The two mermaids stared at each other, looking nervous, as if afraid of saying the wrong thing. I looked between the two and back at the dragon.

“I asked you a question, and I need an answer, who is responsible for this war?” He asked. Arista swam forward a little. “I am Arista and I speak for the Shadow Coven, Violet of the Moonlight Coven, has started the attacks.” She said. The dragon looked from Arista to Violet,

“Is this true?” He asked. Violet slowly backed up, “Yes, I launched the first attack.” She said. “Why?” He asked. “I was looking for the thing she stole from me.” “And that would that be?” The dragon asked. “I was looking for you. You belong to me.” She said. The dragon laughed and unwrapped itself from me, it swam up to Violet.

“I do not belong to you, the who awakens me, decides my fate.” He said. The one who awakens him...? That would mean, me. He swam back over to me, “What do you decide my child?” He asked. I looked at Arista and smiled, “I would like it very much, if you stayed here to help the Shadow Coven.” I said. The dragon nodded, “As you wish my child, for here until the end of time, I will be the guardian of and protector of the Shadow Coven. As the request of my dear child.” He circled around me and a fast pace, making my hair fly every where. I laughed as he made everything go back to motion. The mermaids looked at the great dragon,

“As of today, this war is over, those of the Moonlight Coven, return home, and never come back or you will face the consequences.” He bellowed. The terrified mermaids quickly swam back home. I swam up to the dragon, I smiled at him,

“Thank you.” I said. He wrapped himself around me, hugging me. “It is no problem at all my dear. Come to visit soon.” He said. I nodded. “Of course. Speaking of which, I guess we’d better get home.” I started to swim away. I swam into Arista’s cave, where Abby and Jake were waiting. They smiled when they saw me and they both swam up to me and hugged me. Abby pulled away,

“You do know that you still have your legs right?” She asked. I looked down and noticed she was right, “Oh yeah, oops.” I laughed and shifted so I had my tail again. Arista swam inside and hugged me tight,

“Thank you so much for your help. Now the Moonlight Coven won’t bother us again.” I smiled. “I’m happy I was able to help, but now, it is time for us to go back to the castle.” I said. Arista nodded and led us out of the cave. We swam all the surface and popped our heads out of the water.

“Goodbye Arista, I’ll come visit you soon.” I said. We hugged and and swam back into the water. I placed my hands on the shore and hoisted myself back onto the earth. Abby and Jake did the same. When we were on land, I shifted so I had my legs again. Abby and Jake took off their necklaces and handed them to me. Once they took them off they had their legs again. I looked around and finally remembered what I forgot.

“Oops.” I said. “Oops? What oops?” Abby asked. “Well, I may have forgotten the bag in Arista’s cave.” I said. Jake laughed. “Oh well, we can change when we get back.” He said. We stood from the ground and began to walk back to the car. When we reached the car, the driver nodded and we got inside. Good thing I left the towels in the car. I started to dry my hair and when we made it home, I got out of the car and wrapped the towel around my body.

We walked into the castle and I walked to my room and over to the closet. I grabbed a pair of stripped pajama pants, and a matching tank top. I changed into them and laid on the bed. Ethan was probably still helping his father with Zach’s choosing. I stared up at the ceiling and just thought about everything that happened these past few months.

I found my mate, he’s the prince of Engor. I may not have wanted him to mate on me, but now that he did, I wouldn’t let him go for anything. I mean, I love him. I sat up from the bed and smiled. I love him, I really do. I don’t know why saying that was such a shock to me, but it was. When the bedroom door opened and Ethan walked in, I bolted up from the bed, and ran over to him hugging him tight. He stood there shocked for a second, but then he hugged me back.

“What’s this about? Are you okay?” He asked. “I just realized something.” I looked up at him. “And what’s that?” He asked. “I love you.” I whispered. He smiled widely and bent down to kiss me. He lifted me up and spun me around the room. I giggled and we collapsed on the bed on our sides. We laid there smiling at each other. He leaned over and kissed my nose.

“I love you.” He kissed my forehead. “I loved you.” He kissed my left cheek. “I love you.” He kissed my right cheek. “I love you.” His lips just hovered over mine. He leaned in a little closer and whispered one more time. “I love you.” He leaned in and softly pressed his lips against mine. When we pulled apart I smiled at him. I rolled onto my back and let my legs dangle over the side of the bed. I loved this feeling, feeling like, nothing could take this away from me. I felt Ethan roll over and soon instead of looking at the ceiling, I was looking at Ethan. He was hovering above me, his hands on either side of my head.

