Unknown Magic (3)
Chapter 6

The sun would soon rise but he still had plenty time to set up his next master piece. This one he hopes would send another beautiful message since the last one was figured out quickly.

The wind blew powerfully through the columns creating the clouds to move faster making it seem in then the room was foggy. It created a special effect that intrigued him for a moment but refused to be caught up in a trance as there still work to be done.

He looked to the two marble chairs and smiled as his eyes landed on a slumped figure sitting. Desperately trying to get up but couldn’t because they were in too much pain. He watched the figure for only a moment till he got bored of seeing them keep repeating the struggle.

He stalked towards the figure and saw the closely that the blood on their forehead was now drying. The figure looked up at him crying.

“Why?...Why?” were the only words they could speak.

HE gazed down at the figure as they still tried gasping for breath. Then slowly revealed the feared blade for any Immortals. The figure saw this and weak eyes tried to connect the brain but he kept the figure there with a quick silent spell and soon plunged the sword into the figure’s chest. A loud but muffled screamed escaped the figure lips telling him that the pain was all the figure could feel and now they slumped down like a lifeless body.

He smiled. Work was actually being done. He quickly analyzed the dead figure as their eyes were open staring down at the marble floor below. He retracted the blade and cleaned it, then returned it to the sheath.

“Now the final touches.”

HE slumped the head up making it was supported by the backing of the chair and placed a woven crown of sticks onto the figures head. Allowing it to already begin soaking the blood from the head.

He took a step back again admiring his handiwork.

“Hope you take these clues, if not I would be disappointed”

Now the bright red and pink creeped over the ragged rocks to welcome a new day.

Asema

The Lycan couple came then left now leaving us to our original pack again and time for me to start brainstorming the murdered body, why and who. Except I was tuck on the why which I thought would soon lead me to the who. Only that was two weeks ago and since I was now on occasional meets with Captain Thuse, he wasn’t helping much of the investigation. Only things we have come to conclusion is that this person is somehow close to me yet I don’t know them.

Wolf found me in the front living room as my brain was going to multiple speeds as I analyzed every inch of the note to staring at the photo that stuck out like a hologram.

“Hey” Wolf voice was soft.

I turned to him and smiled but soon brought my attention back to the two items as I didn’t sense him come sit down by me.

“What have you to terms with?” A simple question yet had so much meaning.

I stared down at the objects, leaned forward resting my elbow on my knee to support my chin on my fist. The light made the room so much brighter as the light streamed through the trees. Our windows were big enough to make you feel outside yet small enough to keep you warm during those fun winters we endured. Yet with everything trying to feel cheery I felt such dread knowing something bad would happen.

“Well,” I spoke after a long moment and point at the note, “The most obvious is the killer knows me… I don’t know how since no one we know would kill someone, then make it a sick joke.”

Wolf leaned back dipping the couch a bit more rising me up only a little.

“What else?” he asked, knowing if I talk it out maybe I might find something I missed.

I breathed a breath and shifted my gaze to the photo hologram. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Well first thing I noticed when I saw the body was she was strung up like a puppet, more specifically a marionette puppet…almost as if saying I want to play, manipulate your moves.”

Wolf joined in leaned closer to the items, “So why would he or they want to manipulate this person?... I am assuming the sunroof was a spotlight?”

I shrugged, “I don’t know” then turned to him, “Spotlight? Never truly connected that” I smirked a little.

Wolf smirked back, “Victim?”

This time I felt heavy in my shoulders as sadness began to fill me, “Nova Equitem Draco, from a powerful family, and fifth in line for the throne well technically fourth now…” I cricked my eyebrows together, “but why her? Like was she actually targeted.”

I shifted my sitting position making the couch sound a bit, “Maybe someone is out to get her? But yet the person would be connected to me…and we both know Emily would never hurt her family.

“Her dragons other might” Wolf joked a bit. I only gave him a nudge.

“Not helping.”

Wolf stood and made his to the windows leaning on the wall next to them, “What does Captain Thuse have to say about all this?”

I gathered the two items placing them in a bag that they were put in for me and stood. “He is coming to a the same conclusion but that’s what we are both figuring out. HE still questioned the Equitem Draco family.”

Wolf acknowledge the bag and began to follow me to the door as I slipped on some combat boots.

“going to meet up with Madam?” he as confirming.

I nodded and hung the bag onto my shoulder, “Yup, get some answer with my visions, and might as well am errands into one.” I looked at the door then back at Wolf. I closed the space between us kissing him softly then broke away. “Besides” I lingered my hand into his, “the children are at school and you have now alpha duties to attend.”

