Chapter 79 - Searching the Planet

"Liam is looking for you," Christian told me as he set his food down at the table. I picked up my knife and fork as I began to eat. But my beast was too on edge to focus.

"He is?" I asked. Christian nodded at me. Nicolas cleared his throat.

Of course he was. I knew that. I just didn't want to sound desperate. I missed him so much, craved him. My beast was crazy just thinking about him.

"Henry went straight to Terialta as soon as he found out you'd escaped. Beckett says Henry was furious. Liam apparently was desperate to find you,” Rae explained from next to me. I bit my lip anxiously.

"No surprise there. That kid is really hooked on you,” Mason said as he placed a roasted carrot in his mouth. He chewed slowly.

"He asked me if I'd seen you or heard from you. I told him I hadn't. He's very worried about you,” Nicolas told me. I sighed out and nodded at him.

I hadn't spoken to Liam in a long time. My links with everyone were weak because of the silver that I had in my system. It made my beast weak and I could barely link with the person next to me without using up all of my energy.

I was still healing. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I needed to speak to Liam, so I could tell him I was okay. He probably thought I was hurt or something.

"I plan on calling soon. They just can't know where I am. Henry will come running once he knows. He'll definitely be suspecting that Bodie will be with me,” I said, looking to Bodie who sat next to me.

Christian sighed out. "I still can't believe he faked your death and locked you up for years."

Bodie chuckled and shrugged. "Yeah, me too."

"Liam knows that there's definitely something going on that he doesn't know about between you and Henry. He's worried you're going to get yourself kicked out the pack,” Nicolas told me. I nodded at this. I knew that Liam was worried. I just needed to talk to him and make things right. "I'll talk to him, I promise,” I said. They all nodded as we continued eating.

"You know, once you're healed, I wouldn't mind getting to beat the shit out of you," Jax said from my right. I raised my eyebrows at him

Was he still seriously going on about this?

"Pfft. Whatever," I said. Jax smirked and I knew he wouldn't let it go. He was too damn stubborn. My father always used to say that I got it from Jax.

After eating, Nicolas gave me a phone that I could call Liam on. It wasn't one that Liam would've had in his contacts, so he wasn't able to figure out where I was and who I was with.

I left the room and headed down to Nicolas's room where he said I could go to talk with Liam. I shut the door and sat on the bed as I called Liam's phone. I hoped he'd pick up.

The phone rang four times, and I was beginning to think that he wasn't going to answer. But then, miraculously, he answered the phone.

"Liam speaking,” he answered. My beast raced around my mind with excitement.

"Liam," I breathed out in relief. He didn't sound hurt, and I sure as hell was relieved about that.

"Ali? Baby is that you?" He rushed out. I smiled happily as I felt the bond between us again. Being so far away from him was hard.

"It's me," I said, lying back on the bed. I held a hand to my chest as I smiled warmly. I wanted him next to me, or even just with me. I missed him.

"Where are you? Who the hell are you with? Are you safe?" Liam asked me a series of questions. I felt terrible that I couldn't tell him where I was.

My beast whined out. I felt Liam again, I felt him pushing, his mind trying to search. He wanted to know where I was, and if I let him, I could show him my location. But I couldn't. I had to keep him safe.

"I'm safe, Liam," I told him. I avoided his other questions, and I heard his low grumble through the phone. I could feel him getting worked up again. He wasn't going to be patient anymore.

"Answer my questions, Alison," Liam said. His lips growling out my full name was a warning. He barely ever said my full name. He liked the nicknames. I knew he was being serious.

I choked on my words. I couldn't speak. It hurt to have to lie to him. I didn't want to lie. I wanted him to be with me just as much as he wanted to be with me.

But I couldn't just let him find me. Henry would know exactly what was going on. He'd come and get me. Who in the hell knew what Henry would do to me?

"L-Liam, I can't tell you where I am," I stuttered out. I sounded like a pathetic baby. I just needed to be stern with Liam. I had to tell him that he wasn't allowed to see me.

"Alison Grey. Don't do this. Tell me where you are, or I'll spend every minute of every day trying to find you. I won't stop until I have you in my arms again,” Liam growled out. I knew he wanted to see me. That was all he wanted.

But I knew he'd be mad at me for not telling him where I was. When I next saw him, I already knew he'd probably scold me. I was prepared for it.

"I can't. Not now, Liam. It's not safe,” I said. I heard him growl again. I sighed softly and clutched at my chest. I wanted to tell him so badly.

"It's not like I don't want to tell you. I just can't. Not yet. We have to wait a little longer,” I told him softly. the growling and grumbling stopped. I pretended that Liam was finally understanding what I was saying.

There was silence on the phone, but I knew he was still there. I wanted to talk to him in person, I wanted to tell him that I loved him and I wanted to feel his skin on mine.

