The Transfer
Chapter 80 - Wake Up

"Are you sure you're ready to start training again?" Gwendoline asked me as we walked. I nodded at her and stretched my arms. We made our way around the back of the house and walked along the trail towards where Nicolas said he'd meet me.

We'd gone on a run, the both of us deciding that we needed some exercise. Sitting around doing nothing was more than boring. Plus, I felt lazy. I liked being out and about, doing things and running around.

It kept me busy and on my feet.

It stopped my from thinking about Liam for just a little bit.

"I'm sure. I feel fine, Gwen," I told her. She offered me a smile and we continued walking. We eventually found where everyone was, my brothers and Bodie included. Christian and Nicolas were stretching by some sparring rings that were marked out in the dirt.

Others from the pack were buzzing around, running around to do their training and complete their daily duties. It was a nice day and I didn't think that anyone would stay inside.

"Morning girls," Nicolas greeted us both. I smiled at him and tied my hair up into a ponytail. "Ready to get your ass kicked?" Jax said with an eager smile. I scoffed at him and rolled my eyes. "Whatever, Jax," I said. He just laughed and playfully shoved my arm. Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNovᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"You can work with me first. I don't want to push you too far, especially since you've just recovered from numerous injuries," Nicolas said. I nodded at him and stretched my arms above my head again.

My beast was itching to be let out. She was tired of being cooped up. She needed a stretch. I couldn't have agreed more.

Christian walked over to Bodie, who was standing with Gwendoline in another sparring ring. I knew that Bodie needed to be trained again also. After being locked up for so many years, he was a little rusty.

I looked back to Nicolas just in time to dodge the punch he was throwing at my head. I jumped back and fell straight on my ass. Jax and Rae laughed hard from outside the ring. I shot them both warning looks.

I got up quickly and wiped the dirt off my clothes. I watched Nicolas carefully and we began to stalk each other. We walked around the ring slowly.

My beast was getting more and more eager to be let out. She wanted to fight. She wanted to release some stress and some anger. The two of us were more than excited to finally get back to doing what we loved.

"Stand up straight. Your posture is sloppy,” Nicolas ordered me as he came at me again. He swung hard and fast. His fist hit me in the jaw, and I felt my entire body fly to the side.

I stumbled, holding my hand to my jaw as I did so. I managed to keep myself from falling, and when I looked back to Nicolas to fight back, he'd already moved too fast for me to react to.

He nailed me hard in the shoulder, and then again in the stomach. I doubled over in pain and grunted as Nicolas kicked my feet out from underneath me. I went down, landing with a thud in the dirt.

Damnit.

Jax was laughing so hard from outside the ring that Rae was patting his back as he coughed. I rolled my eyes and looked to Nicolas.

"Focus, Alison! You're distracted!" Nicolas demanded. I looked back to him and yelped as I narrowly avoided his boot to my face. I rolled to the side and he stomped down on the dirt.

I pushed myself to my feet and jumped away from him to avoid his fist again. He missed me and I lunged at him. Nicolas blocked my first blow, and then I nailed him in the kidney.

He didn't look at all surprised or stunned. I hadn't hit a weak spot. I had to try harder.

I knew what he was doing. But I didn't like it. He knew I was rusty and he knew that I needed to be pushed to be better. But hell, my beast hates being pushed around.

Nicolas punched me in the sternum and then shoved me, and I landed on the dirt again. I gasped for air, slightly winded from his blow. I hated that I was losing so badly. I looked like an idiot.

"Are you going to fight me or should I get a chair to sit on?" Nicolas taunted me. I growled and got up.

We stalked around the ring again. My beast wanted to come out to play. But I wasn't sure she was allowed anymore. I was fighting terribly. I didn't want to make a giant fool of myself.

I lunged at Nicolas first. I hit him in the nose and he retaliated with a blow to the ribs and then the stomach. I stumbled backwards, and Nicolas came at me.

He swung at my cheek. I ducked and dodged his hit. He threw a fake and I fell for it like an idiot. I smacked right into his other fist, my nose instantly aching.

I felt the blood begin to trickle down my nose. I wiped my face with the back of my hand and huffed.

"You're sloppy," Nicolas told me. He swung again, and I dodged his blow. "You've gone soft.”

I growled lowly. He didn't care. Nicolas kicked out my leg from underneath me and then punched me in the shoulder and I fell down yet again. I huffed out in frustration.

Nicolas turned and walked out the ring. He walked over to Rae and Jax. Nicolas was clearly linking with them, because they both nodded without Nicolas even speaking. I got up and wiped the dust off my clothes before I wiped my nose again.

"You're getting your butt kicked out there, kiddo," Mason said to me as he walked to the edge of the ring. I huffed out angrily and nodded.

"I know. I don't know what's wrong with me,” I grumbled angrily. Had I actually gone soft?

"You gotta get angry. You have to unleash your beast,” Mason told me. I nodded and wiped my nose again. "Trust your beast. She's there for a reason.”

