Chapter 7.1

We were led through the main hallway that was lined with columns that separated us from the horizon outside. I have come to realize anything connected to outside didn’t have walls just columns allowing the outside to come in, the being clouds that would slowly move in and disappear. Through the solid wall of glass coated with white. Since the kingdom was based off the element of air I guess it made sense to allow as much air into the kingdom. And since the throne room was occupied by the deceased Dante, we have to occupy another room that I was not sure what to expect.

Eventually the servant directing us gestured to a set of light woven glass doors where you could partly see in the room already where the queen and king talking. The doors opened and, I entered along with Wolf, Emily and Thuse tailing at the back as if he was scared of them for some reason.

The queen and king sat at around a table and without a message indicated for us to sit down on the other side. One thing I noticed in this kingdom is how quiet everything is or how light touch can be. Hardly the chars scraped whatever type of floor we stood on. I gazed around the room and this time I did not see clouds or mountains, rather we were surrounded by fogged glass making it seem we have privacy. My focus was soon brought back to the royal couple and they were staring at me as the other were giving the undivided attention. But corner of my eye I noticed Emily didn’t care much rather she look around as if she was bored and wanted to get on with the day.

“Thank you for coming, as requested and we can see that you are not accustomed to this type of presence.” The king referred to me not seeing this type of class royals for the first time.

I swallowed and nodded.

“Let us introduce ourselves, my husband” the queen pointed, “Is king Zephyr” and laid a hand on herself, “and I Queen Aura, we are the Ancient family of air.”

I nodded my head, “Nice to meet you, and I believe you already know me and my husband as apparently word get out” my voice suddenly strong.

Both of them nod while Zephyr replies, “yes, everyone know you as you made history and a statement in life.”

I looked to Wolf who also turned his attention to me and gave a soft smile and held out his hand to me, I grasped it. Forgetting that we were in the presence of two royals. Thuse cleared his throat rudely snapping everyone attention.

“Your highness, now that you called upon us, why do you seek her” he referred to me.

Yes, the question I been wanting answer to but was not sure how to ask and the fact my mind was on the body that we recently just found.

“Yes,” Zephyr replied then eyed everyone, “if you so kindly please leave except for you Asema” his white eyes landed on me and this time I did not shrivel under it.

Without questioning but I heard silent grumbles from Thuse, everyone made their way to the door.

“Wait” I spoke pausing everyone, I turned to see wolf and like a silent message again he nodded stepping away from the door, “Can my husband stay?”

Zephyr and Aura looked at me, then at another, and back to us and nodded to that Wolf returned to his seating position beside me. And waited for the other to fully leave having the soft doors close behind them.

Their expressions held me in my place, this told me that it was something serious.

“You must be questioning some things which we understand as we are too, since these murders, we been feeling a unbalance connection to the other families” Zephyr spoke.

I looked at them both confused, “how is any of that my concern?”

They stared at me. “Honestly I don’t understand, how that is connected to me, maybe” I gesture to myself for a moment, “everyone recently heard I have power of all four elements” my eyes glanced at my ring. “But how does that be my concern?”

Aura spoke, but her voice demanding, “the reason it should concern you is your name was whisper to us. We do not know why.”

“And we believe these murders are connected to the unbalance for some reason, they send a message of some sort,” Zephyr stepped in.

“So, yes it does concern you because you are somehow in the center of all fo this, may been the start when you married a Lycan, Wolf the alpha of Hunters Forest” Aura continued.

Wolf was now squeezing my hand; I squeeze back to show support for him.

“You are changing the world and we smile upon that, but there is a different change, a forced changed that we cannot explain, “Zephyr finished.

I straightened my back and breathed a breath, “so what am I supposed to do?”

They stared intently at me, studying my question.

“A inconvenience we know…” Zephyr began, “but it is something you will need to figure out” Aura finished.

I shifted my gaze to Wolf as he too looked at me worried. Realization washed over me telling us our lives became complicated again.
