The Sun God Diaries
Chapter Thirty-Six: Laying Down the Law on Haters

Malachi’s POV

In the wake of my engagement to all thirteen of my mates, word spread out like wildfire.

And boy, this future Sun God Wolf King/Moon Wolf Prince was the talk of all supernatural communities and the current hot topic in all the talk shows, telemagazines, entertainment news, and even the tabloids. All of the reporters wanted to get in a good look at me and wanted to sit me down for interviews and guest-hosting duties. Sadly, I had to stay out of the limelight not just for my safety (Ryker was still out and about, unfortunately) but also for the good of the family image and to keep a leveled head.

Of course, it didn’t stop a few nasty tabloid junkies from daring to sneak in and try to make me and my family look like bad guys. One of them even went as far as to try and pose as one of the help so she can sneak in and catch me off guard while I was finishing up my midterms online. She said that it was for the good of her start-up blog as well as see if I could prove that the Sun God Wolf was a myth.

Yeah...no, bitch. Let’s just say that her start-up blog was immediately shut down and the diva herself got sent off to a prison for the worse supernatural criminals in history.

And while I was suddenly blessed with engagement gifts from various packs, covens, and other supernatural communities; it didn’t mean that I could afford to slack off in my royal lessons and homeschooling. If anything, the lessons and combat training (which was included and doubled down by Firella, Uncle Camden, and Uncle Clayton since Uncle Colin and Aunt Lailani were on a vacation) was now intensified with more classwork and tests, training sessions that lasted into the twilight hours (my brothers and fathers were no smarter than before when it comes to my stash), and I had to make more appearances in various pack and coven galleries as well as learn to be more diplomatic with various human council members.

As for my friends and mates, we were lucky to see one another since the Thanksgiving holidays were starting up and the Denver school system was gearing students down with more classwork. The moments we did have when things weren’t too hectic were always left with good food and memories as well as plans for wedding talks and mating sessions (Floriana and her mate already claimed each other on Halloween while the Joneslake cousins claimed their dragon mates the day after). With my fiances, you know that our mini-dates were supervised by my brothers or Paulo and his family and our PDAs were kept to a minimum.

And as for the rumors and other statements at Bethune Memorial High...well, let’s just say that most of the Betas (led by the haters from the Dark Spade werecat pack) and some Alphas were still ignorant and think that I was still a ratty Omega who didn’t give poor Marissa DuMartel a chance.

I had a feeling that the time was going to come when I had to settle the score with these kids and make sure to let them know who were they raining the hate on.

I had a feeling I was right. I was currently finishing up my Spanish lessons with my tutor when I saw Quentin and Nicholas come into the room, both of them not very happy. “What’s going on?” I asked.

“Malachi, you’re needed at Bethune Memorial,” Nicholas said tersely. “Those Beta werecats from Dark Spade are leading a campaign against you to be denounced as the Moon Wolf Prince and they either want you to kill yourself or reject your mates.”

My eyes widened, my female tutor giving me a confused look. “What?” I exclaimed.

Quentin nodded. “They all think that you’re being blind to the truth and are more than likely teaming up with Ryker Howell to have you mated off to him,” he replied. “Your brothers are being calmed down by their mates, but they’re itching to fight those kids. Your friends and mates, too, as are we and your other fathers and your dad.” Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I closed my eyes, silently counting backward from ten to keep myself from screaming. I left Bethune Memorial so drama won’t be an issue at school. But these people aren’t happy until I was out completely. I opened my eyes, letting myself transform into Amon-Re. “All right,” I commented. “I guess it’s no use delaying this confrontation. I need to let them know who they’re dealing with. But I don’t think that Ryker is involved. This is stemming from me rejecting the advances of DuMartel. And with their ignorance of me being the Sun God Wolf King, I’m not surprised that they’re plotting to get rid of me.”

“So what are you going to do?” Nicholas asked me.

I looked up at my hellhound and demon fathers. “I’m going to let them know that they can diss me all they want, but they can’t take away my power,” I replied. “Have Principal Andrews gather the students and teachers in the gym for an assembly. I’m going to let them all know who I am and where I stand.”

