Chapter 15

The roar of the dragon made it known Emily arrived at the pack and I hope with good news.

Already I exited out of the house as did everyone else dan made my way to where she would land. The rustling wind settles as the dragon plants it claws into the ground and groaning in submission. As I near, I witness some crowd of children and only a few teenagers. But I was surprised to see Damon behind Emily on the dragons back. A sense of warmth and a smile was placed on my lips, began to form into something bigger. It gave me hope knowing something was good.

A hand came to my back and I tilted my head to the side to see the same curl of lips into s mile on Wolfs face.

I didn’t get a chance to reply when a body threw itself upon me causing me to stagger back and wrap my arms around her. I looked sideways shaking the fluff of hair from Emily that scattered across my face and could see through Wolf and Damon slapping their hands together pulling one another in for looked like a hug. A smile grew wider.

I brought my attention back to Emily who already peeled herself away from me and felt the shift in weight as I regained my own balance. I looked upon her face and saw her eyes glistened with joy. While Damon bright and sunny face, brought her into his side and she leaned in pressing and hand to his chest.

“Our marriage had been approved” they said.

That caused Wolf and I to lung at them into a group hug. Finally she can have a moment of happiness, cut out the darkness, they deserve this after everything they been through. A chance at happiness. A chance to live what they want.

A week later had gone by and Damon and Emily married, the so-called wedding come sooner than expected just as the news came. Since from that, Wolf and I were invited by the couple to come visit them at their new place and we obliged.

Arriving at their place was gorgeous, it gave European feel of brick housing and was placed near a sea, similar to our home. Though from what I could tell from the distance as we roamed the back of the house with them, there was stone hedge that put barrier between us the water different to our home. Their house had a elegance of silver and stone looking medieval yet elegant in modern time. Junior and Alice were already placing around in the grass and dirt, laughing as the free space that was available to them. As Emily instructed them not to go near the section for the dragons as they were spaced out the other far side of the property.

Light wind breezes would occasionally come but the heat from the dragons didn’t help this so called soon cooling summer that we had. Emily and both let the men to chat while we roamed around just to keep an idea on the kids.

We walked on the cobbled stone that was placed in the ground with green around growing over them. Luckily not to trip us as we were carefully to wear, we stepped in the first place.

“So, elopement, was it worth it?” I ask, already knowing that answer.

Emily laughs her cheerful self, “Of course, my parents keep me away from someone I love because they don’t trust him but I do, they deserve it. Especially with all their protocols and way so life, besides,” she shrugs her shoulders, “I am the spokesperson for the family, so they can’t really do anything any ways.”

I laugh at her statement, she had a point there, she is technically head of the family as she only possesses the power, so they could really split her from the family.

We continue to walk and find ourselves walking to the dragons, in particular Emily dominant rider one. Who pride itself with silver scales. He was bigger than the others but he still looked the same size. I felt junior and Alice inching behind us, and saw they wanted to see the dragons to. Emily too noticed this and turned around crouch to their level and I watched her,

“Okay you two, this is the only time… but you had to only be near my dragon and not the others, because he knows you.”

They had gleeful expression and smiled, as we turned and approached her leader, who lowered it head enough that Emily was able to reach out and touch the leather like skin caressing under her finger tips. He puffed air out happy and looked to where Junior and Alice was as they began running around him. He didn’t care, Emily was here.

“What it like being a dragon rider,” I wonder out loud. Not expecting a answer.

The dragon looks over to me and indicated me to touch his head, with hesitation, I reach up and touch the leather skin, rough like tree bark under my skin, which a warm feeling not burning.

“It interesting, I still learn everyday what it means to have the power of dragons but least I am improving who I am what I can control.

I nod in agreement, “That understand, as I am too still trying to understand my powers and who I am.” I laugh and she joins in.

Only to be interrupted again by someone clearing their throat. I looked back to be surprised by the person. There stood Thuse standing upright as if he was trying to hold power on everyone else. Dressed in his usual uniform looking Emily and I up and down.

“Why are you…here” I actually hissed at him, he looks around himself nodding in his own thought.

“I have come with information that needs attention now..”

My spine went stiff and my inside went cold. What he said did not sit right with me.

“Again why are you here?” Wolf repeated, as he came into ear shot of us speaking, even Emily was giving dagger eyes at Thuse.

Thuse quickly brought his attention back to us through leaned keeping his words a whisper.

“I am sorry to say but you need to know…” he steps in closer, “another murder happened and needs our immediate attention. We need to move now, to the Terra Kingdom, which is the Ancient family of earth. They sent new this morning.” He leaned back but already gesturing for us to leave.

I was shocked but I hid it well but my inside felt heavy, and sorry for this victim. Wolf by my already squeezed my hand and began to lead us away. But Emily came into view with dirt being moved around sweeping the stones and grass. She seem insulted but also worried..

“I am coming with you” she stared at me not backing down.

