Chapter Twenty-Three

Home seemed so strange- so distant. We had taken our parents with us- Kira’s were still in France, of course, but mine and Lance’s were with us. Naturally, there were still many things to take care of, but it was a start.

My parents didn’t know how to take the false vacation scenario, but they were always normal- I guess they simply decided to forget about it. I still had school to deal with- but it was easier now. I could relax. Cleopatra never really bothered me anymore. Partially because I had dealt with much worse, and simple didn't care about her taunts. I wrote my absence off as post-surgery sickness and was able to speak louder. I didn’t exactly know why, but I felt comfortable being myself. Before, I had felt like something was wrong, and had drawn into myself- my missing robot nature- but that was no longer a worry. I could now speak louder. Lance and Kira had changed as well. I see Kira with her parents more and more- all of them had run out of secrets. Lance and I were steadily moving towards becoming friends again. Things were for good… except for that robot in my closet- or rather, stored in the airplane hangar. That would have to be dealt with… later. I was always a procrastinator, after all, and some things never change.