And I meant it, too.

**************

Thirty minutes later, I was walking into the school gymnasium with my parents and mates in tow as I ignored most of the blank stares and hissed whispers. Dressed in an all-black business attire and still in my human version of Amon-Re, I had to look the part of being the boss and made sure to keep my head up.

“What a loser,” I heard the low voice of a senior sneer as I passed one row of bleachers.

“Poser,” coughed another senior.

“We’ll be better off without him,” muttered a female Beta werewolf. “His family’s okay, but the Omega makes me sick.”

“Shh,” hissed a worried Alpha merman. “DuBauer’s a royal. And he’s the grandkid of the Moon Goddess herself. You diss him, you insult her.”

I ignored it all while making my way to the nearby platform where Principal Andrews was waiting for me. “Good luck, kid,” he told me quietly. “Most of these kids still have your back, but there are still haters out there.”

“I know,” I replied. “I’m going to let them all know of my legacy and show them that they can’t own me.”

The older man nodded, letting me have the floor.

I saw the leader of the hate group- a stout Beta werecat from the Dark Spade werecat pack (figures)- step forward with a nasty glare in her eyes. “Well, well,” she drawled cynically. “Looks like you’re here to finally hear me say this: We, my friends and supporters of my late female Alpha Marissa DuMartel, think that you’re a fraud and a spoiled brat, Malachi DuBauer. It’s bad enough that you rejected my late mistress’s affections and ignored your true place as a mere Omega. You’re also rejecting another Alpha that could be good for you while staking claims on thirteen guys that I personally don’t think you deserve as your mates.”

Her crowd of supporters clapped in agreement as the rest remained silent, not wanting to condemn their lives like she was.

“So, I think that it’s only fair that you not only renounce your title as the Moon Wolf Prince and live the rest of your life as a wandering rogue doomed for death, you should also reject Damien, Isaiah, Ian, Nathaniel, Ivan, Vincent, and Yavier- the Magnificent Eight Alphas from DC as well as the Sons of Enya and Olodom the son of Sorunos as they need a REAL Omega to keep them balanced,” the female Beta continued. “Save face and let the other Omegas know that their place is in the bottom as they deserved to remain at.”

“You tell him, Fern,” cheered one of her supporters. “Show that freak that he’s too big for his britches.”

I took a deep breath. “I see,” I began, keeping my voice even. “And I assume that the rest of the school agrees with you, Miss Fern? I assume that you’re speaking for all of the students and teachers at Bethune Memorial High School?”

“Of course, she is,” commented a male teacher. “Your Grace, I know that you’re the grandchild of the Moon Goddess and all, but you got to admit that you’re acting too big for your small britches. Miss Wilton thinks that you’re setting a bad example on your brothers- the ten Alphas and your younger triplet brothers. Those kids should’ve punished you with beatings and slavery to keep you in check. And as for your mates, they’re not the ones you need in life, son. They need young and attractive females like the Cunningham girl who knew that they belong to her. You’re a good-looking fellow. I won’t deny it. But you should’ve at least given some thought about Mr. Ryker Howell’s proposal for marriage or at least given dating Miss DuMartel a chance. Both of them should be the one to keep you in check with making you wait on them hand and foot.”

“And maybe if they’re courteous,” sniggered Fern, “they’ll let you bear a few young before they’re taken from you to be true Alphas and Betas. And if they’re born Omegas, then they’ll be better off as slaves, breeding stock, or even sacrifices.”

Now I was pissed. “So you’re telling me that I’m not worthy of being nothing more than some slave?” I retorted. “You mean to tell me that I’m just some runt with a royal title that was given to me out of pity? Let me ask y’all this question right here: if y’all were lucky enough to live in my shoes for even a day, would you consider understanding where I come from and all that I had to deal with? Would you even pause for a moment to understand that my story is different from everyone else’s?”

The gymnasium was silent, save for a few Omegas sobbing with their Alphas comforting them.

Fern sighed. “No,” she replied. “If anything, we would live your life by OUR expectations: no stealing the spotlight, accepting less, and being losers- something that you failed to realize is the purpose of being an Omega.”