As pathetic as it sounded, I craved every inch of him.

"I just want to be with you, Ali," Liam told me followed by a sigh. I shut my eyes, trying to think of what he'd be doing.

I imagined him sitting on his bed with his head in his hands. I imagined him wearing sweatpants and a dirty shirt. I thought of his messy bed hair and I smiled weakly as my heart thudded in my chest.

"Me too," I whispered softly. I heard his sigh again.

"Veronica is getting restless, Ali. I think she wants me to mark her," Liam said out quickly. I raised my eyebrows at this and I quickly sat up.

What?

If she went anywhere near his damn neck, I'd kill her myself. I didn't care what had been happening with Liam, and how he had to pretend to love her. He would not mark her. Ever.

"If that thing goes anywhere near what's mine, I'll rip her fangs out,” I growled out to him. I heard a grunt over the line.

"She's very persistent. I've been trying to avoid her but I don't know how much longer I can get away with it for. She thinks I love her. It would be strange if I refused to mark her. She'd go straight to Henry," Liam said, sounding stressed. I stood and I began to pace

"You stay the hell away from her. I don't want that bitch going anywhere near you anymore. You tell Lucas and Leon that if they see her going near you, that they can kill her,” I hissed out angrily. My blood was heating up.

Liam would not have any mark on his neck except mine. My life would not be worth living if I didn't have Liam in it.

He completed me. He made me feel whole. He was the piece of me that I had been missing all my life. If I didn’t have him, I'd have nothing.

"I won't let her near my neck, I promise. But you need to come home. We can fix all of this," Liam told me. I stopped pacing and walked over to the wall. I banged my head on the wall softly.

"Liam," I warned him. He knew I couldn't go. I couldn't.

"Soon, baby. Soon," I said. He sighed.

"Fine. But you aren't allowed to ignore me. You must talk to me at least once every day," Liam told me sternly. I knew it was his way of saying that I was getting off easy.

"I have to go Liam. I love you. I'll talk later,” I told him. I didn't wait to listen to his reply, I hung up straight away. I sighed deeply and banged my head on the wall again.

It was hard enough to only talk to him on the phone. I couldn't get attached while he wasn't around. I would cave in and tell him where I was.

Damnit.

There was a knock on the door. I looked up to see Bodie open the door. He peered in and smiled at me.

"How'd it go?" He asked me. Bodie's small smile somehow made me feel a little better. He was a good wolf. He was nothing like the rest of his family.

"He's not happy with me. And your sister is trying to seduce him," I said. Bodie rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"Liam is a hot head, he'll get over it. Veronica is just crazy. Liam is loyal. I wouldn't worry," Bodie assured me. I smiled and nodded at him slowly. He pushed open the door and motioned for me to follow him.

We walked down the hallway again and back to the table. I sat down and handed the phone to Nicolas. I thanked him and continued eating my food.

"How's our new brother?" Rae asked me. I sighed and shook my head.

"Not well. He's pissed that I won't tell him where I am or who I'm with," I replied quickly. I didn't want to talk anymore about Veronica trying to mark him. It just made me angry.

"Sounds like Liam. He always had an incredibly short temper,” Christian said with a light chuckle. Jax snorted.

"He has a soft spot for Ali, if you hadn't noticed. Turns into a puddle,” Jax said, partly joking. He wasn't wrong.

Liam had a soft spot for me. For sure. I had one for him too. I was often the only one who could make him smile, the only one who could bring him out of a bad mood. He wasn't the type of guy to be in touch with his emotions a lot, but when it came to me, he was always different.

"I have that effect on people,” I said cockily. Nicolas snorted and gave me a playful smile. I rolled my eyes back.

"Eat up, child. You're weak," Blu scolded me, tapping my plate with her fork. I nodded at her and quickly shovelled food into my mouth.

I was still healing. I was almost back to full strength. Nicolas said that when I was healed again, he'd train with me. He told me that I needed work, and Christian said I needed a beating. I assumed I was going to be his little punching bag since Lucas wasn't around.

I was excited.

"Mason is having a family dinner tonight at his house. You're all coming. The whole family will be there, and they'll all be surprised to see you back again,” Hannah announced. She looked up from her plate and at me. The children were all out for the day.

Nicolas thought it would be best to keep my arrival quiet for a few days until Henry thought that I wasn't hiding out with Liam's family. The coast seemed clear, so I guessed it was time to see the family again. I had missed them. Especially the kids.

"Sounds fun. Haven't seen all the kids in a while," I said excitedly. I looked to my brothers who were already looking at me.

"There's so many of them. You'll love the little ones," I told them. They both smiled and nodded. My brothers all loved children. We were a family that loved kids.

I couldn't wait for Becket and Lauri to have kids. I would be an aunt. How adorable.

"Can't wait," Rae said with a nod. I chuckled to myself a little as we all continued to eat.
