“…” Clara opened her mouth but found herself at a loss for words..
His words made a strange amount of sense!
“Clara, I’m smarter than you give me credit for.”
“Mhmm.”
“But I won’t force you! I’m just expressing my opinion.” He said, but his hand was already sneaking its way under Clara’s clothes.
Before she could react, his lips were already on hers.
“Hey! Emmett… This is an office! Ricardo might walk in!”
“Click…”
The next second, Emmett locked the office door.
“Now he won’t walk in.”
“…But it’s daylight. We’re in the office…”
Before Clara could finish, Emmett had already made his move.
She let out a scream, pounding on his chest.
Was this his real motive? They were just having a normal conversation; how did things take such a sudden turn?!
After a scorching battle, Clara could barely stand.
Emmett, however, was fresh as a daisy, tidying up his clothes. “Tired? Why don’t you take a break? I’ll have Ricardo cover for you today. Say you’re feeling unwell and need to see a doctor.”
“No way!” Clara’s cheeks were still flushed, “You’ve been in my office for over an hour; if I leave after you do, even Ricardo will know what’s up!”
Emmett smiled, “What’s there to fear? He already knows about us.”
“…No!” Clara blushed even harder, “…I’m not leaving!”
“And you think Ricardo wouldn’t suspect something seeing you like this?”
Emmett reached out and tousled her hair, “What’s there to be embarrassed about? You’re my wife.”
“That’s not the point, and I’d rather stay in the office all afternoon than leave.” Clara retorted, glaring at Emmett/
He didn’t seem to care, leaving her to clean up the mess.
“Do you want me to tell Ricardo not to come to your office this afternoon?”
“No need!” Clara glared at him, “Don’t say anything. Just get back to your own office!”
Emmett laughed, “All right, I’ll meet you in the underground garage tonight.”
He reached the door, then suddenly turned back, “I might have gotten too excited earlier and worn you out; if you feel unwell, let me know! I’ll have a doctor check on you.”
“…Oh, just go!” She would’ve kicked him out if her legs weren’t so weak.
His hearty laughter echoed in her ears, and she wished she could sew his mouth shut.
Clara lightly patted her leg, wincing, “I can’t handle it! Just because last night wasn’t enough doesn’t mean you need to chase me to the office today!”
Before she could finish her sentence, there was a knock on the door.
Clara jumped, startled, Who is it?”
“It’s me!” Ricardo laughed from outside, “Mr. Melendez sent me to ask what you want to eat.”
He strolled in casually, then looked at Clara, asking without thinking, “What’s wrong with your face? It’s so red. Are you running a fever?”