“Are you coming to dinner?” He asked. I lifted my arms and wrapped my arms around his neck. “Hmm I don’t know, I think it would be better if we just stayed here.” I said. He kissed me lightly. “I liked that idea, I’ll have someone bring us something to eat.” He kissed me again before standing up. He walked out of the room and talked to the guard, when he came back in, he walked over to the closet and grabbed some pajamas. He walked into the bathroom to change. I moved on the bed so I had my back pressed against the wall. When he walked back into the room, he had on plaid pajama pants and had on no shirt. He laid on his side and looked at me.

“What are you doing?” I asked. He smiled. “Admiring you.” He said. I blushed slightly and hid my face behind my hands. I felt him gently take my wrists and moved them away from my face, “My beautiful Papillon don’t hide.” He kissed my nose gently. I smiled softly. “So, how was choosing girls for Zach’s choosing?” I asked. “It went well, we found some very interesting girls, their invitations will be sent out soon, we still haven’t picked a date for them to arrive.” He said. I nodded in understanding. There was a soft knock on the door and two maids walked in.

“Excuse me your highness, we’ve brought you yours and Miss.Snow’s dinner.” The younger one said. Ethan nodded and stood up He grabbed the trays and set them on the bed. I sat up and examined what they brought. I smiled, Ethan had his normal elegant dinner, but I had chicken strips and french fries. Ethan set a glass of was looked like lemonade on the bedside table. I smiled up at him,

“How did you know that this was my favorite thing to eat?” I asked. “Abby.” He said. I smiled and he sat down. “I knew you’ve never been a big fan of all this elegant and proper food, so I had the chefs prepare this for you.” He said. I smiled and kissed his cheek. I grabbed a french fry and popped it into my mouth.

“Have you ever had a french fry?” I asked. He shook his head. I fake gasped and placed my hand on my chest. “No way, you’re not getting away with that.” I took a fry and handed it to him. He took it from me and ate it. “Hmm not bad.” He said. I laughed and ripped apart one of the chicken strips. I took a bite of it, I reached over and grabbed the lemonade off the table. I took a drink of it and set it on the tray. When we finished eating Ethan set the trays beside the bed. He moved to the center of the bed and pulled me between his legs and I rested against his chest.

“Just encase you didn’t know, I love you.” I said. I felt his chest rumble as he chuckled. “I love you more Papillon.” I looked up at him and he kissed my forehead. Now I’ll be honest, I was never one who was all lovey dovey. But when I was with Ethan, I just couldn’t help it. Usually when you have a crush or loved someone, they made you feel all giddy on the inside. But when I was with Ethan, I didn’t feel that way at all, I felt safe, I felt like I could be myself around him, and he still loves me.

I turned around and wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. I stared into his gold eyes, they looked kind, and curious. I bent down his kissed his nose. He chuckled and kissed me. I ran my hands through his hair as we kissed, he ran his hands up my arms and cupped my cheeks. I loved this feeling of passion. I felt as he placed his hands just under my butt and lifted me up slightly. He moved and set me on my back on the bed. He pulled away and looked into my eyes,

“I love you so much.” He whispered. I smiled up at him, “I love you more.” He bent down and kissed me again. I spent that night with the love of my life, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

When I awoke the next morning, I looked up at Ethan, he was already awake and was smiling at me. I groaned and stretched.

“Good morning Papillon.” I smiled. “And a good morning to you.” I started to play with Ethan’s hand, remembering the events of last night. I smiled. I loved him so much. “So what’s the agenda today?” I asked. “Well, my father and I have a meeting with the vampire coven today. What about you?” He said. “Hmm interesting. I’ll probably spend the day with Abby and Jake.” I said. He smiled and nodded. He kissed my nose.

“Well, I’d better get dresses he said.” I groaned and wrapped my arms around his waist. “No, stay.” I said. “If only I could, but I really have to get dressed.” He said. I leaned forward and kissed him softly. I didn’t want him to leave, but I knew he had to. After we kissed I rolled onto my back as he got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I sighed happily, I have to say, that last night was the best night of my life. I’m so happy I have Ethan in my life. I love my prince, and I’m happy to know that I’ll always be his princess. I’m happy to know, that even if everyone were to leave me. I’d always have Ethan by my side no matter what were to happen.