He squeezed my hand and smiled. “ I know, just hate that this is stressing you out.”

I gave him a squeeze, “Hey I will be back before you know it.” And let go of his hand making my way to the portable in the trees.

Thickness in the air was telling me fall was months away another dying age to be reborn soon. I trekked through the trees taking in all the green I could as seen nature would not be visible for me to enjoy. Soon I came to the portable section and stopped reached out to touch some force preventing me to move invisible wall.

“I, Asema request access.” I murmured the words and soon felt the wall give away and I pushed forward being enveloped into nothing but welcomed by brightness of the sun. As tall silver buildings reflected the sunny blue sky. I took a moment and observed the silver city below from the tower portable.

The city its own working machine with silver rectangles soaring through the air and buildings that all looked silver made from glass when you go deeper you see multiple worlds merged into one. The city always takes my breath away when I glanced down at it.

I stood away and went forward with my mission.

The streets down below were busy as usual with multiple bodies bustling around one another, getting steady traffic flow. Not much has changed just people are different everyday in their city particular. So there is not much else. I didn’t take a shuttle rather I just walked, well walked with speed to Madam residence since Sky High was on holiday break. So now was staying here for a few days.

I came onto a street that occasionally blasted me with ocean salty wind telling me that south Harbour would be close by and with a few more paces I was standing before a beige brownstone type of home.

I marched up onto the stairs, knocked already hearing the echoes in the house and opened the door to the familiar foyer that always greeted me as if I should live here. Entering in, already listening to my shoes click the wood I closed the door silencing the outside world and wend forward to find Madam in the living space area reading some papers. She was by a none active fire pit sitting in the armchair that faced it. Sensing my presence, she looked up and smiled.

“Morning or Afternoon Asema” she acknowledges me to which I found myself walking towards her and sat in the armchair across from her.

She studied me as concern was now written on her face. Probably because I still have given those snarky comments.

She placed down the papers on a end table by her chair and leaned on her armchair. “What seems to be the problem?”

This time I shook my head and smiled, “No problem just wanted to ask you something.”

She nodded acknowledging me to continue.

Now I needed to get my barring together. “When visions come, vision especially in Mentors, we the visions always clear?” I asked hoping this would clear up something.

She eyed me for a moment then brought her gaze to the ground, “yes for some Mentors seeing the future is clear as if they are their themselves, witnessing it while other had to go off symbolism, but not always…usually depends on the vision.”

I allowed there to be silence amongst us as I functioned the words through my brain and Madam knew this as I still trying to figure out my Immortal life myself. Especially the powers I contained. She had helped me understand many things but something new always pops up not allowing me to gully grasp my powers and what I am fully capable of.

“What are you visions appearing as now?” his voice light but I could tell she wanted me to get to the point. I raked a hand through my hair allowing the golden but dark blonde locks to fall back down onto my face, a flustered feeling I felt.

“Usually, my visions are clear as if I am there witnessing it myself…just like you said but lately” I moved my gaze to the fire pit where it stood lifeless. “I keep getting a vision of symbolism, a feeling, like a warning” I spoke the words out as they still did not feel real. “A warning something is coming but I cannot pin point it or how to even de-puzzle it.”

I shifted my gaze back to Madam who stared at me intently.

“What feeling do you get?” she asked.

I brought my eyes to her and instantly captivated by her silver yes that looked now intense because the silver reflection outside.

“A feeling of dread, helpless, pain, as if I am dying too.” I swallowed trying to push back the feelings, as they were the same feeling I had when with Kieran and I did not want to return to those feelings. “It hurts and gives a great paint to even think about it.”

Madam lips went into a thin line and ushered for me to stand. I did facing her. She took both my hands and I felt the wonderful warmth and soothing she provided.

“Asema, it sounds as if the goddess is warning you but I too cannot figure out what she trying to communicate…”

I sighed in defeat but she cuts me short, “but you can seek to fund the answers yourself as I will not be much help…just the best advice I can give.” She held my stare, “Follow your feeling and do not second guess what your gut is telling you.” She narrowed her gaze at me and I was caught by another trances of hers, “do you understand?”

A moment seemed like forever, but I nodded, “trust feeling and your gut.” I repeated her advice.

She smiled and placed a hand on my cheek giving a familiar paternal touch. I smiled, picked up my bag and began o move away with my boots clicking the wooden floor again. Though I didn’t leave without waving a goodbye to which she took happily. Closing the door behind me I took a in the ocean air and prepared myself again as next stop is captain Thuse Office.
