The Sun God Diaries
Chapter Thirty-Seven: A Family and Goddess Scorned Gets Revenge

Third-Person POV

“Shameless!”

“Disgusting!”

“How dare you question the authority of the DuBauer Dynasty and Malachi’s self-worth?!”

Those were some of the words used as the DuBauer royal family (Malachi’s parents and brothers, Iain and Archer) and Malachi’s mates were letting the naysayers (one hundred students and fifty teachers) have it. And you can tell that all of the men were none too happy about how they all libeled and stereotyped Malachi as “a greedy and self-centered runt of the litter who needed to learn his true place in life” and how the kids wanted the poor young royal and deity-to-be out of their lives.

But they were more furious when Fern Wilton (the selfish Beta werecat from the Dark Spade pack) had questioned about Malachi being the Sun God Wolf King and wanted him to reject his mates so he could date Ryker Howell (the latest pariah of the supernatural world). And once Malachi was finished showing her and her team that he was not to be played around with, he gave his family and mates permission to tear a new one in all of them.

“I am very disappointed in what I have witnessed today,” Principal Andrews said firmly, his fury similar to the Werewolf Royal Family as he glared down at the group of naysayers. “This is not what Abby Mae Bethune Memorial High School stands for at all when it was founded. We believe in equality, respect, and showing justice with mercy- NOT placing labels or trying to cause division when it comes to being an Alpha, Beta, or Omega. I knew that most of the students and teachers here don’t agree with you all, but you have caused them so many dissensions that I think this school will need to go under diversity training.”

“Agreed,” Iain replied, narrowing his eyes at a fully-revived Fern Wilton as she looked no more repentant before Malachi tore into her. “Miss Wilton, have you no shame for what you’re doing? Are you really that spiteful because Malachi didn’t want to date your late future ruler or the fact that he rejected the Howell brothers?”

Fern looked up at the ethereal and immortal young Moon Wolf King, her eyes showing little to no remorse. “I had to set the brat straight,” she replied. “Even after he showed off his magic powers, I still think that he’s nothing more than a pathetic little brat that needed to be put out of his misery. I bet that him being the ‘Sun God Wolf King’ is nothing more than a snake-oil hoax to try and scare me and my friends.”

A few of her young friends agreed while the rest stayed silent. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“So even after Malachi shifted into Amon-Re and told you off, you still do not believe?” Anis asked angrily. “You still question the destiny that the Moon Goddess has set out before my son?”

“Why shouldn’t I?” Fern retorted. “If anything, I bet your bratty runt made some deal with some rogue witches and had some dark magic up his sleeve. Besides, what was the Moon Goddess thinking when she created Malachi’s purpose?” I bet She needed to have her head checked by the other gods and goddesses. Why on Earth did She think that Malachi could be the Sun God Wolf King, if that even exists?”

“Your question is MINE to answer, werecat!”

Bright lights illuminated the entire gymnasium, making the naysayers cover their eyes as the Moon Goddess and the other supernatural gods came into the room in their opulent and powerful forms while Thebes emerged from his signature cloud of blue smoke. And judging from the glares in their eyes, they were VERY ANGRY with the Moon Goddess holding her scepter as it formed into a lethal sword.

“Ah, Fern Wilton,” The Moon Goddess said, her glare full with the flaming heat of judgment and wrath. “You dare question my plans for My great-grandchild?”

All eyes were now focused on the Beta werecat as she still had her hardy and flippant attitude. “Look, Your Grace,” she said. “I’m not questioning anything. I’m just stating the facts. Malachi needs to get over himself and just reject his mates for the sake of finally learning his place. Regan Zallenda did the same to Carson DuBauer and he did the RIGHT thing of rejecting the loser.”

“Watch it,” Alain shouted, gripping his trident as his friends echoed his statement.

“Peace,” Seraphina ordered. To Fern, “Young lady, you have really earned the scorn of all of us here. You and your friends- those who still agree with you, that is- are in no means conditioned to judge anyone based on their status- Alpha, Beta, or Omega.”

“And for you to still claim that Malachi is unworthy of being bonded to his destined mates and to say the same thing about Carson is such a travesty that we find unforgivable,” added Iapetus, narrowing his eyes as Fern rolled hers. “Young lady, you are showing us that you care less for what it means for destiny to be written in the stars in the skies. You can’t defy fate.”

“Of course you can,” Fern replied, snorting. “Anyone can defy fate if it means causing others’ futures to change. Malachi needs to change his- reject his mates and be a rogue so that other Omegas can see that their place is in the bottom.”

“ENOUGH!” the Moon Goddess bellowed. “Fern Wilton, you have brought dishonor on the names of all Betas. You have scorned My family- My great-grandchild. And be scorning them, you insult Me. You show no sympathy on any Omega and prove that you are no better than the late Marissa DuMartel, Sarah Biggins, and even the late Ryan and Regan Zallenda. You are nothing more than the shameless cynics who dare discredit all of my creations great and small.”

Fern shrugged. “I’m just being brutally honest,” she replied, crossing my arms. “And if being brutally honest and doing what needs to be done is wrong, I don’t want to be right. I’m doing what I have to do. You think that You’re this great deity that knows what’s best for us. You don’t know jack shit!”

Gasps echoed as ALL of her supporters swiftly stepped away from her as if she was diseased.

She ignored them. “You don’t know shit, lady. You and the other gods and goddesses are all fables. I’m letting everybody know that You- the so-called great and powerful Moon Goddess and Your siblings are nothing more than idiots. You’re ALL idiots!” she shouted. “I’m not!”

The Moon Goddess hissed, snapping her fingers as thunder and lightning echoed from outside. “You have crossed the line, Fern Wilton. You question My authority, discredit My ways, scoff at My family- the DuBauers- and dare defy all that I have predestined. I have nothing but outrage and hatred for such a creature who disrespects all that I have ordained. You, Fern Wilton, will be punished severely.”

With a final snap of her fingers, Fern was instantly swallowed up into the ground, her screams silenced as the ground was covered back up.

“Now, anyone else wants to dare question the Moon Goddess?” Thebes asked the remaining group of haters.

They all shook their heads no.

“Good,” Sorunos said, smirking.

Principal Andrews stepped forward. “For your roles in discrediting Malachi DuBauer and giving him nothing but grief about his status and his mates, all of the students involved are hereby expelled from Bethune Memorial High School and the entire Denver City Schools as well as those in Colorado permanently,” he intoned. “All teachers involved are officially terminated from their jobs and will be given their severance pay. I have nothing else to say right now. I am very disappointed.”

“As you should,” Vinitra commented, nodding in assent. To the Moon Goddess, “Malachi has been taken home as he has been found unconscious, Sister. He is with his godbrother and his family as well as the Queens of the Supernatural.”

The Moon Goddess nodded. “He’ll need rest,” She told Carson and his mates. To the thirteen boys, “Go, young men, and comfort my child. He will need you all more than ever.”

“Yes, Your Grace,” Damien replied.

And as the boys left and the Moon Goddess and the other gods and goddesses took their repose, one thing was as clear as day for the remaining students and teachers of Bethune Memorial High School: if you scorn Malachi and his family and mates, you insult the Moon Goddess. And the punishment is worse than death itself.
