Chapter 6: New Life
After we arrived from the palace, Froilan took us to our rooms. I’m so amazed when I enter to the room, it is twice wider in our house. Only the bed, dresser, study table, chair occupied the space and a book shelf full of books. I walked towards the book shelf and grab a book. Then, an open window catches my attention. I sneak out and saw the green tall trees around the palace and in a far is a mountain. I can’t believe it, this place is truly amazing. I never saw this beautiful place in my entire life, maybe it’s because the palace is sorrounded by a steel gate and it was prohibited to come along. Only the soldier’s and people from the palace can walk in.
Amber was right. I am lucky to be chosen. But, in the other hand my mind says; I’m not prepared with this competition. I’m not ready to marry the prince ,incase I win. Even his a prince, I still believe in true love. I breathe deeply and smell the fresh air coming. It gently touches my skin and blown my hair. Then, someone knock on my door. I opened it and saw an old lady standing in front of me.
“Your highness”, she said then bow.
“Oh, no. no. please call me Chloe. I’m not supposed to called by that, im not a princess. ” I replied,
“If that what you want. You’re very humble lady Chloe, I’m looking forward to see you around after the competition. Just call me Aunt Elisa. ” she said and smiled.
“Thank you Aunt Elisa.” I said.
“By the way, im her to tell you to prepare, after 10 minutes you all ladies will joined the royal family for dinner. King William wanted to see you all. I’ll wait for you here so I could go with you. ”
“Okey. I’ll change my dress.” I said then find a dress from my bag. Then I saw the closet so I tried to opened it and I was surprise. There’s a lot of dress inside of it. “Wow”. I was wondering what’s my face looked like with my expression. Its my first time to see a dress like this, only the royals wear this and as far as I know the price is very expensive.
Then I saw Aunt Elisa from the door, “Don’t hesitate to wear that Lady Chloe, it’s all for you.” she said assuring me that I can wear this beautiful dresses.
“R-really? I asked her again.
“Yes, you can. Everything inside this room. So, just pick out a dress now and hurry.” she said while smiling.
After a few minutes, I’m all dressed. I stood in front of the mirror and found my own reflection. I secretly smiled, if Amber saw me with this dress I’m sure she will like this.
“Your very beautiful. ” Aunt Elisa said, I fixed my self and started to walked towards her. Let’s go.” she added.
“Yeah!!! I replied.
While walking, I can’t stop my eyes from routing around. There are lot of doors from this corrigidor, maybe other ladies from the competition occupying that rooms just like me.
“Lady Chloe, we are here now.” she said and looked at me. I have to go, just join the other girls there.” she added. Then started to walked away.
“Chloe....come here!” Faye called my name, so I walked towards her direction.
“You looked elligant huh!?” she said and smiled.
“You too.” I replied.
“Are you excited to join the royals for this first dinner?” she excitedly asked me.
“Yes. I am. ” I said, I’m not interested to the competition but it’s a privilege to have a dinner with them.” I added. Then I looked to the other ladies, they are all elligant with there dress. Except the three girls talking from the other side of the table. They looked more elligant. I remembered that girl wearing a red dress, its Freda Grey the first one been called awhile ago.
“H-hi...” a girl standing in front of me. Can I seat beside you? she asked me.
“Yeah! Of course. The seat is for everyone. ” I replied,
“Thank you! she smiled and seat from the vacant chair next to me and Faye. “By the way, I’m Gaile Freeman.” she said and lean on her hand to me.
" I’m Chloe Margarette Hamilton” I introduced my self.
“Oh! The Fifteenth girl. Nice to meet you Chloe.” she said and we shake our hands. By the way this is Faye Hinson my friend.”
“Nice to meet you Faye.”
“You too.”
After a few minutes, we all stand when we saw King William, Prince Dale and Princess Kaitlyn. We bow as a respect to them.
“Good evening ladies...” King William said,
“Good evening your highness.” we replied chorusly.
“Take a seat ladies.” he said,
I can’t keep my self from starring to Princess Kaitlyn. She’s very beautiful and Prince Dale is so handsome. They really looked good together. A perfect pair.
I took back my eyes from starring when Prince Dale looked at my direction. I was so embarrassed when he smiled at me.
“Enjoy the meal ladies! Tomorrow your training will start.” King William said, then we started to eat. The food is really good and tasted to delicious. Its not just an ordinary food. It’s a food for the royals.
The whole dinner goes fine. We enjoyed the night so much. Talking and laughing with the King, the Prince and the Princess is the most rewarding part of the night. It feels like that we already win the competition.
