learn how to use mine.

He will teach me in how to channel my inner Assassin and use all my senses. How to sense that an Inhumane is near me and to remember that I can tell no one about this world as it is a secret society that we are part of now. There aren’t many rules in the Supernatural world, just that if you are a rough that you need to stay on free land not allowed to go in any pack lands unless give permission.

The Vampires may drink from humans, but only the humans that the Council has cleared and know what is going on in the Supernatural world and have given their consent, which Chin advised me was few. I don’t know why anyone would agree to something like that, but the world is full of weirdos that will be crazy enough. And then there is the one most imported rule that no one is allowed to tell a Human of the Supernatural world unless given permission from the Council. If you break these rules, it is punishable by death.

“Okay Baby girl, we are going to start with meditation so close your eyes and relax, concentrate on your breathing.” We did that for about 15 minutes, then he said, “Feel your inner self, feel the heat that radiates from your aura, how it moves inside you and then let it surface.” As he said that, I could feel this burning sensation inside me. The thing did not hurt. It was like I could see inside my soul. It was marvelous, how it moved from one side of my body to another, and then it was like it was everywhere inside me.

“Now try to push it outwards and let it wrap around you.” As I did this, I felt the normal anger coming with it, that I usually felt when this happened. “No, don’t let it take over. Just let it sit around you. Use it to heighten your senses, listen to the unique sounds around you.” I started to concentrate, to push the anger down and to let my aura wrap around me. I then concentrated on the surrounding sounds, tilting my head slowly, trying to hear anything. Then I heard the wind outside, the birds chirping and then I heard Peter talking, giving Violet her lesson. “You doing great, Baby girl. Now try to smell the unfamiliar scents around you.” As I tried, I felt the anger rise inside me again and it was getting harder to push it down.

“Scarlet, open your eyes look at me. Scarlet, look at me!!!” With that Violet came running into the room, “Mom, are you okay?” While she said that, she touched me. “Violet, no, don’t!!!” As if I had no control over my body, I threw Violet against the far back wall. At that moment, I opened my eyes and pushed my anger down with my aura. I got up as quick as I could and was running to Violet’s side to make sure she did not get hurt. “Violet, are you hurt? I am so, so sorry, Princess. I didn’t mean to do that.”

“It’s okay mom I’m fine, no damage done, but what was that?” Looking at her confused about her question and then I looked back at Chin, as I do not know myself. I just remember my anger surfaced and as I was fighting against it, to push it down, my aura got strong and took on a flaming red light. Hearing Chin calling to me and Violet, but I could do nothing as it took over.

“You gave us a fright there, young one. We could have felt your aura in the office, and that is on the other side of the house. It has been a while since I last felt an aura that strong,” Peter said. As I look confused at Chin, he explained. “First, I want to say well done, I did not think we will get this far with your training today, it is very difficult for beginners to control their auras as you did today, but you reacted that way as you did in the end because you were not in total control of your anger. We will have to work on that. You will need to control your temper as it totally took over, and you saw what happened. Let’s take a slight break. I’m sure you would like some coffee now.” “Yes, please.”

We walked out, and I asked Violet how her classes were going and she said that it was going well and that she actually understood mathematics better now. As she said that, I could hear Peter letting out a chuckle. “Well, that is good news. I am happy to hear that.” Mathematics was always a sore point with Violet.

When we got back to training, we first started on the workout machines and then went over to hand in hand combat. As always, Chinn was true to his word and did not go easy on me.
