Unknown Magic (3)
Chapter 6.1

I arrived at his place or the building next to the warrior’s academy, it too had the same silver type of material to it even though it was made of stone. Stone that almost reflected light back to you blindly.

Upon entering, the energy in the building would be the same as a human police station. Multiple people giving many directions carrying paperwork or just chatting. I began going up the two staircases that were provided as well the people going down them. Everyone wore the common warrior gear of straight black or grey, combat trousers to long sleeve or short sleeve. With the occasional weapon on the back or side.

I began walking up the stairs to the offices that held the occasional on the field warriors. Passing by mainly men through none of them turned their heads as most know me already. Except it was not all men since my indent to the academy gave more woman to come forward to train and be the best. I took pride in that knowing I made a small change.

I went up the second set up stairs allowing the tiles to click again my feet echoing through the stairwell for only a moment as some would pass by me muffling the clicking. Eventually I made it to Thuse floor and knocked on his door, that was already opened and saw him leaning against a table staring at the wall that displayed most connections to the murder.

He quickly turned his attention to my knock and smiled gesturing me in.

I entered while I would say admiring his crime science board though I kept my distance from him. I was scared about his heat or touch that it may hurt me again. But I did at a distance join leaving against the table.

His arms were crossed but he unfolded one pointing to the board and directed his question to me.

“What do you see?”

I stare at the board which had, photos from different angles of the body onto the notes that was left with it and statements from only a few warriors that found the scene as well notes about who the woman belonged to and who she was, those were still being questions. A sad feeling went through me as to know that the victim was a unknown, hopefully we would find her family soon.

Staring at the board in whole way they were all just stuck. A collage of more questions to be asked.

“I see a crime, that you collaged together.” I replied and Thuse walked away picked up something from his desk and threw it down on the ground. It bounced only slightly but instantly created a popped-up image of the body in real form under it the note that was found.

I didn’t feel sick to my stomach just nothing as I stared at this hologram image of a dead woman.

“What do you see?” he urged again, something in his voice I couldn’t decipher. I brought my attention to his gaze and still it was blank, no emotion. Either he was hiding or just kept up a front.

I sighed but stayed in my place and briefly looked out his window to where there were a few buildings that allowed the ocean view to peak through as glints of light were passed by on the water. I returned my focus back to the hologram.

“Would you believe me if I said that this is leaving a message?” I slowly spoke as I too was trying to figure if that was actually happening.

Thuse crosses his arms again narrowing his eyes but later shrugs his shoulders picks up the small square rectangle that creating the hologram, and it disappeared. And threw it back onto this desk. Brought his eyes back to mine. “Yes, it does leave a message to us, to you, but what type of message is it communicating is my main questioning.”

I stepped away from the table and closer to the board analyzing every note, picture, statement. While Thuse went to go sit at his desk.

“There is something behind that message that has more to it.” He murmured almost in his own world of thought.

I drifted my gaze to where he sat slightly getting blinded by the reflection of the sun. He was looking at texts probably more statements.

“You are saying a message, specifically for me? Or for the woman hung like a marionette puppet?”

His eyes met mine and I felt off for a moment but shook the feeling away. There was something about Thuse that rubbed me wrong. I would try to take Emily statement that Thuse is a good guy but I feel I was seeing someone different to what she was.

“So, you are for sure that the message is a marionette puppet?” His gaze beating into mine.

I laughed and waved my hand to one image, “Unless it was just convenient to hang her like that, she was hung like a marionette puppet and she suffered. But her death was quick.”

His gaze shifted to where I slightly pointed and soon looked like he was in thought. After a moment he sat up and walked to where I was, though I kept my distance from him subtle as I could feel his heat and not good heat off of him. He eyed me only for a moment as he took noticed to my not-so-subtle action. But returned his attention back to board.

“Mhmm” he nodded, “Yes a puppet, but why a puppet and what message is that trying to send to you, and good that she died quickly.” Crossing his arms again and face me, “Why would they want you to figure it out especially with the spokesperson Equitem-Draco family.”

I swallowed and looked to the note, then had a cold feeling, a moment of ice that went past me, but somehow barely noticeable to be even realized it happened. A thought, but I quickly ended it as it would not be possible. So, it ended even before it came.

I slumped my shoulders again and leaned back on the table, “leaving a message for me but why, what type of message do they went me to know” I thought out loud.

I didn’t realize Thuse was eyeing, studying me more like it.

“Something I believe you will need to figure out as I don’t think I would be much help.”

I was about to respond when a beep sounded with flashing light. I looked to the sphere object as it kept flickering.

“You are getting a warning?” I half joked.

Thuse looked from me to the object on his desk with a split second later was sitting down adjusting himself for a moment too a breath. While I stared watching him wondering why he was so frantic about answering something.

When ready he tapped the sphere and allowed a medium size hologram that took over half of his desk to sit nicely with two figures from what I assumed were thrones. I crept forward wondering who they are and hoping they would not see me. I gazed at Thuse again and he genuinely seemed scared, or out of sorts just being in the hologram in these people’s hologram presence.

“My queen and king” Thuse nodded or more like bowed.

I was now at the side edge of the desk where I got side view of these figures and could see face of the hologram better. Though it took me awhile to realize Thuse said Queen and King. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Who were they?

I observed them further, while they gave Thuse a stern look and gave a silence response till the male spoke. His voice not quite clear but enough to know what he was saying.

“We request your presence at the Aer Kingdom.”

Still observing but I stayed in my place, you couldn’t tell much as the hologram was faded colours but could tell they held themselves together like royals almost stiff.

“And” the female added, “bring this great warrior legend, they call Asema Darksky with you.”

That made my breath stop for a moment. Why did they want me? And why accompany Thuse?

Thuse slightly directed his eyes to me then back to the hologram.

“May I ask why?” Thuse almost sounded confident but there was struggle, silent struggle I could only hear.

“A murder happened in our kingdom last night and since we hear she good, she might as well show her worth, “the male said so harshly.

I found myself speaking, “Excuse me? I—”

“Yes, your royal highness, we will come as soon as we can” Thuse cut me off and tapped the sphere making the queen and king of Aer disappear. Thuse desk returned to normal why I stared at him in disbelief.

“Excuse me, but I get a choice, one whose murder I trying to solve.” I placed a hand on my hip in disbelief. Thuse stared at where my hand was for a moment but snapped but back to reality and gave me his attention.

“Yes you do, but when the Ancient Family of Air request your presence, you don’t go against their command.”

“Wait” I raised both my hands stepping back as Thuse rose walking to me and stopped, I wasn’t sure if I did it to keep away from him or if it was a reflex. “Wait, that was ancient family of air? We, you spoke to?”

Thuse nodded, confirming, “Yes and apparently a murder has happened right in their kingdom and wants us to figure it out” she stepped forward passing me and I felt nothing from him making me wonder if the heat and cold had all been in my head.

Thuse now stood at his office door gesturing for me to leave, “now please prepare yourself for a journey as their Kingdom is not close by.”

I went forward passing by him but stopped just when I was outside his office.

“Fine, but I am bringing my husband, something tells me he needs to be there with me” I said and wasn’t lying. There was something about Thuse I didn’t trust and wanted Wolf with me.

I turned away and made my way to the stairs as I could already hear voices and footsteps from others below. Though before I turned away there was something on Thuse face that was not right and I didn’t know why.