I snorted loudly, causing some of the naysayers to growl. “So you think that you all are better than me because I’m not what you expect as an Omega?” I asked. “I mean, I was born into royalty and I have a family that loves and cares about me all because of who I was born to be, not because of what you all expect for me to be. As for my mates, it was blessed by the Moon Goddess Herself- the ancestor of my heritage as my family and I are directly descending from her with Her blood running in our veins. I have friends who accept me for who I am and I am so lucky each day that they are in my life. You know my dad’s story- how he grew up as the lone Omega in the Four Aces pack, being rejected and comatose, finding his mates, and all that. And you say that I don’t deserve to be a part of that?! Do you and your crew hate me that much to make me want to hate myself?!”

Fern grinned. “Exactly,” was all she said. “Now. Reject your mates. Leave your family. Get out of this school. Leave us all alone. Freaks. Don’t. Belong. Here. Especially you!”

Her crowd cheered as even some of the teachers joined in with the now-apparent chant. “Kick out Malachi! Kick out Malachi! Kick out Malachi! No more Moon Wolf Runts! No more Moon Wolf Runts!” they yelled.

“ENOUGH!!!!!”

The gym shook with the booming fury as all eyes were now trained to see Dad shift into his large Moon Wolf as his mates and my brothers and my mates were glaring everyone down.

“Nothing personal, Your Majesty,” Fern said flippantly. “We have no qualms with you and your other sons. We just want Malachi out of our lives.”

“WHORE!” screamed Gavin (halfway shifted into his Alpha wolf). “You insult our son, you insult us!”

A blast of lightning filled the gymnasium, Fern’s team of naysayers ducking for cover as everyone else bolted out of the gym.

I took a deep breath, ignoring the waves of a pending panic attack. “You see, Wilton,” I said to the now-spooked Beta werecat as I let my Sun-God-Wolf persona shine through, “when it comes to my family, you never want to cross them. They are very protective of me and they love me even to the ends of time and space itself. We have a bond that is so heaven-sent that you can’t even comprehend to imagine. My brothers, though different in personalities, won’t take it kindly if anything happens to me. And my mates? Well, I know I lucked out.”

“Babe,” hissed Galen as he and his brothers were in their warrior forms (dressed in the same Roman centurion uniforms as was Olodom, who had his sword at the ready as his eyes glowed in power and rage) with their snake hair hissing and snarling in rage. “Would you care to leave the room for a spell? Join your friends and let us deal with them.”

“We don’t want you to see us killing them,” Vincent growled, keeping his vampire at bay. “It’s not going to be a pretty sight.”

I smiled. “Aw, thanks, you guys,” I crooned, “but let me let Wilton know who I am first.”

“Make it quick, bro,” Abaddon replied lowly. “Az and I want to set them straight.”

I nodded, turning back to the now-fearful gang of haters. “And that’s the true meaning of family,” I replied. “I know that I can handle myself very well. It’s just that my family is very protective of me. And as annoying as it can be at times, I know that they want to protect me from people like you. I may be an Omega. But I’m lucky to have a good family and sexy mates who will treat me right in bed. Trust me when I say that you wish you can be me right now. And in case you didn’t know, I’m the fucking Sun God Wolf known as Amon-Re. Bitch, you may see me as a lowly Omega who needs to know his place. But...”

I closed my eyes to let Amon-Re in alongside my other halves so we could end this meeting.

“It’ll be a cold day in hell before you can even attempt to take away our power,” we said as one before I snapped my fingers and let thunder and lightning fill the room. “You think you can dominate us with your threats?! You think you can dictate other Omegas?! You think you’re a bad bitch?! Quit playing yourself and get over yourself, bitch!”

I took a sharp inhale of air and let myself power down to my original form. “Am I understood?” I asked.

“Yes,” Fern said shakily as she passed out cold.

I nodded, calmly walking away from the group and grabbing my coat. “I’ll see y’all later,” I replied. “Handle this for me, please.”

“Of course,” I heard Anis reply as I casually sashayed out of the gym.

That was the last thing I remembered before darkness consumed me, my body hitting the marbled floor as screams filled the air.