I nodded again at him as Nicolas parted from my brothers and stepped outside the ring. Both Rae and Jax entered the ring.

"Arms up. Let's go,” Rae told me. I frowned at him and looked to Nicolas, who wore a shit-eating grin on his face. I wanted to hit him.

"Both of you?" I questioned dreadfully. Jax chuckled and nodded as he put up has arms and balled his fists. Rae did the same, and I copied.

We circled each other. Rae came at me first. He hit me in the nose and then knocked me to the dirt. I huffed out angrily. These guys liked making me eat dirt.

"Come on. You're fighting like a baby," Jax taunted me. He came at me while I was on the ground, his knee connecting straight with my jaw. I winced as I fell back down again.

I tasted the blood and spat on the dirt. I growled as I got up. Why were they both ganging up on me? Didn't they knew what I'd been through? I was trying.

"You've lost your spark again. You're weak, tired. You're soft," Jax said. He swung at me. I dodged his punch, but Rae hit me as I dodged away. My cheek throbbed painfully as I stumbled over. Rae grabbed me by the shoulders and sent his knee into my stomach.

I grunted as I fell back onto the dirt. I spat the blood from my mouth and wiped my face.

"Is that all you've got? I thought you were an Alpha. An Alpha female!" Rae asked me. I narrowed my eyes at him. I knew what they were both doing. They were trying to make me angry.

"You've got to wake up, kiddo. This world is a real mean place. You're going to have to bring out your big girl claws every now and then," Jax told me. I got up and lunged for Jax. Rae got his arm around my waist before I could even touch Jax. He threw me back, and I landed hard on the dirt again. I stopped myself from tumbling and contemplated getting up at all.

I huffed out as my head began to ache. I stared up at the clouds for a moment longer, feeling lightheaded and dizzy.

"Get up! Get up! Stop acting like the world around you isn't falling apart! There's shit going down and you're letting it happen,” Rae shouted at me. He went to stomp down on my face, and I rolled out the way. But I rolled straight to Jax.

He kicked me in the side and I winced. I scrambled to my feet and limped to the other side of the ring. They both turned to look at me. Nicolas and Mason were still watching from outside the ring. They looked amused. They stood with their arms crossed and small smirks on their faces. They both had planned this. Clearly.

I painted for air. I was hurting again. I was getting sloppy.

"You've let some bitch take your mate from you," Jax said. I looked to him and I growled, flashing him my teeth. He wasn't allowed to talk about that.

"You've let your pack turn against you," Rae said. I looked to him, growling too. The two slowly closed in on me.

"You let your pathetic excuse of an Alpha control your happiness,” Jax continued. They were listing all the things that I was doing wrong. I understood what they were getting at.

I wanted to hurt both of them.

Jax swung at me. He missed as I ducked back. I avoided Rae's fist narrowly.

"What kind of Alpha are you? You're weak. You're a push over," Rae hissed out. He gave me a look that made my skin crawl. He looked down at me.

“I'm not weak," I hissed back. Rae laughed at my comment.

"What do you think everyone would think of you if they saw you now? What about Ezra? Lila? Liam?" Jax asked me. I growled at him. I didn't want to talk anymore. I just wanted to fight.

"Stop it!" I yelled at them both. They continued to close in on me. They were going to beat my ass so bad. I already knew it. I was sure I deserved an ass beating.

"What will you do if we don't? Cry? Call for Liam to fix everything?" Rae asked me. He cocked his head at me questioningly. I growled again. He was crossing the line quickly.

"Shut up!" I scolded. Jax and Rae both laughed. They made my head hurt.

Rae threw a punch. He hit me in the stomach and then Jax got me in the cheek. I grunted as I stumbled to the side. Jax pushed me back up.

Rae punched me in the lip. I tasted more blood as I went down. I thudded on the dirt hard and felt my brain rattle around in my skull.

"Mum and Dad would be disappointed. They never raised us to be weak. They didn't raise pushovers. They raised warriors," Rae told me. I looked up at him, at Jax too. They both stared down at me with concerned eyes.

I knew what they were doing. They were trying to beat some sense into me. They were trying to make me realise that I was stronger than I thought.

I had gone soft. Hell, I was like a damn pillow. I'd gone soft and it was time to change that.

I felt something click inside me and felt my mind switch. It was like an on and off button. I was off, and then I was on.

The boys were right. My parents would have been disappointed in me. I did need to realise that things were tough. I needed to grow a pair and do something for myself.

My beast growled loudly. Her growl shook my insides and I felt my own rumble vibrate through my body and the ground. Jax smirked and Rae looked impressed.

I pushed myself up. I got to my feet fast. I cleaned the dirt from my hands. Then, I wiped the blood from my mouth, stood taller. I stood prouder, I stood more confident. And then, I lifted my arms, curling my fists into balls.

Finally, I motioned for my brothers to come at me again.