“As am I” Damon intervenes beside her.

She rolled her eyes but turned away gesturing us to follow her. While taking Damon arm, the three of us looked at one another but Thuse was the first to move followed by Wolf taking me with him.

I quickly turned my head and spotted Junior and Alice still playing but moving towards the ocean, “Alice, Junior, come inside with us now!” I turned back and we entered into the house. And again was taken back by the elegance that was bestowed, immediately you enter into a hall with grey marble floor and welcomed by a grand staircase that lead to the second floor. To my right was the garden room and smaller hallway, as to the left was long hallway with arches leading to a dinning glass area.

“Guess you better keep on eye on those trouble makers, they place is too elegant” Thuse said trying to make a joke. As we ascended onto the grand staircase.

Emily didn’t look back but shrugged, ascending the stairs to the second level, “They aren’t trouble makers, they are respected children who have better manners than my own family.” Her voice stiff. She opened the doors and we entered into a room with wall length glass that overlooked the sea. Even from above it was breath taking. The light glinting off the water as if it was made of shiny diamonds.

We gathered around an oval table but did not sit down.

“Speak” Emily demands.

“Hold up” I bring my palms to her, silencing her but I could see the wheels turning. “How did you know where we were” I gesture to the area we were in. “And how did Damon know to come to us.

“Sonic hearing of the dragons” Damon smirked and Emily gave him mischief smile.

“Now we have a union, he has the power of the dragons,” Emily chimes but soon returned her stare to Thuse. “Speak.” She demands again knowing she is the princess of higher power.

Thuse exhales a breath, “Well one is because your pack told me you would be here ans second, a report from Terra came, they want us to investigate since it may be connected to the other kills they don’t know but they are doing their best to preserve the body till we arrived.” Thuse speaks yet I sense annoyance in his voice as if not wanting to repeat himself again.

“Till we get there?” I questioned crossing my arms over my chest. While narrowing my eyebrows again what on earth did that mean? Thankfully Emily replied.

“Terra Kingdom,” she tapped the table and before me was tropical rainforest with mist and rain covering overhead with birds soaring and the sounds of critters below almost if it was actually real. A gasp left my mouth but I brought my focus to Emily who only was smirking at me. She enjoys my reactions to something new. She tells me that it is because it reminds her of colour in this world.

Emily brings her focus back to the table fanning her palm around.

Terra believes in ancient transportation, and with portals you can’t get accurate place, reason is because—”

“It is hidden to be kept traditional” Thuse cut her off. She snaps her head to him but does not fume. He does not stare at her but at table of the hologram. There is no tension but a shift in weight in the room.

Emily shakes her head and walks to Damon who takes her hand and kisses it, a small gesture of affection.

“We cannot portal or hologram ourselves, only signal comes out from them, which is why you got the message. WE will” she looks to the party or the sea outside. “Fly the dragons out there as they are the only transportation they allow.” She turns back to us waiting on our confirmation. I look to Wolf and his green- golden eyes find mine.

’Kids will go to Madam and I will fly’ Wolf thinks to me.

I don’t reply back but nod. That is all it takes as Emily claps her hands together. “A adventure awaits.”

“I will get the preparations ready, come back tomorrow with gear and a stomach to Fly.” Damon orders.

We all nod and Wolf leads us down the stairs to get out kids and prepare to tell them why we must leave. It dreads me but the sooner we deal with this. Sooner we can never leave them again.

Though something about Terra Kingdom bugs me. It gave me a odd sense of knowing. As if this is what we are suppose to do. Could my vision, recent one be connected to this murder in the Terra Kingdom. Vines, trees and roots indicate a earth kingdom? If so who was she and why are they multiple bodies?

Madam Mentor

She nestled the children in their beds and went down to her office finishing up some paperwork for the school that was about to begin for fall. Even though it was still far off. Madam nestled into her chair and gave a quick thought to Asema who was now riding with Emily and her husband along with Captian Thuse. As they sailed through the even night sky to a greet a protected kingdom. She sighed at the thought of murders. But wasn’t given time as the office faded out and she sat or stood in a grand hallway made of wood. Two girls stood before her, one blonde and one brunette. Confused to what was going on, only to have the answered question seconds later. As Asema stepped in view, looking tired and ragged. Then she realized the two girls, the blonde had the same features as Asema and the brunette almost looked like Alice but older. But she froze to see Kieran step into view, angry, steaming with fury.

“Kieran Please” Asema begged.

He only shook his head and pointed to the brunette, “she is weaker, lets start with her,” a second later he was behind the girl and she didn’t have time as he sliced her throat and allowed her body to slump to the ground lifeless.

“Elena no!” Asema bloody voice screamed running to her daughter but was blasted away to unconsciousness by Kieran.

The still image faded and Madam stared swallowing, processing what just happened. But it soon dawned on her. It is not the easy decision but it must be done.
